Hey Alex! Please, please, PLEASE do a full album reaction of LP’s A Thousand Suns! You will not regret it. It’s their 4th album and the concept is amazing and unique. Also, the 20th Anniversary of Meteora is being released on April 7th with a couple new songs
The sandman scene in this movie actually made me tear up when I was a kid watching. Such a good motivation for a villain and they did a great job making him believable and sympathetic
@@mage1439 Except he didn't. All Raimi has ever said was that he didn't grow up with Venom, and had to rely on people who knew the character when incorporating it.
The symbiote is a living entity. It experienced everything Peter did when it was bonded to him, and it even had access to his knowledge and memories. And once it bonded to Eddie, he gained the knowledge of Peter that the symbiote learned, including that Mary Jane called him "tiger."
I remember reading there was a bunch of cut scenes like that, including one where Brock went into Peter's apartment after getting the Symbiote, while Peter was in the shower
One of my favorite parts of the movie is when his landlord is the first to realize something is very wrong with Peter. He’s always giving him a hard time about rent and whatever, but it goes to show that Peter is a good person and people around him know it.
Mr. Ditkovich is a good guy. He hounds Peter about rent because it's... overdue. But he never evicts Peter. He even tries to find a "good woman" to be a mom for his daughter 😂
@@jacobcenter7374pretty sure youre right, its the reason why eddie also gets his web abilities and a similar appearance to his suit with a spider logo
The Maitre d’ (Bruce Campbell) is also the ringmaster who introduces Peter as Spider-Man in the 1st movie and the usher who won’t let him into the theater in part 2.
Fun fact about le Maître, making Bruce Campbell's character even better : this characters is French, and didn't say "Peter" but "Péteur"... But that means "whoopee" in French. I don't know if it was intentional, but it's pretty cool. They kept the joke with an Italian accent in the French dub (it's an Italian restaurant in the French dub).
I love that every jump scare in all 3 movies is what we ALL went through as kids. Especially the Norman seizure scene in the first movie. Made sure to ALWAYS turn the tv volume down 😭😂
This was easily my favorite of the trilogy as a kid. Just so many villains. It was awesome. But as I grew up and started appreciating storytelling and character development, the 2nd one stood above. And to me it still holds up in the greater catalog of not only super hero movies, but all movies.
Originally the movie was going to have more horror aspects to it. Such as Peter having a vision to what he'd look like fully bonded to the symbiote, becoming nothing more than a mindless monster. Or that Eddie Brock would have fully assimilated into the symbiote, so in the final scene where Peter tries to pull him out he would have pulled out nothing but bones, contorted because of the goo to have a more evil look to them
@@Tooba-K123 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--qDwBafsPg8.html here's one of the deleted scenes with Peter's vision. Pause as soon as you see Venom and take a good look. The scary part is you can clearly see there's a human inside the symbiote. It's Peter, trapped inside and screaming for help because he's almost fully assimilated into the symbiote
This movie is really good. The cringe is intentional the symbiote doesn't make Peter cool. It makes him not care that you don't think he's cool. Confidence doesn't automatically make someone cool, but it can make someone stand out. The overlying theme of this movie is forgiveness. The only one that couldn't forgive was Eddie so he died full of hate.
The reason there was no closure with Peter and MJ was because there was supposed a fourth film. It would of had Dr. Conners, the college professor in this film and the second, as The Lizard as the villain. The fourth film had fully started production before Sony shut it down.
Every film in the trilogy has a theme. The first one is obvious, responsibility. The second is themed around choices, the theme of responsibility is still there but the idea of choosing between doing what you want to do and doing what you should is a deep theme, the "to do what's right" speech hammers this home. The third film does the same as the second, implementing the theme of the past film (choice) but adding to it, in this film, the major theme is forgiveness, harry choosing to forgive Peter for all that's happened between them, Peter choosing to forgive flint and MJ choosing to forgive Peter as well, of course there's the major theme of ego and pride in the film, letting go of both to do the right thing, but forgiveness takes centre stage.
@@alexhefnerstvmovievaultlex you and I gotta watch the Editor's Cut of this movie together bro... I have it and it's even better version of the movie and this movie is perfect!
Hands down my favorite Tobey Maguire Spiderman film.... when Peter says "Where am I?" in such a subtle way and then the loud dark orchestra comes in with the Black suit Spiderman score it's just amazing... when I watched it as a kid for the first time I was honestly shook but that was the first time I ever experienced chills from a film... Just the best Tobey Spiderman film.. I can't wait for you to see Andrew Garfield's take on Spiderman Alex! Gonna finally realize that Gwen Stacy is the better partner for Peter lol :D
I was 12 around that time so I was right there with you fam. I guess the people older than us thought it was trash so now everybody else just followed suit in not liking it. I was already prepared for the black suit cause of the cartoons. So when I saw the poster, I was hype! I already knew venom was comin. Now that I’m older, I can say that they did put too much into it but i still can’t say it’s trash or bad.
