Something that I like a lot that people wouldn't cue in on at first, but once you realize this is a prequel, the line that the mortician said saying that he has seen this before. That means this isn't even the first case of this happening.
Imagine if there was a prequel to a prequel in these movies and you actually find out where the evil power/force comes from. Like the devil falling down from heaven and turning into some weird force or trying to push through from another dimension like Silent Hill or some sh1t.
Well the novels confirm that this has been happening since the start of death itself as in the books, death itself is giving people the visions cause its bored with it's current plan and wants to have fun tormenting survivors (not a joke death in the novels is sadistic as fuck)
@@gageunruh3574 interesting. I thought since they never really give Death a definitive (confirmed) physical presence or even representative in the films, that Death was more a ruleset than an entity.
HA! I told you FD5 was an act of redemption! As always, a wildly entertaining reaction. I’m glad you enjoyed the kills - we worked hard to make them memorable. I’m particularly pleased with Candice’s death during the gymnastics practice. A crunchy good time! It was a challenge to hide the twist ending. All the flat screen monitors in the office - commonplace now - had been introduced only a few months into 2000, making them ridiculously expensive at the time. Transportation mistakenly got a hero car for the character of Dennis that was actually introduced in 2001. We frantically looked at the civilian cars in the parking lot where we were shooting, found an appropriate make, model and year, tracked down the owner, and paid him to let us use his car for Dennis’ drive-up. The absence of contemporary technology was a challenge. We hoped that having Isaac use a flip phone would make him feel retro… and it seemed to work with his character. The only real hiccup for eagle-eyed viewers is the date on the insert of the gift certificate for the massage gives the timeline away. As for the twist itself, it was originally going to be used in FD3. All the characters who survived FD2 were going to find themselves on the subway at the end. The actors were game but we couldn’t work out the scheduling. So we shelved the idea until FD5. Finding the footage of the actors from FD1 was proving to a hassle as it was so old and the reels were in deep storage. I actually still had the VHS tapes of dailies in my own personal storage, and was able to digitize the footage so editorial could see if the idea of integrating it into the contemporary footage would even work. It did, prompting the studio to go on the deep-dive to find the original negative. Lastly, Gary Dauberman (IT; IT: CHAPTER 2; ANNABELLE COMES HOME; THE NUN; SALEM’S LOT (2024)) did most of the production rewrites. He made a huge contribution to the effort. Thanks again for playing the FD game! I’m writing this in the production offices of FD6 in Vancouver. We start shooting July 17th. Boom!
Haha! There you are, I was wondering when this would pop into your feed. Saw the announcement yesterday about 6 and of course has made me very excited. I'd like to organise an interview with you if possible, shoot me an email whenever you can. If you're too busy, completely understandable as well. Thank you for all the insight!
I think my favorite detail in this movie is that when the plane explodes and Sam dies, he gets cooked in the exact same way Alex originally did in his first premonition, they really went all out on that twist
Your reaction to Candice's death and the plot twist at the end was priceless Also, even though this is a prequel, Bloodworth mentions that he's seen it all before which I can't tell if that was just a line meant to throw the viewer off or he's implying that there was another major accident prior to this movie
I'm sorry but the ZZAVID Intro music when you did the "pop quiz" gag was iconic. I'm not sure if you meant to do that but I want to believe you did! Lmao. Also, when Buddah landed on that guy's head when my brother and I were watching this...my brother leaned over to me and said "Bro really said 'Get a taste of these rice cakes!'" 😂😂 Thank you for watching this! Iconic movie and I can't wait for the 6th film!!
Your cat Milo rubbing his ass on the theatre seat had me dying. 😂😂😂 Other than that this final destination movie was so damn good and was a prequel. The ending had everyone in theatre saying "OHHH SHIT". This is the best one after 3 my guy. 😅
Clicked on this faster than the speed of sound. I don't blame you for taking an extended period of time after suffering from #4 before watching #5. Not. One. Bit. Definitely gets the franchise back on track. FD remains one of my three favorite horror series, alongside Scream and Saw. It's not the violence that appeals to me in these series, by the way. It's the way everything plays out so elaborately that is so entertaining.
The guy and woman not getting off the plane at the end doesn't even make any sense. If they've just been through all that. Alex is literally shouting about the plane exploding and they're gonna ignore it.
@@WilliamLucas-ef6qc In all fairness, the two of them see and hear an altercation taking place but don't know the specifics of exactly what happened. The main character even states so. This was an international flight from New York to Paris, by the way. The capacity of these aircraft are massive, they tend to not just be one single aisle of three seats on either side. It shares a lot of similarities of the IRL explosion of Flight 800, although the series creator disputes that served as inspiration for the first movie. In his own words, the basic premise was a script for an episode of The X-Files, that was made before the actual disaster happened. Anyone near the rear won't have clear line of sight or fully coherent sound of everything occurring. At the point where he's informed of the reasoning behind Alex's freak out, the plane had closed its exit door and departed the docking terminal, so it was already too late. I will admit the engine crushing the last survivor is ill conceived, since it exploded over the water, though.
