Not useless, just not fully in the box with processing. It creates food here but potentially lacks automation with cleaning programming, especially since the idea is to save the owner time and focus. Would be great if it could also clean after itself :) there’s obviously immense applications for a tech which is a set of arms which can read what is around them and act intuitively - cooking, cleaning (the whole house, not only the kitchen), ironing, nursing the elderly, deliveries.. hell, if they are smart enough - why not hairdressers at your place and even maybe surgery.. obviously we are not there yet, but I truly believe that is the future. Imagine all the free time this would create for a person and what they could be doing with that time if all house chores were automated. You tell it what to do and when and it just does it. We would become much more social creatures and living conditions / quality of life would improve immensely!

Actually i personally found this kind of disappointing. 1. This was an extremely simplistic cook. 2.the robot did not do any seasoning of the steak. 3.the grease and oil splatter was what I would consider at worst a fire/safety hazard at best a huge mess. 4.seems like there was ALOT of wasted movements for something so simple. 5.how was internal temperature determined ? Is it dependent on time of cook ? Thickness of protein ? And what happens if the protein is thicker or thinner then what is programed for ? Do you get a raw or over cooked steak ? 6.The robot was not shown slicing or seasoning the steak which leads me to believe it was done off camera by a human being. 7.Do the ingredients need to be preloaded into the containers and cabinets by a human or is this an automated process ? 8.What if anything is the robot capable of cleaning after the cooking is done ? Ergo can it scrub the pots and dishes ? Will it wipe down and clean the stove top and counter tops of all grease, oil and food debris and splatter ? Not trying to shit on the company or the product, I think it is a wonderful idea and I can definitely see a market for the product. That being said I think this particular technology still has a very long way to go to perfect both the hardware and the software before this can even be considered as something ready for the consumer market. I hope they keep plugging away and work out the bugs and get this right, if they do........ I'd be happy to have one in my home.

Expert of all things mechanical here.. How this is wonderful for creating and using our minds for all the good in the world. The realization that this must be done where you have a robotic kitchen in a apartment building delivering food within the building non stop bares realization that this model is already obsolete in a setting where you have 65 apartment and all ingredients need to be ejected immediately. This robots motion compared to a robotic kitchen is substantially slow in orders of magnitude of 25.. Meaning what is required for a commercial kitchen moves every individual ingredient automatically including all the operations of the kitchen hardware. Dans, stoves, blenders, all appliances immediately… Wonderful work everyone… I cannot wait for the real version to come out..
@williamzhang963
@williamzhang963 11 месяцев назад
For it to be worth 300k, it needs to be a complete package in the kitchen, do everything a human chef can do, and be reliable and durable enough to operate multiple times a day for at least 5-10 years without any repair. Right now it is more of a concept proof thing.

Don't forget the cost of remodeling the kitchen to install the thing if the current kitchen can't fit it, as well as the possible cost of electrical rewiring to support its power requirements if needed.
@Beniamin6665
@Beniamin6665 7 месяцев назад
Unfortunately the both of your concepts add into consideration only existing infrastructure.. By automating a commercial kitchen and using a vacuum tube delivery system can you achieve complete opulence… The kitchen it self is a automated robot. Makes food for 350 homes per hour. Vacuum systems again deliver the food in seconds. Our homes 🏠 are as outdated as horse and buggy… The very fact that there are trucks driving around delivering stuff is absolutely ridiculous… Those jobs will be taken by interpersonal jobs and skills giving attention once back to each other like the old days when your community use to be your community. Grandson use to take care of grandparent.. We are as isolated as plane crash in the snow blizzards 🌨️…

@@williamzhang963 Yes. I’d like to ask you. Would you move into a building where there is a robot kitchen making you food on demand and sending it up to you in your kitchen.. would you do your groceries on your cell phone than a vacuum shoot sending it directly to your kitchen.. How much time does that save you in life. What would you do with that time saved. Are you aware of how much time it takes to drive through dense traffic that kills millions annually and putting your food 🥘 together after you spent all the time picking it up. Would you move into my “Green Dragan” town… The very reason I’m here checking this out is to consider how we will automatically take care of the cooking. There is nothing that exists yet to what we need. This robot is much too slow and takes 1 hour per meal.. I’m looking at doing - 64 apartments in 1 building 8 stories. Sitting on a 2 acre lot - 100 buildings in a town every 2 acres. - apartments will all be 9’ ceilings 850 to 1250 square foot apartments with 250 square foot decks, hot tubs on deck. - Underground parking with room to store man toys like atv’s. - All food and Amazon deliveries get sent by vacuum tubes/shoots. - Roads heated and never plowed - power made from solar and human sewer waste, bio methane gas from your wasted food clippings, Geo thermal for all heating systems. We are making a 3D video rendering. Where it looks like it currently exists already in real life and viewable with the oculus or your cell phone/TV. - micro hospital in ever 10th building - social areas - parks, trees 🌲 Would you buy in. It will be a at cost project to be able bring it into existence. At cost meaning we are manufacturing almost everything our selfs and building it ourselves. Would you buy in.

