My main complaint is honestly unnecessary damage. I have no issue with a bit of hard modification for ease of life if there's no way around it but honestly this one was just a bit silly. Anyway, I hope this helps someone :)

Following your videos Ive just done the Delkevic downpipe's upgrade £310 delivered. Your video helped loads, but i did connect the air fuel thing first by spinning the exhaust section onto it, then supporting that while i got the headers connected...no twisting :) I used the standard end can but had to remove the end can gasket thing from the old exhaust...tbh i think Delko should supply a new one just for ease. Running isn't bad ( it wasn't perfect before..) but an ECU flash is needed. I'm going to use P3 here in the UK, but their video on getting the ECU out requires most of the back end of the bike to be removed.... however your video makes it look easy!! , ill report back next month - finances permitting ... Cheers GB keep up the upgrades :) great videos sir

Congrats on the lovely noises :D That's fair, I've always done the twist method and never had an issue, plus it's the lazy man's way....and I am very lazy. I like the path of least resistance when it comes to these things :D I don't think I even had a gasket on my end can from memory, either way I've had no leaks now and even done a track day with it! :) Yeah the ECU flash honestly transforms the bike!! I haven't heard of them! But if course I also wasn't looking at UK shops :) It's very very easy this way, literally 10 minutes!! I hope it all goes nice for you and best of luck with the bike! Thanks!

You clearly do not get enough credit for this way to remove the ECU. Literally took me 3 minutes. Didn't cut anything, didn't spray any lube. Just wiggled out. Easy peasy brother!

Just removed mine today. its a 2022/23 Euro 5 bike. on my bike it has a cage underneath the ECU which basically stops you getting it out that way as there is a metal tab coming of off the front of the cage on the right hand side, this seems to stop you from being able to pull it out from the front, i looked at all options but the only option i could see on the Euro 5 bikes is to remove the plastic tail and the tail tidy etc and drop the plastic under tray down a bit so you can get at the 3 allen key bolts from underneath. this will then release the cage so you can then push the ECU down of off those metal tabs and unplug it. saying that its still not a long job, half hour max and that's the first one i have removed, so if doing it again on someone else's bike i think i could do it quicker. either way its not a hard job and no cutting needed. hope this helps someone with a Euro 5 bike.

Never used Ivan's. Did an FZ-07 and FJ-09 ECU flash. COMPLETELY tranformed both. Stock exhaust on both. Don't like the extra noise. Why cut those mounts for the ECU? Thing will be jumping all over with every bump. Come on people!
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 6 месяцев назад
The stock exhaust was a bit too quiet on this but the headers combined with the stock Akro muffler sounds lovely, and not too loud at all imo. I also hate just pure noise stuff. A nice tone is the way to go. I have no idea man. So many people commenting on the forums how it was great too. It made me sad.

Do you have to remove the battery to remove the ECU? I'll be doing this in a few days to send to Ivan's.
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 2 месяца назад
@@Twin_solo_az you definitely have to disconnect it and I'd recommend removing it to make sure there's no mishaps with accidental contact etc. That'd be a very expensive mistake to save a minutes work. Technically no you don't have to remove it though, just disconnect.

Thanks mate, I'm planning on similar mods to mine and your videos have helped lots. I'd seen the dudes making the ECU removal look like an engine rebuild and thought I can't be arsed doing it. I will definitely get the ECU flashed now I've seen how easy the removal should be. Thanks again.

Glad they have! That's why I make them :) Haha I know I saw a lot of the same stuff, then looked at it myself and was like "hold on this is not that hard".

What did you do in the end for testing exhaust leaks?

Borrowed a smoke tester from work. Checked it over with that.

I have a 2011 Z1000. Ivan’s tune made the bike so much more rideable just removing the jerkiness on and off the throttle.

I'm so far very very happy how it's performed with it, I got it for better performance at the track tho so we'll see how it does there.

Bang on. When I was working as a mechanic in my younger days it used to really annoy me when other mechanics would rip and tear rather than do the job properly. The bike will be a beast when you are finished.

I was honestly blown away seeing so many people cut the rubber mounts and were all happy out, an ECU does not like to be shaken about, those are rubber isolation mounts :D It's actually all wrapped back up, it's very very nice. Videos on the way!

If I ever get a bike as nice as yours. I promise I will not cut any wires. You deserve to feel excited. Enjoy man. My favourite Mod is the accelerator. Nice to have.

You have a bike as nice as mine! Wire cutting is fine, just not rubber cover cutting :P Its a beaut, so much fun man :) Hahaha the accelerator is definitely good

Excellent video and nice to see how easy it is without cutting anything. I have the same bike/year and I am about to do the Ivans tune with the airbox mods and Akropovic headers. Thanks again for the excellent videos/tutorials. The Z900RS is a great machine. Have fun Dude!😁👍🍻

Glad it was useful! Usually with a lot of this type of thing I don't need to make a video as it's been covered to death, but this one everyone was chopping things! You too!

Sound advice sir! I hate the idea of cutting lumps off for no good reason!! Best mod? Mmmh difficult - I think the series of mods you've chosen are all spot on for your track/road enjoyment, so hard to isolate one mod. Maybe exhaust for the sound? Anyhow, I predict the "chuckleometer" will be firmly in the red during your trial runs, haha. Cheers, Andy.

Especially when a few minutes and two bolts gets you there :D The headers are a great choice :P They sound absolutely amazing out on the road :) Hahaha it was and will be for the foreseeable future I think :D Hope you're feeling better!

Look at you being all sensible and smart with "remove a bolt and flex this piece so you don't have to cut the tab". This is why you’re the best! Uber Zee gonna be nice to see on the track.

I was looking up how to remove it, the service manuals way is nonsense and then I saw all this cutting and it made me sad 😂 Sensible or lazy who knows :P I cannot wait just wish the rear sets were in budget so it was "finished" yano. :)

I'm generally opposed to cutting holes in things 😂😂 I kind of wanted to do it iteratively. If I like this and it proves reliable I might do the holes and stacks mods with the increased rev limit. Thanks!
