I’ve had the Taos SE 4 motion for 5 months now, I really like the car, the awd system works great in the snow and rain. The DSG transmission is meh while driving in town or city, it’s jerky and sluggish. There is a bit of turbo lag, but once it gathers itself, it takes off and goes. Also, it’s not sluggish or laggy all the time, it has its moments. I noticed when it’s warmer out, it shifts much better. Fuel mileage is great, I can get 32-34 on highway. 26-28 highway. Handles great, features are good. It looks great on the outside, the interior im on the fence. I was aiming for a cx-30 or cx-5, some days I wish I would have. Not saying the Taos is terrible. I get a lot of compliments on looks and the way it rides, but Mazda has better looking interior for around the same price. Just my honest opinion! I also only have 2,700 miles on it, once it “breaks in” im sure it will be fine. No regrets I enjoy the Taos
You said a couple times that the Tiguan had a more solid feel, but which one actually rides softer? I have driven a new Tiguan and I liked it but I prefer the looks of this actually.
Just turned in my 2021 Tiguan SE for the 2023 VW Taos SE…no sunroof( didn’t want that) more weight. I have it in the Platinum Gray Metallic. I will either stay with this or maybe go back with Tiguan…..will just have to see. Although at present time, I am enjoying this vehicle, as I lease. Thanks Always for your great reviews.
The Taos is alright if your a college student or you want the image of the Atlas parked in your garage or driveway but for me the Audi Q3 & especially the sportsback model (which I doubt is even available here in the States yet) I find to be a little more sophisticated for someone over 50 such as myself, granted you're gonna have to bite the bullet & shell out an extra $10K but I think it's worth it!...CHEERS!
I have a Taos 2022 S trim, really like the car! However when I start the car in the morning after a few seconds it make this big sound as something is disengaged! Is this due to cold?
Great Taos review! Just came back from test driving the base model with 8 speed. Lots of fun to drive! Completely agree about going for the base Taos S ($25k) for best value. A fully loaded Taos Sel will be competing against an electric ID.4 after ev federal incentive.

Since you made this video, the taos with 4 motion is now just over $27,050 MSRP. Looking at getting one right now that happens to have a 14.5 gallon gas tank instead of the standard 13.2.
Def an entertaining review homie. I was driving the other day, and like 8/10 vehicles on the road are SUVs. Of course you still see cars, but nowhere near as many. I just can't see myself getting an SUV even though I want extra ground clearance, I hate the top heavy feel they have and the cavernous feel of the cabin when I'm driving around by myself.
Haha thank you my friend and yea SUVs are everywhere now it's nuts. I too love the handling of a Sedan but nobody seems to care about that. What do you think of some all terrain Station wagons like the audi all terrain for extra ground clearance?
@@MeynMotorGroup Totally man. The handling is real important to me. I like that Audi option but out of my budget. I have considered a station wagon but new ones they’re rare now a days. Saab used to make a dope one same with BMW. I just did a quick search and I think this is super dope: 2021 Mercedes-Benz E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain Wagon
Yea Mercedes still makes one with the E class but yes you're right station wagons are very rare In the states due to lack of demand. Only other option might be some Subarus
We really liked the looks of the Taos, and decided to go with this instead of the Tiguan. Only time will tell if this was a good choice and the mpg is awesome.
I always thought of vw as a good reliable brand, I guess time will tell.... so far we love it. Love the way it drives, to me, this thing drives like a small car.
I know from my friends that the reliability from the VW cars are not good ( in Germany ), they pay a lot of money for repairs after the Car is older than 4 years. Thanks Kevin.

That’s what all these SUV turds do. Look around you on every street corner a freaking SUV. You think these people bought them because of 0-60 number please
@@MeynMotorGroup well, the options are either SUV, truck or sedan. There aren't many wagons or hatches that provide the space of an SUV, especially in the new car market.

New VWs seem to be very soft and compliant they've lost the edge they used to have but that could be only for the SUVs. I haven't tried a new sedan like the Arteon or the new Golf maybe those have that European sharpness but VW SUVs are all big soft boxes Tiguan just feels a bit more premium for being a class up and not costing much more than this