Create a separate compartment on the side that allows the robot to place things In like onions or steak that compartment does instant cuts, and different types of chef cuts, that way you avoid the laws when it comes to a robot with a blade, Just add a cutting/ dicing/ spiraling compartment that does all cuts automatically all the robot does is add the food in the compartment that way the robot preps the meal too ,, have to nail the peeping down too
@oliver4953
@oliver4953 2 года назад
Exactly, that was my thought too. The way we cook is based on the limitations of our body structure, 2 arms, 2 hands etc. - but when you create a robotic cook, there is no need to integrate those natural limitations, so why not setup certain additional devices for standard-tasks that are repetitive in cooking, just like you said: cutting / dicing veggies and such, and use more than 2 arms as well?
@corderomason1550
@corderomason1550 9 месяцев назад
Adding these would add task to the user when the idea of the machine is to be completely hands free where if you install said compartment even a self cleaning one would need disposed this machine uses every ingredient so there is no left over mess now I would suggest maybe an attachment to the robot where said attachment is not actually in hand but a extension of the unit it’s self.

But very few people are going to be interested in paying the extra for a walking robot instead of one with wheels, it's just a lot of extra motors and points of failure if you have a mostly flat surface. It's a bit like this robot having five fingers in each hand instead of four, pretty useless for its operation but if you're rich you might as well pay the extra few thousand for the wow-factor.

All it does is dump the ingredients in the pan and cook it.

From looking at it, it relies on preset movements, etc. Not dynamic or anything. I honestly think LIDAR could be used to map the actual environment at all times and detect the location of the steak in the pan. It's quite possible it flips the same way with how these presets are working, or lands on its side, and it needs to be able to have some form of AI and LIDAR integrated to be able to detect and move the steak. This is a "good" run they are filming, but if you do that same test as is 500 times, I am sure about 50-100 had some big "oops" issues. At its current stage, I don't think a 10-20% of a failed meal is good. Once it gets down to 1%, maybe, but TONS of work needed to be done. This is way too primitive as is.

I personally can't see the point of this, and here's why. 1. It costs a lot of money. Who wants to pay £300,000 just to buy a robotic kitchen? I think for a person who has billions of dollars, the best thing would be to highr a very good cook, which is much cheaper even for ordinary people. 2. This kitchen cannot work with normal kitchens. That is, the cooking robot needs its own kitchen. I would think that a robotic cook should work with all kitchens. 3. Too slow. 4. This thing can only cook simple dishes. Since it can't do cutting and things, that means it can't do Baklava, which is very difficult to make - you need people that are trained to make that sort of thing. 5. Automation is important to produce products such as cars, but too much automation would make people unemployed. So there's a chance that a lot of money will be lost through this thus damaging the economy. Also, people can become even more lazy. 6. Going back to point 1, in order to make a dish, you have to record it into the system. That means you have to do the dish and moley will have to save it on its system. Much cheaper to tell your cook hey, can you please make it like this and this for today? 7. Let's say you are in a big restaurant, and you are cooking an important dish for a guest. What if the machine breaks down halfway? Or what happens if the meal is not to the taste of the guest? You are going to have to do some serious explaining in that situation. 8. How much is the life-expectancy for this thing? Added to that, since the price is so high, how much is the cost of maintaining this machine? 9. The only tpeople that would be interested in this sort of thing are not super rich people, but are factories, robot enthusiasts that like this sort of thing, and maybe some big restaurants and care homes who like this sort of thing. 10. Can it do multiple dishes at once, that is, can it cook them? So can it cook rice for one person, pasta for another person, etc etc? If not it kind of defeats the purpose.

Billion dollars global insight - Monetise as real life, movie, anime, TV drama and thesis to max profits and charity donations. The pivotal insight is the strategic vision or direction that most robotics are heading or funding is in the wrong area. There are many people, housewives or home owners (even males), who love to cook as they find it therapeutic and it gives them a sense of achievement and control in their lives. The right area of focus on for robotics is to improve the dirty dish management and cleaning process starting from each human diner put their dirty plates in stack on sink counter and waterproof submarine tech robot arm can scrape the dirty food morsels off the plates, sort items into categories, pre-rinse sauce and debris and load into dishwasher to wash, after dishwasher cleaned everything, robot arm with (clean washed fingers, hands, wrists and forearms) can unload dishwasher to store dry items into respective cupboard storage space. Waterproof robot can DIY clean and dry itself at end of its shift. E.g. move itself into shower room to jet spray and air dry.

This is all cool and everything, but I DO NOT WANT THIS TO TAKE OVER JOBS!! It's fine in your home!! But if these are applied to restaurants that take away from honest working American jobs I am NOT FOR IT!! Just imagine you lost your job to an AI Robot!! How would you feel???

This is for lazy rich people. I’d rather cook my own food.

A complete fraud 😅 , the robot is slow , can t controll the amount of things to add to the recip , u have to full up the storage before the robot start coocking and u have to do it exactly with the right amount of things cause he cant determined itstelf the right amount of spice or oil to add , by the way this is why the steak is cooked blue cause surely he can t , determined the degree of cokking it without cook it too much , , this is actually not a viable prototype two years ago it will be ok to present tgis but now .. its a faillure
