Expensive planes aren't always the best, I own a lot of really good and expensive planes, but now I fly only the ones from X-hangar. It started with aquring the C130 through redeeming my points at the store, now I own 5 X-hangar planes, and they are my absolute favorites. There might not be pbr textures and whatnot, but these planes can be tailored to your every need, and I get the impression the flight model is well made.. so yes, I'm a very happy customer of X-hangar :)

Skip. I really enjoy the videos and the way you present them.Ive recently become interested in aviation with the X Plane 11 program to start.Your explanation and ease of instruction are incredible!I am now looking forward to many more hours playing with all the new found features that I never cared to look at much til I was up in the air, not nearly easy as I originally thought.Could never understand why the plane would suddenly nosedive and such til I watched your videos.Trim wheel ?,elevation wheel? no idea until about twenty minutes ago.I'm happy I found your tutorial thank you very much

Thanks Skip, I did download and fly the planes you made available. I can use my RealSIMGEAR GNS530 on the original, but since you use the GNS430 in your customized planes I am not able to because I don't have that GPS. No worries though, other planes I've downloaded and paid for via the X-Plane org store, i.e., the V35 Beech Bonanza, Piper Cherokee 140, and obviously the DeHavilland Beaver, don't have that GPS either and I enjoy flying them just the same!

Hey Skip, thanks for keeping me posted on what you were finding out about this last month! I've been on the road a lot in the meantime, but I've been able to try it out and even rework the panel into (more or less) the configuration of the 172Gs I'm training in. It's really handy! Just downloaded it. Works great! Thanks. I am learning on a 1979 Cessna that is very similar. I really wanted the carb heat option so I could practice that. I assume the carb won't actually ice up if you don't use it though right?

Skip how come you don't have MSFS 2020 and you don't make videos anymore You were the best RU-vidr I'd like to watch for flight sim

Hi Rickie4, I don't have MS2020 for several reasons. First it doesn't allow for multiple monitors, I have 4. It doesn't t have the airplane I want to fly (Cessna 172N) , and I don't like the idea of needing to be connected to the internet. Probably tie biggest reason though is the information they collect when using it. Here's a link to a video I did on my thought on MS2020. Two reasons I've not made more videos lately, I'm not sure what to do next so I'm looking for ideas. But more importantly I'm 77 years old and for the last year I've been struggling with cancer and the effects of the treatment that has slowed me down, it's not life threatening but has made life a little more complicated and the motivation to make videos isn't there right now. If you have a suggestion for a video let me know and I'll "consider" making one. Unfortunately my experience is limited to the Cessna 172N and VFR flying for beginners, that's where I'm comfortable making videos so keep that in mind. Thanks so much for these planes! I have a question regarding the ones with the Garmin 530. I don't see a "Nav" button on the Autopilot. How do I engage my 530 flight plan? Thanks!

Hi Dave, Right above the Altimeter select "GPS" on Source switch and "Auto" on Flight Director switch. Just to the Right of the switches you should see buttons HDG, LOC. ALT, & APP. To engage AP for the 530 click the CDI button on the 530 so GPS (in green) is displayed above the CDI button and click the LOC button when you want to activate the flight plan and you should be good to go. Sorry to say no, I don't think they are going to do much with this airplane anymore guess it didn't do so well that's why they gave it, so to speak, to me but you never know. I'm hoping they will continue to work on it as it's my favorite airplane and the one I fly in real life. No one else makes a 172N for X Plane that I like. Blessings, skip

How do you install this on X-Plane 11 Windows 11? Also I could not find the Airplanes Folder so I just dropped it on "Aircraft" folder and soon I did that my CD drive pop out asking me to load a rewritable CD. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Skip.

Hi Brewed, Sorry you are having trouble. Just download the airplane zip file and unzip the airplane folder into you X-Plane/aircraft folder. In the X Plane/Aircraft folder is a list of additional folders I suggest you create your own folder and then save this Cessna in your new folder. Nothing more needs to be done, no install routine or anything. XP should find the airplane the next time you start XP. Hope this makes sense let me know how it goes. Blessings, skip

Good on you skip. How do you compare the xplane model to flying the real thing? I am currently training for my recreational certificate in the Tecnam P92. So I decided to purchase the plane for my sim to play around at home and I am pretty disappointed with it. It does not resemble the real thing.

Thanks Rosairo, It's really hard to compare but I believe XP does a really good job. The hard part is we don't have really good equipment for a good comparison. I suspect if we had professional controllers, Yoke, Joystick, Rudder Pedals, etc. that would make a huge difference. For example, I just purchased the Honeycomb Yoke and that made a big difference in my ability to control the airplane. The consumer Yokes etc. are fine but you get what you pay for and plastic shafts and parts can't be as "smooth" operating as profession equipment.