@donnyouttheway4091 it's a really good movie, in my opinion it's better than the first one in terms of like the interest rate of watching it and the funess, spider man 2 still remains the top best in my opinion.
The guy with the magnets is Ted Rami, director Sam Rami's brother, and the guy who puts the ring in the glass is Bruce Campbell one of his best friends who is in all his movies. I love that they are like Stan Lee in his movies, they just show up somewhere.
DUUDE, I've lived for 23 years, and I'm only NOW realizing thanks to you that the actor playing the Sandman is the same bad guy from George of the Jungle. YOU OPENED MY EYES
for the time, the sandman scene was revolutionary tech, I remember having a book about the behind the scenes of the spider-man trilogy and they definitely wanted you to know how much work it took to make sandman, he had like 3 or 4 pages of the whole book just to the cgi
People dislike this one but it was my favourite when I was a kid and it still is from the trilogy. I get the memes and shit but it was just a sick watch
On the subject of the ending, there was supposed to be a fourth movie with Malkovich as the vulture, but Sony pulled the plug and went a different way.
The director Sam Raimi wanted this to be a teamup between villains- his pitch was Sandman and another one called Vulture (who eventually became the villain of Spider-Man Homecoming). Sony pushed Venom as a villain because the black suit look is highly marketable.
It’s so sad when she asks him in the first movie, “Who are you?” and he says, “Just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man”. Then in this movie, she asks him, “Who are you?” and he says, “…I don’t know…” 😭😭😭
this movie is known as an example on how studios fuck up things because they think they smort but no brain and because money and ruin everything. "yea I have the third part ready, the sandman is gonna be the bad guy and we'll continue with the goblin thing from the previous two movies" "hey thats good but you know what people want? that venom guy!" "but.. we'll have to change everything to fit him there, its gonna be crowded af m8, dont you want to wait until the 4th one to make it about him or the next one or something?" "put that venom guy there more villains more money yeah" "fuck this have your venom guy. but after this im out, cya suckeeeers"
Venom really shouldn't have been forced into this movie, Rami didn't feel it was the right time story and effects wise to bring him in. It would have given more time for Harry and Sandman stories. Both are complex characters in the comics. The sand truck would be for all the construction going on around the city. The Symbiote knows all the things Peter had experienced.
Man if they had held off on venom for the fourth one! I think they could've still had the dark side of Peter introduced and built up in the third one, then have the fourth one be about the symbiote taking a hold of his darkness.
I like the Harry stuff a lot in this movie, but where it always falls flat is it's treatment of venom. He's one of the most iconic characters in comics, and the symbiote storyline for both Peter and Eddie is so iconic that when it was promised for this movie and it underdelivered it is really noticeable. There are a thousand production reasons that it was included in this movie but it really should have stood on its own to give it time to breathe. If this movie was just sandman and harry, I think it dodges a lot of the hate. Greate reaction as always!
4:00 to answer your question, most likely not as Spider-man has killed MJ before with his radioactive nut. only in a What If? comic has she survived and they had a child
Don't dis the sandman reveal. That's an amazing scene, a great example of silent storytelling, and they literally had to create new softwares in order to animate it.
Throughout this trilogy, Peter Parker/Spider-Man has battled and defeated most of the Sinister Six, but of course, he didn't know at the time. Also, Gwen Stacy was portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of Ron Howard, the little boy on the Andy Griffith Show!!!
I remember when production on Spider-Man 4 was about about to start, then all of a sudden, it all fell apart. Now, many years later, Sam Raimi via Screen Rant says it still a possibility. Maguire's Spidey's the best and deserves a fitting finale.
Just because an 8/10 is technically lesser than two 10/10 doesn't make it a "bad" movie in the slightest. There's really only two scenes I would change, and I wouldn't take anything else away. Given all of the turmoil of production, Raimi deserves an award that it still came out as good as it did. Also, best Venom, fight me.
This trilogy was from an era before superhero movies went dark. So the "cheesy" stuff was the norm. It wasn't until Marvel started making everything about the end of the world that this series started looking a little silly.
I just tried to watch this and noticed something crazy. So when spider man saves gwyn during the crane breaking.. as hes diving hes dodging all these large pieces of building and debris falling faster to get to her.. as he makes the catch shows them landing... all that debris that should be smashing all around them just disappear becomes it becomes a practical shot...
36:39 - 36:45 Mary Jane: "By the way, I'm getting married." Peter Parker: "Seriously!?" Mary Jane: "Yep, to another astronaut too." (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic)
Tell me he didn't realize the ring announcer from 1, the guy that stopped Peter to go to the Play in 2, and the French guy in 3 were all Bruce Campbell.
