I meant to say in my last comment, I really appreciate that you state information - no click bait, no ridiculousness/gimmick editing, and no music. Thank you!
Jerra, excellent tutorial. Bought some Everglade seeds from you. they have already popped out little thin leggy plants. Looking forward to getting them into the ground after last frost in 9B just up the road from you. I have two spots where they could be planted, one is morning sun (east side of house) and the other is afternoon sun (west side of house). After watching this video I"m leaning toward the east (cool) side of the house. the west side is a cooker in the afternoon. The east side still gets 5-7 hours of direct sun. Am I on the right track? Thanks again for the great videos. You spew out so much information that I find that I have to watch the same video about 3 times to get it all! Good teaching tool.
The heat kills my tomatoes every year I live in Florida 10b. Started these seeds this yr. I was having trouble starting these seeds it was 10 days so I threw a few in a planter that I have our Fl soil in. They germinated within a week only one germinated the first round so far.
Oh my!! I just discovered these last year and saved seed for this year just today! I could not believe how many we got off 2 plants! We were practically overrun with them. ❤ LOVE em!
@@JerrasGarden we are in Destin and got a couple minor freezes like we do most years. I’m on the line between 9a and 9b according to the new map but wow!!! Production is the best I’ve ever seen on any tomato in this area! …and so many! 🤩 Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day.
Best video on these tomatoes I've seen. Everything you need to know and right to the point!! I wish I had run across this video when I first started growing these tomatoes. I love them for all the reasons you explained in your video.
I am in 10a and have tried twice. Waited well over 30 days and still nothing. I was trying to germinate them in a 5 gallon bucket that is watered daily. Guess I will try the cup and heat mat trick to see if I can speed things up. Thanks.
this is a great video! I'm going to try some everglades tomatoes.. I have them in seed starting cells now and they're about 6 inches tall. Do you think it would be ok if I transplant them in June or July? I'm in Melbourne
Just started growing some Everglades tomatoes in my hydroponic garden, it took only 5 days to see some growth and now they are about 2 inches tall. So glad I found this video for all the best tips and tricks
Thank you for video i’m very impressed with this variety of cherry tomato -first time growing this year -Used solo cups for germination under 24 hour light-they were up in 10 days-Rock sulfate is a must win transplanting -good stuff -I Got 50+ on my two plants growing in 10 gallon bag with used soil.- w cow manure - i put it on broken lawn chair-looks cool-almost ready to pick-covering with net to keep birds from getting them- have to water them 3 times a day - afternoon shade is working well- zone 8
You’re my new best friend! I AM the Jon Snow of growing edibles AND I’m 10a too. Have ordered these tomatoes as would love to try and fill in some underdeveloped areas of my garden. 🤞
I've been watching Fl gardening videos for weeks now, I just subscribed to your channel tonight and I ordered some of your seeds. Your videos are great.
Nice video. Lots of information. Enjoying my first harvest of EGT’s and I like them! Not a huge tomato fan but these are sweet and just the right size for me…when I can get them before the birds do. 😉
New sub!! I just bought Everglades tomato seeds and I put seeds in the plastic containers from grocery stores, the ones that have a plastic lid attached, like from the bakery. I clean it out and put potting soil and plant seeds, I water it gently, drops of water off my hand and close the lid and tape it shut. I put it in the window of my "florida room", my greenhouse. I just had 7 come up and I plant them in the double solo cups. I do this with all my seeds and finally getting really good amount of plants. I fertilize after the second set of leaves appear and then, plant in their "home" when they have the root system exactly like you have. I do have the black stuff near the top of my Early Girl tomatoes. Gonna have to get something to take care of it. Thank you for the info!!
I recently came across a video that you were giving a tour of your garden. I really loved that❤. Would love to see more garden tours of your garden.😂I love your videos and classes😁
My fav little fresh eating tomato 🍅! I wish someone could make a saladette size tomato w/ the flavor of Everglade. I grow these in 10-15 gall containers. I have found the seedlings 🌱 easy to start inside. The main problem in my yard is aphids, so all my veggies need to be sprayed.
I use these tomatoes when making chili, in tomato sauce, and to make a tomato, garlic, and basil marinara sauce, as well as putting them into all kinds of salad. I just love them 💕.
This has nothing to do with tomatoes. Can I grow lettuce in the same place? I’m in SW Florida.Im so sorry, I forgot to add. I grew lettuce in my grow bag. Can I grow more lettuce in the same place after I clean it out?
Thanks for these tips. I always learn something. It was interesting that you freeze the tomatoes until you have enough. My biggest problem with the Everglades tomatoes last year was the birds. They LOVED the tomatoes. So I did buy netting. That also helped with my second problem which is the caterpillar moth. They can eat a plant overnight if I don't catch them immediately, Ii enjoyed this video and seeing how big your tomatoes are. and that you can keep them year-round.
They sound as if they are pretty close to Red Centiflor . I grew Red Centiflor last year and I had to give 1/2 of them away . Couldn’t keep up with them
This is one of my favorite tomatoes. I live in North FL, so I can grow them in the garden until the our frost. Now that I have a greenhouse, I will have a couple plants in containers and leave them in the greenhouse house for year round tomatoes.
Excellent and detailed information as always! After hearing what you make with them I'd actually love to see some cooking videos by you as well! Thanks for all of your help with my gardening! ❤
Hi I have a question about the domes, yesterday I planted Everglades tomatoes, papaya and lots of other things, the seedling trays brings a dome, I love in Florida and I put the seeds outside with half shade, Should I use a dome?
