We react to without a doubt one of the most outrageous/funniest movies I have ever seen. It was definitely a ride from start to finish and I'm glad I finally checked it out. Thank you guys for recommending it! Like and Subscribe!!!
Dude, would you please stop talking so much? I know you're doing a review on it. But let it play longer than five seconds. I can see why you only have 500 subscribers.
No he is overtalking to try and justify it as a reaction. Also, he has seen it before. He mentioned putting them in the real situation before it was even brought up in the movie. And the way it was mentioned. Come on man. That says for sure you have seen this and are trying to play a reaction. @@skylinerunner1695
How people couldn't (or wouldn’t, which may be worse) see the OBVIOUS satire in this is crazy. The blackface stuff ALONE is very obviously a device to mock method acting and the lengths actors go to for a role. This is one of the best and most hilarious comedies of the past 20 years.
Idk if you remember, but at one point Tom Cruise was off the map for a good while. Everybody thought he lost his mind with the Scientology stuff. This was the first thing he did when he came back, so it was extra, “is that TOM CRUISE?” Hilarious, I think it’s the best thing he ever did
What makes Doney Jr's character even funnier than it is from the setup is that he actually does a really good job playing a typical 80/90s action movie black character. Which is a cliche and a movie trope all by itself. With a few exceptions here and there (for example when the black character was member of a gang - often the ONLY black member of a gang that was mainly white dudes, one Asian looking guy and him - in that case he would usually be played as some kind of hiphop-guy with a high pitched voice "Maaaaaaaaan! This is some craaaaazy shiiiit!") this was one of the standard roles black actors got to play a lot - the always grim big black guy with the dark voice. The "heavy weapons guy". It's STILL a pretty standard character to be in movies, but I think, I hope, that things at least got a little better since then. I have heard rumors that today you sometimes even get a horror movie in which the black character is NOT the first one to die... ;)
Way to hang in there. I tried to show this to my brother in law, and he didn't make it past the crazy intro. That said, this is one of my favorite movies 🎬 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tom Cruises role is my favourite part of the movie, the fact that they approached him about it and he said "Put me in a bald cap and a fat suit and I'll do it" never fails to crack me up when thinking about it. We almost had Owen Wilson in Ben Stillers role in this movie, but they had to replace him because he'd been struggling with depression and made an attempt on his own life a week or two before filming was set to begin. It's a tragedy he had to be replaced but it also gave my third favourite performance in the movie, after RDJ and Tom Cruise respectively
I watched your youtube channel and your content is very good in my experience .i think you deserve more viewers.i will make your channel 10x bigger than it is now with a guarantee
Robert Downey Jr was clearly channeling the great actor Yaphet Kotto, right down to his distinctive walk with the arms straight down by his sides. He even did the DVD commentary using that voice. Still can't believe they got a free pass with the black face, though.
Blackface is NEVER okay under any circumstance. It's too much trauma/history behind it, but this was funny as hell. my black card may get snatched for that 🤣
It’s a satire to Hollywood, not method acting. Alpha Chino literally explains it when he says that he acts in the movie to represent the community because the only important role for a black actor is given to Crocodile Dundee. I don’t know if people don’t listen or if it’s that hard to understand irony.
@@bigsistahtips Great comment. Believe me, I understood the irony, I got the satire, and I listened. It doesn't mean I can't still be surprised that it didn't seem to cause any upset, especially in today's world where every little thing seems to offend someone, regardless of intent or motivation.
This ain't blackface though, blackface wasn't simply a white person playing a black person. Its was actually offensive. People think this is offensive now because everyone says you should be offended., but it's not trying to insult you, which is why you weren't offended but thought you should be. There's loads of black people doing reactions to this on RU-vid and they all think RDJ is brilliant. It's satire of method acting but also the Australian actor his playing is so self indulgent and in character he don't realize how offensive he is lol.@@sidneyjacques.
It is a comedy and at least then people didn't get offended so easily. We even had the movie White Chicks. You can't make either movie as they were today. People get mad about everything.
Seems to me u need to watch this one 2-3 x more to fully understand whats going on . this one is one of the funniest comedies ever made . to bad they dont make flicks like that anymore , sad -cheers
All these kids havent seen Platoon. When Stiller is getting shot up like Elias (Dafoe) at end of Platoon . There are just too many references. Very few reactors realize the main focus is ripping on character actors who go berzerker for their roles and sometimes stayy in character on & off set for months !!! This is one of greatest comedies in history. Anyone who is offended by anything here has obviously never been punched in the face , hit with a rock or shot with a crossman pellet gun pumped 12 X . Nothing should ever be cancelled or even talked about that. Cancel culture dweebs are the biggest sissies in human history .
Very funny and individual reaction to a hilarious show. I'm just a white dude but I figured Downey's character was just a satire of stupid Hollywood star priviege, the goof who's so "sensitive" he thinks he can do any damn thing. Sure you missed the older references, and they're just as funny, but you caught on to more than lots of older folks too.
@@sidneyjacques.Bro, it’s not funny cause there’s a mentally impaired guy. It’s funny because of how Hollywood tries to make movies like that & that’s what they think of mentally impaired people. Nobody is laughing at a mentally impaired person🤦♂️ It’s like you completely missed the point of the film.
The best thing about this movie is within a second movie where someone (RD jr) does blackface, but you can't blame the main movie. Tropic Thunder is about an internal movie where RD jr. does blackface. That's not the fault of the main movie.
