As soon as you put Albert on your lap, he started yawning. As a trauma therapist, I know that’s a sign of him releasing some of the trauma that kept him in that frozen state. Very heart warming to see him settle into your love and stop shaking. Albert is a sweetie. Thanks Rocky for everything you do for dogs.
Hi Rocky, I'm a 90 Year old Australian woman . I was, earlier in life, a dog behaviourist so I have nothing but admiration for you and how you treat those poor abandoned puppies. My life has been my dogs and I cannot imagine myself ever giving up any of my 26 dogs. I want to adopt all the puppies you have worked with. My heart went out to the little terrier you coaxed to stop trembling so I hope he goes to a good home soon. Great work.
.. well, saying 'bless you' for your life's work is not nearly enough! How wonderful that you are 90 years young, & able to care for 26 fur buddies! 💖💖💖💐 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐶
I had caught a dog and a pet cage and he was so brutally beaten I took him home and he screamed like a baby he went in the corner of the of our house and just curled up in a ball and I picked him up and I hugged him and kissed him and told him how much I love him he sat in my chair with me all the time he cried and screamed for 4 months and he turned out to be the best best little dog he was partial and park terrier and he was the love of my life
But maybe when you're not traveling, you would consider fostering dogs. Our local shelter is constantly asking for short-term Foster's especially for the sick dogs. You would be perfect for that because you don't have any other pets that could catch contagious diseases. They just need a quiet place while they recover from various sicknesses. And they usually just need a home for 2 weeks or a little more.
I worked full time for many decades and did a lot of overtime and wanted to have a pet. A dog wasn’t a good option for me so a friend suggested a cat. Have been a cat owner for decades now. I just adopted two cats that are sisters and they are still only a few months old but have grown into two beautiful cats and are very friendly.
Seeing a dog that afraid just hurts my heart. So innocent! The trembling made me cry. How anyone can neglect or mistreat an animal is beyond my comprehension!
Perhaps this lil pup was separated from his family or life happened, looks like he's known love. He knew what it was when he felt it. Lil Albert is a internet star today and his prospects are bright! Today is a great day:)
@@iyamwhatiyam547I don't cut people that much slack. 99.9% of the time, it's low life irresponsible narcissistic people who hate themselves and hate the world. Slf loathing is a horrible thing.
Whenever I've watched too much 'news', political nonsense and negativity, I come here for the antidote. There IS good in the world. There IS positivity in the world. There IS love in the world. Rocky, you are a beautiful spirit. Keep on shining!
I quit watching the news a while ago, too much strife. Then I sat around and listened to the birds. Then I discovered the dog channels and this one really got to me, but I know I can see a good result and I heal a little as Rocky helps a dog begin to trust and heal. Good stuff. Thanks to all who help keep this going.
I don’t know how to get a message to you. So, I will just post this and cross my fingers that you read it. I want to thank you for teaching me how to get a very timid rescue to warm up to me, by offering treats. She would not take them from my hand, so I left some in front of her, then from my hand. Then I brushed up against her paw and eventually got her to trust my touch. I took her home and she is the most beautiful, gentle, girl. Her name is Rose, and she is very sociable with humans. Amazing transformation that could have gone the wrong way had she been pushed or forced. Thank you so much for all that you share.
Last May I rescued 2 tiny older shelter dogs ages 11 and 7 with no teeth. I tried softer treats but they aren't interested. They are so timid. Any ideas how I can show them love without terrifying them?
I had pebbles for 11 years. She was born on Valentine's Day February 14th 2000. We were together for 11 years and she crossed over February 26 2011. I'm still convinced to this day that I was so broken hearted even the sky started to cry and it started to rain. She was 4 inches tall and 4 inches long with a heart the size of a song and I put a bell on her collar so when I couldn't see her I could always hear her. even though she's been gone for 13 years I can still hear her little bell ring and I know she is right by my side. I still love my dog with all my heart and I will for the rest of my Life!!❤️💕❤️
Li'l Albert reminds me of Romeo. Almost fifty years ago, my grandmother took in a stray dog named Romeo. He looked a lot like little Albert, only much older: few teeth left, each sticking out in a different crazy direction. Romeo had many patches of hair missing, and his eyes seemed to be looking different directions. Grandma liked to hum and sing to herself, and Romeo always joined in the chorus: howling. Grandma was getting on in years too, and they made a colorful couple! Thanks Li'l Albert, for bringing me a pleasant memory!
LOVE hearing about Grandma and Romeo. My grandparents had a chihuahua for something like 25yrs. He was a stray they took in, so had no info on his age etc. But Boy was always a big part of my life growing up. As Rocky always says "Dogs are AWESOME!"
