I 100% agree on what you say about some "Elvis fans" complaining about the film. Now there are things I would have liked to see, like them recreate the MSG shows for just one example. But people actually call themselves Elvis fans and refused to go see this movie because "the actor doesn't look enough like Elvis" is crazy. watched till the end.

My mom was a huge fan and I was even born on Elvis’ birthday 😂 I think the movie was amazing - sometimes in a movie like this they have to combined events and people to try and tell the story in such a short time. I have see the movie 10 times so far and a cry every time he says - no one will remember me 😭

Hey I love your review! I love this film and I've seen this 7x now! This movie made me an Elvis fan, I had not realize how amazing he was! This movie opened the Elvis mania for me. Because of this, I listen to Elvis daily, I have seen all of his films and have rewatched some. 2-4x even. And have watched interviews, documentaries and read about 5 Elvis books now and about 5 other coffee table books. I'm obsessed and I'm living it! I always defend this film and I find most who complain about it, don't really know much about Elvis and I can counter most in long essay format! Lol!

I think he made a good show of appearing happy when people he cared about were around. Both of those other girlfriend's did exactly what Priscilla did because they realized they were not doing anything to help his condition. AND PARKER WAS STILL PULLING STRINGS.
@Heel_Lucas
@Heel_Lucas Год назад
I definitely understand that the people who were around Elvis would wanna see more of the happy times but honestly it’s important to show just how much Elvis did have to struggle with to show just how much pain was being felt underneath all the glamour of the girls and the money. There was still all the pain of him being held under the thumb of Tom Parker. I’ve also watched other people react to this movie saying how Elvis should’ve just left and pay the colonel back the money later. No way that would’ve worked out. Tom Parker wouldn’t have been accepting an iou. One thing though and someone can answer this for me here. Elvis in the movie said he can sue if he wants to. If Tom Parker did she wouldn’t it have only worked out to Elvis’s advantage after all the dirty secrets that Tom Parker had? Again I’m not sure. One last thing I absolutely loved your reaction to the movie. I’ve been a fan of Elvis’s music but this movie opened my eyes just how important he truly was as a human being as well. It made me into more of a fan I listen to his music once every day now.

If you want to put Elvis back on the map, then do it with facts. The Elvis movie is totally biased in favor of his EX wife Priscilla Beaulieu who, unfortunately, is becoming more and more known as Elvis' wife, not the ex, which can make new fans assume that she is his widow. Alana Nash already pointed out some of the things the movie got wrong i.postimg.cc/Njmq3GZ0/Elvis-facts-Alana-Nash.jpg. Sadly, many new fans are taking this altered version of his story as the truth, so they actually will NOT get to know the real Elvis. It might sound great to many that Priscilla gave the movie her blessing. But the fact remains that she has changed a lot of Elvis history to suit her story. I'm sure he loved her for some of the time they knew each other, but in reality, she barely spent any time alone with him. They met in September 1959 in Germany and he returned to the US in March of 1960. He had turned 24 in January; she had turned 14 in May. Her parents consented in her visiting the house that Elvis lived in where he used to entertain his group of friends, hangers-on and invited fans. Meanwhile, he did have a girlfriend back home of several years, Anita Wood. Priscilla was the youngest of the several girls he saw while in Germany. There were about half a dozen others. But she was the youngest and, per her own words, they did little else than talk. She was an exceptionally beautiful young girl, but hardly as innocent as many Priscilla fans make her out to be. After Elvis returned to the US in March of 1960, he and Priscilla did not have any contact until 1962, the year of her first visit to him in Memphis, from where they (which included his entire entourage) traveled to Las Vegas. She had been writing relentlessly to Elvis and had driven her parents to despair (her words) when she went on a hunger strike when at first they did not want to let her have her way. She was 17 then (born May 24, 1945). In December she visited again, for Christmas. In 1963 she first moved in with Elvis' father Vernon and stepmother Dee, but after a while she moved into the main house. During these years, Elvis was away from Memphis a lot, making 3 movies a year in Hollywood or locations such as Hawaii. And during all these years he was also still seeing other women. Priscilla herself said multiple times they were hardly ever alone. According to Priscilla, Elvis had promised to marry her when she was 21. But as her birthday had come and gone and her 22nd birthday was approaching and Elvis still had not kept his word, Priscilla, her parents and the colonel (Tom Parker) visited Elvis on a movie set. Nobody knows what really happened there, except that some time during that visit, Elvis had a mysterious fall in the bathroom. The most logical thing that happened is that a threat was made that they would go public about Elvis "dating" a minor while in his twenties if he would not keep his promise to marry her. After all: Jerry Lee Lewis had gone through a scandal that people might be reminded of if the Beaulieus had gone public: Jerry Lee Lewis had married his 13-year-old cousin! After the visit of the Beaulieus and Parker to the movie set, all of a sudden everything escalated and a quick wedding ceremony was arranged on May 1, 1967 (23 days before Priscilla's 22nd birthday) in Las Vegas. The strange thing about that was not just the timing, but also that many people who were close to Elvis were contacted by Parker's people to not attend the wedding. The whole ceremony took just a few minutes and afterwards they were ushered into a room for a press conference (listen to what the memphis mafia guys say about them getting married at the 24:33 mark of ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p8blOqK90PM.html). You can hear what Elvis told about the wedding in the recording of the last phone conversation Red West had with him before he died "That wedding thing, that wedding thing. It was in there over and done with so quick. I didn't realize I was married." (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p8blOqK90PM.html). Priscilla soon became pregnant, but halfway through her pregnancy, Elvis already wanted to divorce her. 9 months after the wedding, daughter Lisa Marie was born, after which there was almost no physical relationship between Elvis and Priscilla. By then the 1968 Comeback Special had given a new impulse to his career and from 1969 on he was away from Memphis touring the US for an average of 200 days a year. Both Elvis and Priscilla had affairs during their short marriage. They separated in February of 1972 when Priscilla and Lisa moved to California and Elvis remained in Memphis. He filed for divorce on his 38th birthday, January 8, 1973. The divorce was finalized in October of 1973. Priscilla rejected the name Presley and returned to her maiden name Beaulieu after the divorce, stating she wanted to be her own person. She even started a business under that name. But after Elvis died, she soon changed her name to Beaulieu-Presley and some time after that she dropped her maiden name and started calling herself Presley again. She had several relationships after her divorce. In 1984 she met Marco Garibaldi with whom she had a relationship for 21 years. They separated in 2006. Together they had a son, Navarone, in 1987. She never married Garibaldi, although she had a much longer relationship with him than she'd had with Elvis, possibly because she wanted to hang on to the Presley name. Interesting detail is that Elvis did not mention Priscilla at all in his will; not even as guardian of his only child, Lisa Marie. Elvis' cousin Billy Smith and his wife Jo have already said that so many things are not right as far as things concerning Priscilla are concerned. Linda Thompson is right: i.postimg.cc/hjYL9bkt/linda-thompson.jpg and Elvis' bassist from the TCB band, Jerry Scheff, doesn't hold back and tells it like it is: i.postimg.cc/FK2GdjDc/Jerry-Scheff-Elvis-movie-comment.jpg.
