how is this an expression of a Fourier transform? I know the Fourier transform first wraps a wave function of a sound around a circle, and then the center of mass of the graph is measured according to where the peaks of the wave are, and then that in turn also gets graphed, which is the Fourier transform? I just looked it up quick, to understand your comment but I'm afraid I don't yet, but I'd love to know how this represents a Fourier transform! Just explained in simple terms 🥺
The chaos is pretty but there is something special about symmetry and beautiful patterns. Some of it was like if a flowers petals were made music. The spirals were always nice. The most jarring part was a double synced line, but right after was so beautiful!

idk why I just thought of this, but this is the stuff that should play in those tv channels aimed at babies during the night, idk if cbeebies or babyfirst are still a thing. it's nice, soothing, peaceful and quite hypnotic; it'd be a much better replacement for some programing during the night time.
After watching this a while its strangely soothing also if you focus on one bead you hear it but you take your focus off its drowned out try it with your headphones backwards too so trippy I feel this is something Stanley Kubrick would have used if he made another Kubrick horror film like the shining
I guess you could use this thing as a metaphor for life: no matter how bad and chaotic things seem, you just gotta hang on and keep going because it will eventually align itself to be good times again.
@@institutosoberania Which will turn back to good again. How you choose to take life effects how you live life. There will always be bad, probably more bad then good. Good times aren't easily found, but keeping those good times in your heart and not letting the bad get to you is the most important thing you can learn to do in life.
Practically, the loop is only 7 minutes and 30 seconds long but, in theory, it is 15 minutes for the loop to start on the same side. There are a lot of cool cadences and ideas I recognise from school (I study music) and I never truely realised how deeply rooted these patterns are to nature. There were also some really cool voicings like quartal voicing etc. and some cool circle of fifths-based melodies!
@@shehannanayakkara4162 oh yes, thank you! I got confused! 7 minutes 30 seconds is half a loop but, enharmonically, it has already completed the loop as the image mirrored horizontally is completely identical.
Because the timing/speed of these events is sort of arbitrary (only needs to be synchronized in a relative sense), this simulation can be arbitrary sped up or slowed down such that a full cycle occurs at any time. 15 minutes was probably just chosen because it is a nice time to work with.
With all the patterns and beauty that unfolds its fun to think that we are still just hearing 25 unique pitches metronomically recur at their own rates totally independently . in fact if you start focusing in on just one at a time it's its own little experience within the experience

not that sure that everything is tuned like this in life, but in a way we all get what you mean. if we are free, great accords come from our will, or god's will maybe, if we are free, it's not that mathematical. :)
There is something about these videos that are just hypnotising. It really makes me feel a lot more tired, which is great, because I usually find these videos quite a bit into the am. (It is 2am here now) It's a mix between both the sound, but also the visuals that's just stimulating me in all the right ways to actually make my brain slow down and want sleep. I see people in the comments calling this just a perplexing, plot-driven, award-deserving performance, and I feel like theyre exaggerating, but i shit not, those were my exact thoughts as i stared deep into the rainbow for an hour straight. As they wiggle from like seven lines down to two and then wiggle back to the one perfect line had me just giddy. So satisfying, going from the teeth-clenching piano-mashing when all the dots hit the bottom at the same time to the beautiful twinkles after leading back to the one true line to repeat the process again..... man.
Everything is "music", but really This Is not "music" and more of an "experiment". People are able to trip out on anything in music, if they focus hard enough. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. This is just the notes of the major scale being played with a pendulum wave... The "Ionian mode" in music is basicaly the: Happy, holy, joyous, and childlike, ultimate sound of positivity. It is very inherently easthetically pleasing, consonant and stable. The problem with this is that it does not have any kind rythmic accent that presents harmonically strong sounding notes, it basicaly just slowly weaves through all the possibilities one after another that are produced by the pendulum wave. There is no sense of conciousness behind it and that is why it is not "music" and not really that great. Not bad but, not great... Just an experiment and a curiousity. They could change the scale, do this again and it will sound totally different, but still process in the same way rythmically.
From a purely reductionist standpoint you're absolutely correct. It's just a series of basic notes that play at exactly repeating, slightly different intervals on a pleasant scale in sync with the motion of dots along a curved line. The problem is that reductionism is inherently incompatible with sensation. Sure, the major scale induces positive feelings based on association. Sure, watching things move back and forth is satisfying and causes the mind to unfocus. The point isn't the components or musical technique or the exact mathematic ratios of the balls' timing, it's that for a lot of people sitting down and watching dots bounce and hearing a little sound when they do is, on an instinctual level, pretty cool.
Its a fractal analogy for the rythmic oscillation of a vibrating, reoccurring universe. You can find analogies from everything to Einsteins special relativity to Buddhist philosephy encoded in this. its beautiful because its us.

This rainbow seems to mirror the nature of our existence. Our lives are always in a state of constant flux. There are times when everything appears to align perfectly, and we wish for it to remain unchanged. Yet, inevitably, change occurs, bringing with it new patterns and circumstances. Stability in life remains elusive, yet instability is necessary for life to continue.

You can actually hear them all hit at the same time before that, half on the left and half on the right, but they all hit so they’ll make the same noise,
if you skip arround in the video you can see that at the 3:45 mark there is 4 "lines", and if you skip over to 7:30 (double the 4 lines) you can see 2 "lines" then at 15:00 there is one line. So you can actually predict when its gonna do stuff. the wave acually also resembles counting in binary in that if 8 "lines" where the fist bit, 4 "lines" where the second bit, 2 lines where the third and so on, it acually counnts in binary.

The plot was brilliant! An absolute masterpiece! Simply magnanimous! I especially like the part where the dots bounce back from their lowest point in a plot twist that absolutely nobody would ever see coming. The level of subverting of expectations will be an inspiration for generations to come.
This is awesome! It is basically a musical version of a question I saw in a maths exam a few years ago, to calculate the harmonics and period of a set of points rotating at various radii. THe biggest difference though, is that experiencing this is far more entertaining than answering that damned question.