OMG!! The tears started flowing when he started taking the treats!! He’s so much better than when you first walked in. I feel better too. Thank you, Rocky, for all you do for these scared animals…❤️🐶❤️
Oh, Albert! This one is so special! To go from shaking and terrified, to sitting calmly in Rocky's lap taking treats... that's beyond AMAZING! I feel like it was a combination of Rocky's patience, calm voice, and reading of the viewer mail / t-shirt... it all played a part! Now let's find him an incredible home of his own!
My 🩷 wants to believe Albert got out of his house or yard. I hope his family will find him. If not, I know someone else will love him forever. Thank you Rocky for all you do.
I’m in love with this darling little puppy. Has he been adopted? Albert is so gentle & needs love but he’s depressed & feeling unwanted which breaks my heart. I live in Australia which is only a flight away! Please let me know if you would consider me? He would never be alone, he’d be fed the best food & we’d go for walks in the park next door. I’m in a retirement home so he’d have lots of human & canine friends & he’d always be safe. Please let me know if he’s still available, I doubt it as he’s the perfect little fella for a family or a single (widow) like me but if I don’t ask I’ll never know if he was snapped up & is happily settled with a super lucky new family. Im going to sit & anxiously await your reply in
Rocky-your constant chatter in a deep voice while working with these little ones is a great source of comfort to them. It gives a quiet reassuring surrounding in another loud/empty cage. Thanks for your patience and acceptance is so loving for them.
My last dog, Jessica came from the RSPCA. I saw her from across a yard from the kennel she was in about 20 yards away.... she was haunched and rooted to the spot and literally vibrating with fear. In that nano second I first saw her.... she had a home for life. I had no idea if she was in fact a boy or a girl or what age she was. I went straight to the reception and said I WANT THAT DOG. One week later she came home with me and spent the rest of her life doing what she wanted to do when she wanted to do it.... she wanted a lot of walks.... and lots of steak bless her. I could never repay the love she gave me.... never.
That sweet, beautiful face … he needs a family desperately. My min pin was left taped up in a box with her puppy. She only weighed 4 pounds, absolute skin and bones, and covered with sores. She is the most loving dog I’ve ever had. How she can trust humans after being starved and abused is just miraculous to me.
All my aninals are spayed or neutered as soon as they are old enough. My husband and I found and re-homed 15 dogs over a five year period. We kept one that no one wanted due to his size. We also found our cat in the dumpster. Thank you for sharing these stories and helping these little one.
We have a dumpster cat, too. Most amazing, loving cat I have ever had. Still very fearful of strangers, especially men, but so loving and affectionate that I don't think I'll ever have such a loving fur buddy again.
@sharoncruzen1942 That's awesome. Unfortunately I lost my husband four years ago but I honor his memory by doing what I can to help our furry friends and I have just opened my home to my first foster dog Harley.
Oh my gosh that poor little one so frightened. What a cutie, those eyes are breaking my heart...I would definitely have picked him up in the parking lot and taken him home.
I just rescued a little barely year-old kitten and she has changed my life completely. I was so alone before he’s taking a while to warm up to me but now she’s stuck on me 12 hours a day! If she’s not eating, playing or popping she curled up next to me!
" To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world." Thank you for all you do! Thank you for being you. You have a big heart. ❤ 🐕 ❤
Oh, my God, I am in tears. The moment he took the first bite from you, and then was willing to start eating from your hand. I am praying for Albert. Thank you for all that you do.
What a cutie. Whoever adopts him will be so lucky. Terriers typically have a lot of energy and need exercise and mental stimulation. But they will make you laugh every day. So full of the joy of life.
I'm 66 years of age and have 2 wonderful bunnies, giving them a forever home from the shelter. But half way through this video I fell in love in love with Albert! Dave
I lost my big boy greyhound a few weeks ago and it broke my heart. I’d do ANYTHING to get him back so it really upsets me when I see these stories of beautiful dogs being abandoned. We don’t deserve dogs. They are so much better than us. Dogs never mistreat us, dogs never abandon us, dogs never abuse us. I love seeing the results of the hard work you put into showing these dogs that most people do care. When Rocky tells the dogs that he’s “sorry and you don’t deserve this” and “ you’re a good boy/girl” it gets me every time. 😢😢😢
@@angusvansatriani784 sorry, I should’ve been clearer. He isn’t missing, he was put to sleep, he was old and became very unwell very quickly so it was the right decision to end his pain.
