Hi my name is Caira Button and I am a 25 year old who makes videos about tips, tricks, and organization for small space living. I love the minimalist, feminine, clean vibe. I have kept the decor pretty neutral adding a bit of mid century modern & LOTS of plants. I hope my advice is able to help you in your journey!

I agree. I did not ask to be on this planet: I am on a limited income barely making minimum wage and the state I live in is on the expensive side for rent (like most places is what I make in a month for rent alone) and I finally want so badly to get out of my parents house but I cry when I see how much I make in comparison to what it will cost to be on my own. Like Omg someone take me out to pasture and shoot me

Love the advice! Another great tip for those moving out is if you know you are going to move out in about 6 months to a year, get a storage and start purchasing your big appliances gradually and once you are finish with that, start buying the small items. Start now and don’t wait until move in day. TOO EXPENSIVE.

My parents tell me that in their country, housing was free, meals were free, healthcare was free, university was free and you always got a job after graduation but they say that they were naïve back then and didn't appreciate what they had and believed too much of what western movies and tv shows portrayed and lost it all in the 90s. Now they still have to work to support themselves but if they lived in their previous country before their system changed they would've been retired and on pension for 6 years already.

My mother's husband whines like a little bitch whenever he's asked to do the bare minimum, and that just makes me hate him even more. @@b1njjj95 Thankfully, my husband has gotten much better with chores ever since I became disabled. However, the unfortunate part is that now, he is the only one physically capable of doing them, and that does make things very hard. In an ideal world, we'd split chores 50/50 and work on them together. I don't miss doing chores; I just miss the sense of independence that came with being able to do everything on my own.

Something I'm terrified of is being alone. Like, all my friends are online, and if I move I won't have my family, so unless I make friends at work or something I will be alone 100% of the time. And that scares me, because at college I had a mental breakdown due to being alone (granted I was screwed over by some people, but the gist of it was that I was so alone). Anyone who has moved out, and maybe didn't make friends right away/yet, are you still okay? Will I be okay?

Thinking about "what am I gonna eat" and planning groceries, and thinking up food to make bc you're getting bored of what you've been eating and budgeting for food. . . . it's like. . . . . 80% of your life as an adult until you get it down on lock, and even then it's still like. . . . 40-75% of your time and energy XD (More for those of us who really like food, a bit less if you're one of those people who can eat the same thing for weeks and weeks and weeks on end).

Another big thing, see if your area has a food pantry. or even if your in college sometimes they have those. It can save you a lot of money on groceries.

