Thanks! I liked the Adam’s, it just didn’t last like I had hoped. But it’s so easy to use it’s no t a huge deal to reapply every couple weeks or so

@@TurnerMobileDetailing just FYI, I tried it twice - once applied normally by hand, and a second time, applied to brand new tyres(*), before they were fitted to the wheels, with a spray gun. On both occasions, it seemed to be tyre flex that caused the whitening - it was only after driving (for the first application, where I applied it to the tyres already on the car), or by simply flexing the tyre walls (tyres off the wheels), that the whitening occurred. I'm glad you seemed to have been successful the second time, but I decided to walk away from it. Just as an aside, I have just discovered Chemical Guys "Tire Kicker Tire Shine" - my initial impressions are very positive indeed! (*) I'm an Aussie, hence the correct spelling 😂

The other factor in the 2nd try with Optimum is you let it sit longer between coats on the 2nd go around. I think, and I might be wrong, that you're confusing the purpose of a coating and a dressing. I believe the coating is intended to make it easier to clean the tire by providing a barrier between the rubber and the dirt so that the dirt remains on the surface and thereby is far easier to remove and arrive at a cleaner surface to apply a dressing and use much less of the dressing : think applying a 2nd coat of spray sealant, how much less you need and how much easier it spreads. That's my take on tire coatings anyway. When you have the time, I would appreciate and love it if you would do a video on dressing knobby off road tires without sling. This is the bane of my existence! Thanks for your efforts and thorough, unbiased tests.

i don't like how optimum brown the tires after you apply the coating and take it for a drive. You will start seeing a lot of browning. This is my experience with any tire coating

Do you think the weather had something to do with the Whittening? I noticed it was colder cuz you could see your breathe and also it looked like it was raining a bit?

That crossed my mind, it was late March when I applied it the first time, unfortunately optimum doesn’t give any recommendations on temperature so no way of knowing. I’m pretty sure it was in the 40s that day.

I am a fan of Adam's Graphene Tire dressing.. Two coats. I don't get the Fireball tire dressing. Didn't work for me, didn't last and the bottle is not user friendly. Very likely to spill.