Love this movie so much, my parents had to leave me in the theater halfway through cause it was too cheesy for them. First time having to see a movie alone, definitely wasn't my last. So I could really relate to Pete growing up. Seeing bully Mcguire get his was in this movie for a bit was a little satisfying for my nerdy side ngl
Lucy Lawless who punk rocker in this movie and Ted Raimi who plays Hoffman and Bruce Campbell played the Wrestler person in the first movie and he was the person who was the at the theater. All 3 of them was in a Tv series called Hercules: The Legendary Journeys also Xena: Warrior Princess
I smiled when Alex said hey liked pete happy. “Oh i forget your new at this. Give Parker a roll of quarters and five minutes. He’ll get his laundry done and 5 new traumatizing expenses.” the American flag is cheese but Saturday fever spidy gets a pass?!
Really wish we got Spider-Man 4. Sadly it was canceled, but this trilogy is still amazing. So excited to see your reaction to NWH. Also, will you be reacting to the Tom Hardy Venom movies on your road to NWH? It's apart of Sony's Spider-Man universe in a way
@@jkfozul2316 - Well then I'm sorry to hear you have that Opinion, however I'm probably really going to disappoint you because "Green Lantern" is another excellent film just like "Venom" is, and I watch it a few times a year since I first watched it. But you are probably like all the other people who seem to have the misconception that it also is a bad movie. But, if it makes you feel better, I didn't in particular care for "Let there be Carnage" I understand that "Carnage" is a legitimate MCU character, however the movie kind of just didn't have it for me. So at least you have that.
When I was 9, this movie was my favorite out of the trilogy, and even today I think it's still a good movie that I don't think deserves the hate people give it.
The way the black suit/Venom works is that it suppresses the host's inhibitions. So Peter's usual shy/reserved nature is blocked, allowing him to outwardly act how he feels. More simply, it takes the little voice in your head that says "Don't do it", ties it up, and locks it in the trunk. 27:30 Maybe, but the dialogue was *extremely* predictable. 28:25 Yup. This is Peter with self-confidence. Also, this movie was *plagued* by studio interference. It was originally meant to only have one villain, but Sony studio execs wanted to include all the big Spider-Man villains to try and rush into making a larger world (hilariously unaware of what the main Marvel Studios was cooking up: Iron Man and the MCU). Also, Tobey Maguire wanted way too much money. I say he deserved whatever he was asking, but oh well.
Was roaming through YT all day cause none of my favorite reactors uploaded I’ve been caught up with all of them. I refresh this and you uploaded 7 minutes ago😂CLUTCH while I smoke these woods
When you do eventually react to the Star Wars series, here's the order I personally think you should follow: 1. Original Trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return Of The Jedi) 2. Prequel Trilogy (The Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones, Revenge Of The Sith) 3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars seasons 1-7 (chronological order) 4. One-Offs (Rogue One, Solo) 5. Rebels seasons 1-4 6. Sequel Trilogy (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, The Rise Of Skywalker) 7. The Mandalorian season 1 and 2 8. The Bad Batch season 1 9. The Book Of Boba Fett 10. Visions 11. Obi-Wan Kenobi 12. Andor 13. Tales Of The Jedi season 1 14. The Bad Batch season 2 and those are just the movies/shows that have been released so far
I personally think that with how much SW content there is right now, Andor should come before Rogue One, as by the time he gets to it Season 2 (which will be the last season) will probably be released already.
- Wow.... I had no idea there were so many .... kind of makes me feel a little "icky" no offense to the quality of the stuff, haven't really watched many new ones, but doesn't looking at that list just kind of give you a "Milk-It-For-Every-Penny" kind of vibe?
Fun fact: they had to write an entire engine for the sand CGI. In some practical scenes it's corn flour and stuff like that, but in Flint's rebirth scene it's way too advanced for 2006-2007 VFX. Looks a tiny bit off nowadays, but still extremely impressive tech.
The movie still has some major issues but I've grown to appreciate what they tried to do the older I've gotten. The suit didn't suddenly turn Peter into an asshole, it was there all along.
The best thing about this movie is Spider-Man with the massive Old Glory 🇺🇸 flowing behind him with that heroic and stunningly beautiful theme song in the background.
Spiderman 3 is my favorite. I don't care what anyone says. Seeing Peter cut loose and actually start being more than just a pushover really spoke to me ever since I saw it
I just realised the first spiderman movies are when becamme spiderman, when making enemies being spiderman. and when gets corrupted. In just 3 movies i mean thats alot in comparison. The ultimate just became spiderman and lost his gf which is a good touching thing for spiderman cant help but think of spiderman doing a Rocky montage, but i dont get what the tom holland one goes about vulture kills dad of gf and further into the marvel avengers universe.
Get Over It is an overlooked comedy from 2001 that also features Kirsten Dunst singing - Colin Hanks is the older brother, Mila Kunis is the best friend, Sisqo is clumsy af trying to catch Mila's eye, and the parents of the main character make a living hosting an after-hours sex talk show. There's a handful of other very recognizable actors - I really think you'd enjoy it and your brand of commentary would be perfect for it.
They had plans on a 4th McGuire movie, which was gonna have both Vemon and Carnage in it. They had posters made already, but Sony ended up canceling it and decided to go with the Andrew Garfield movies instead.