I've worked in greyhound rescue for both Italian greyhounds and ex racers. They are very close to my heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. But after you take time to honor your boy, I am 100% sure you will find there are countless furkids who would love to be by your side 💜
@@violetfemme411 we are 100% adopting another. We currently have another female greyhound and she is affected by it too. She is more clingy and quieter than usual (even for a greyhound). We are grieving my boy but will definitely be rescuing another as soon as the time is right.
That little bit of, "grooming", ie, licking his paw, then stretching his front paw out towards the end, says A LOT! 🤗 I'm not a, "little dog", person, but I'd take him, if I could, because he hit my heartstrings❣😍
This sweet boy will be someone’s best friend and make them so lucky. He looks too clean to be abandoned. But who knows why people do the things they do. Hopefully he’s just lost and the owners are looking for him. Albert’s a doll. ❤️
I hate his shaking. I know how bad the little guy feels. His eyes were so sad, & scared, could see the difference not long after he picked him up. Alberta stopped shaking, his eyes were open wide & looking around. I hope someone has given him a loving home.❤ ❤❤
Rocky, once Albert was ready for the scoop you could just see him feel safe & grateful for your love. He relaxed enough to notice he was really hungry. You are probably the first person to gain his trust in a long time. It reminds me of how I adopted my beautiful but terrified little Gracie. I love your ❤ , and I love my Easily Distracted by Dogs Merch! I think you just saved Albert's sweet little life. Thank you for all you do.❤❤❤
Doesn’t seem like he has been treated well to be so scared. I am hoping for a new LOVING family that will be patient with him to bring him out of his fear with love…❤️
Poor little guy. He reminds me of our min-pin/chihuahua cross that we adopted about 18 months ago. He shook non-stop, hid under the furniture, and bit both of us out of fear, more than once. It took a while, but he mellowed wonderfully, and has turned into a real sweetheart. Dogs like that aren't for families with kids, though. They need experienced, adult owners. I hope he finds someone who adores him.
My son found a small dog in the parking lot of dollar general. He said the clerks said she had been there for weeks they had been feeding her. So he left his name and phone number if someone was looking for her. He brought her home and he showed her to us. She looked like a small Beagle mixed with another small breed. We walked into his house my son told us she had not barked or whined. When I walked in she started crying I felt so sorry for it was like she was crying & trying to tell me what had happened. We all fell in love with this little girl she had a permanent home. We took her our Vet and he estimated she was about 8 years old. We gave her the shots. About 6 years later she had Cancer in her mouth and it was fast growing. Within 2 months the pain seemed unbearable we had to put her to sleep. I grieved a long time about my sweet Katie. She was the sweetest little angel I had ever had. Still missing her.
You rescued her and gave her her best life. My loving Gypsy also had fast growing mouth cancer. Other than that, she was healthy and active. We also eventually had to let her go. Rescues are the best! All our furbabies have been rescues.
I wish Albert was closer to me! He’s exactly what I need after loosing my 14 yr old rescue dog almost 4 years ago. Honey was my companion and friend for 13 years, and I miss her . I’m in the UK, but maybe it’s time I started thinking about a new fur baby. Big hugs To Albert, I hope he finds a great forever home. ❤️
I love this pup but I live in western Pennsylvania and it’s so far away. He’d probably be terrified to travel all that way by plane. Good luck Albert. I know someone closer will scoop you up!🩷
Whenever you begin to tell the dogs that its not their fault and that they are loved, the world is good and that there are good people who will take care of them it just makes me want to sob because it is so bittersweet. These poor babies that are so frightened and scared deserve to be loved and told how special they are just as anyone or any species does and I love that you say this to them!! Keep up the great work that you do!!
You are soo lucky in the US to have such wonderful people to help find new loving owners for this helpless, gorgeous dogs. I wish we had you Rocky in AU. Love your work.
Ohh Rocky 😢 , those eyes and the reaction when you told him he's a good boy ....😊 I was crying till then but You knew he was going to be alright . Love what you do , dude .
@@vtorialyn Saying you love animals more than people does not show you are a caring person like you may have thought... Lol. But nah, surely if you saw a little abandoned orphan boy shaking you'd feel compassion.
@petscraftsandwonderfulthin1279 saying she loves animals more than people doesn't mean she wouldn't feel compassion for a suffering child. Loving animals more than people is a natural response once someone has been in rescue awhile. I know you think you just did something to 'school' her, but really only made it clear you've never immersed yourself in helping animals. People are, more often than not, completely vile. And the sole reason these dogs lose their lives every minute of every day.
@@MG-pj2oo Naturally, I'd choose animals over humans any day too, but it's not right or wholesome. We need to learn how to love our own kind. Humans hating humans and putting ourselves below the animals only makes our problem worse.
