I grew up in Belmont... back when the area code was 415! If you're visiting, go to Twin Pines park, Ralston mansion (interesting history!), Waterdog lake (lots of great trails around), Lorenzo's sandwich shop, Village host pizza, and Gin Mon Chinese restaurant are all great options around Carlmont Center.

Regarding public transportation; no mention that Belmont is one of the many stops along the Caltrain line???