If you are young and have options for your car if you get a hybrid you can live a lot more affordably than renting an apartment. Many youth want to explore more and rather not be attached to an area by an apartment. Commuting seems neat at first but it grinds your money down , it opens you up to expenses that you can easily avoid. Think about it let's say you have a decent commute 30 min ? 5X a week you just waisted 5 hours that week you could have spent cooking, Looking for better deals , exercising , taking a shower at the gym. Let's say you took an hour a day cleaning copper from discarded appliances. You can A make a couple of bucks saving resources from the landfill , B learn how to fix things ,C market parts for greater return D do something proactive with that hour that didn't cause your money to go in the other direction. When you get where you can repair things you are going to look at the world different. Instead of rent a center or incurring debt buying expensive new stuff designed to break on time, you repair a washing machine or dryer or ... I never go to a laundry mat , too expensive. I do 2 loads a week whites,colors . I don't throw away a dryer unless it's designed to fail on a prescribed regular basis. I bought a new dryer and it broke 2 years later ,2 years later I same part broke same price for the part $40 at that rate I'll have paid for another new one. I looked for a used dryer that had a better reputation. Paid $50 for it 5 year's later that dryer was still going without one single breakdown. I sold the one I repaired for $50. I'm recommending living out your car . Renting a more affordable (LOCATED NEAR YOUR INTEREST ) storage unit .So your car isn't broken into each time you snag a shower you keep valuables locked in the storage ,and your car isn't being progressively destroyed in meaningless stop and go traffic on a daily ARBATRARY commute. Storage unit so you can have a car that is ready to do side hustle like delivery , buying and selling , etc. You also want to get a personal investment agent. I'm here to tell you that if you don't put your extra money to work it will evaporate. Just the way life is. What I propose is you find a investment advisor through Dave Ramsey. Whatever you want to do is approachable if you A know yourself and B are prepared for who you are going to become. I much prefer you to do 5 years this way when you have unbridled ambition. To apply your hard work in investment vs rent. At the end of 5 years you could have money to start a franchise, to start a family , to buy a home the right way. 20% down 15 years pay off. Some will be wise enough to homestead and pay cash for their property ,build their own or convert shipping containers to housing. Learn a trade for Christ sake sure you can get an education and be an Indian chief but if you become a good earning brave you can start your own tribe. Should have could have would have. I'm guilty. Recently I was in a divorcerape. 17 years catering to a woman that all along was using me to raise her daughter. I met her she had a 6 month old daughter. They moved out 6 months before graduation with honors. I had trusted her with all the money. A lot of money. She stole over 80K from me. Some would say that all you saved ? I will tell you do that end up debt free and raising a kid. We started from below nothing. Rather not go into the hard times but we got a home worked hard paid it off and had good reliable automobiles. We were all set to be empty nesters , well I was , she was all set to destroy all we created so she could steal it all. How can that happen to me? Well she struck first and had access to everything. I know you say get a lawyer ? She had a lawyer easy to do when you are using money your husband earned to destroy the him. I went to hire a lawyer and every one of them wanted $10 K CASH UP FRONT TO START !!! I was ambushed never thought anybody I was so graciousious to would have such a black heart. I ended up with $25 K and a good car. To restart my life. I bought my home , a RV I planned to live in etc. Well this City comes in and says you get caught sleeping in the camper you are going to have to move the Camper off your land. That's the way they are zoned , they are so greedy if you build a birdhouse they probably want a permit and inspection. It's not a total loss. I live 2 min from Walmart and everything else I need. Utilities never get over $100 a month and as low as $60. Water , Sewer, power, garbage , trash service too. Sorry but it just earks me to have to go to people that are here only because we are here and they are telling us what we can and can't do on property we own. I don't really own this if I did I would have already done so much , SPENT SO MUCH (they really hurt the economy) building my new home. Sadly I'm going to end up selling this place. The way it's looking so far I'll probably have to just walk away. The population is declining and it has everything to do with the oil industry being destroyed by low prices. And this city not being flexible enough to change with the times. I go all over the place I get that so I'm going to share this last thought. Better is a problem before it occurs than the end of it afterwards. Better to get as many facts before you enter a relationship, purchase , commitment . Need to learn who are or aren't. You can sculpt your life you can settle many places around the world , or ... It's all up to you. Safely you can bust your ass 5 year's and nearly set for life if you learn how to get to the ends vs taking all the paths to the ends. Maybe my town will chill and work something out where I can do with I need or I might walk and just restart some place else without the bean counters. I would sound much better if my divorcerapists didn't repay all my good deeds with evil. Sadly I have come to learn this doesn't just happen there is a game plan a prescribed step by step gold diggers take to mine assets out of a man , monkey branch to another and repeat the process. Sad but true.

I’m 14 turning 15 in 2 months and I just wanna be prepared by then so I’m taking notes early and getting informed. Even though I’ll probably move out when I’m 20. I wanna adopt when I’m like 25 so I really have to make sure I’m financially stable by then
@rosinamerola3416
@rosinamerola3416 3 года назад
@@molahselulan8992 adopting is a really difficult process, it can take a really long time and I highly doubt it ill be made easier for someone as young. And by the time you are 25 your idea probably changed. you might think you will have it figured out by then. Its awesome to have clear objectives and plan ahead but I wanted to let you know that you are way too young to imagine realistically how things will turn out, so don't feel like a failure if you get to 25 and it isnt what you pictured. Work towards it, but if it isn't there yet, its fine. I'm telling you this because it would have saved me a lot of frustration with myself to know that. Somethings we cant control and you cant plan ahead them.

@gwendolynrobinson3900
@gwendolynrobinson3900 2 года назад
Do not be afraid to ask people if there's any furniture they want to get rid of or give to you. Don't break your bank trying to get a dresser. Hand me downs are a great place to start. My parents are letting me take all the furniture in my room that used to belong to them, they're basically letting me take whatever I want from the rest of the house that they've owned for 15+ years and kinda want to replace anyhow. I'm very blessed in that sense that they offer it to me, but if your parents haven't then just ask if there's anything they're okay with parting with. Ask your neighbors or friends or other relatives. You don't have to hold onto them forever, they don't have to match, but some things like a sofa or bedframe or dresser will make you very happy to have straight off the bat.

I put in an application for my first apartment 4 weeks ago today. It’s getting ridiculous at this point! The place I’m in now with my parents it took 2 days for them to hear back. 4 weeks? I’m about to just say screw it and apply for a new place. It’s genuinely annoying.

Can someone help me with getting some idea about how to convince my mom about living alone? i never get any privacy and they always send me far away from home so i thought i should live alone more earlier than other siblings 😀 They might think it's too early for a 18 years old to live alone.