@@digidv85 It's actually part of the landing gear. It was shot in a different direction due to the explosion. That's what is flying away from the plane before it switches to the memorial. What I find questionable is WHEN did they do that memorial? They had enough time to clear up the confusion with the cops death, AND book a plane to Paris before they held it?🤔
I was eating cereal and when I saw the part where it shows that picture he doesn't know and he still doesn't know almost killed me I was choking 😂 now I can officially say pugapillar almost killed me
Bro I still remember my Reaction when I saw this in Theaters back in 2011. My mind was Fucking Blown. The amount of Gasps I heard in the theater. No one saw this coming. Its the Best thing in Movies! Great Disguise…
Your reaction about bridges is accurate. Fello Victorian’s will know there is nothing worse then being stuck in peak hour traffic on the middle of the West Gate Bridget and you can feel it bounce / sway on a very windy day. My anxiety goes through the roof
Here is something fun about this film. The actor Miles Fisher, who plays Peter, did a music video for his own song called New Romance set in the saved by the bell universe where people keep meeting final destination type deaths...done with the cast from final destination 5! haha The video is called "Miles Fisher as Zack Morris"
@Lugen101 Yeah I saw it and sadly Dustin Diamond would die from cancer in 2021 and the Saved By The Bell New Romance Video was made 10 years before Dustin's death. 🤔😢🧐🪦P.S. Now actor Miles Fisher and his need for speed Tom Cruise CGI spoofs on his channel. He already looks like Cruise, and I said this way back when he was in FD in 2011. 🎥
This movie is so amazing. It was agonizing to wait for this after Final Destination 4 knowing it's this good and you're taking a break because 4 was so bad. But now that we're finally here it was nice to see. Regarding the twist they've mentioned the fact that they're going to Paris so often that I got it before we got to the scene. It's a great twist and it was amazing to see someone else appreciate it the way it was intended to be seen. Keep up the good work, your reactions are always so fun to see, simply because you put effort into it and it shows.
This being a prequel was such an awesome twist! On a second viewing there's a bunch of clues it's set before all the other movies, but who would have been looking for those? And your reaction to the gymnast dying was even better than I expected! Possibly my favorite death in the series. I'm very excited for the next one, as this is my fave franchise!
love the whole franchise so much (with the exception of 4 lol) and this is one of my favorite movies in general !! the twist is amazing and just really ties the whole thing together really nicely .. plus the deaths of course are always awesome to watch !! i’m glad you enjoyed these movies !! great video as always Alex
The further we get away from when this movie was released, the easier it is to get people with the plot twist~^.^ I was very familiar with these movies and had dragged my best friend to the last few, including this one. As we were watching it, we commented on how dated some things like the tech & clothing seemed, but for the most part shrugged it off. (At one point, when Paris was mentioned, it clicked~~~ I had this feeling like I was the character having the premonition! I had a silent freak out in my seat until they got on the plane at the end & then I grabbed my friend's arm so tightly~) Also, I tell you the theater *erupted* when it got to the twist at the end!!!
Glad you finally watched it! I loved the twist ending so much. And your reactions always leave me with a smile even when you don't enjoy the movie (4th one).
This was one of the most stunning endings ai have ever seen. Outside of this one, Scream 2 came remarkably close with Mrs. Loomis aka Debbie Salt being one of the killers and being revealed as Billy's mother. This being a prequel was a huge surprise.
Great prequel. Aww, Milo You had me for a sec; I thought you actually got the part, but I mean, who knows in the future. Congratulations on the sweet chair!
acupuncture does work to a certain extent, they essentially stick extremely thin needles (as there is no liquid there isnt a need for it to be thick enough to have a hole in it) they are put at certain locations that stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue, i have chronic headache and it helped me a bit atleast
You never fail to crack me up, no matter the joke. What a banger of a "sequel" film, too! I'm pretty sure for every movie aside from the first, the beginning premonitions were all inspired by some sort of mass tragedy. For example, the bridge sequence was inspired by many bridge collapses of the past, most believe it was based on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapse in 1940 which held no casualties except for one family pet. Sometimes I feel like it was even inspired by the Silver Bridge collapse of 1928 due to too many cars being on it at once. Over 40 people died, and some bodies couldn't even be found, all over a deep river like in this film. Similar bridge design, too. However, only the people who made this film will say which disaster they focused on most, like the Le Mans racing disaster for the fourth and worst film's premonition. If you still have nightmares of the eye surgery sequence, there's an eye surgeon that reacted to that scene on YT and they debunked it so hard if it helps. Helped me!
Not the cat scooting across. This movie blew my mind when I realized it was set before the first. I’m very curious what the next movie is going to be like
my friend got laser eye surgery, and it was really cool because they streamed the video of the operation in to the room where i was waiting for him. they had a camera mounted to the laser machine so it showed everything. i got to watch the whole thing. it was very cool. My friend was HIGH as ffffff on all kinds of pain killers and muscle relaxers, so he didn't feel anything.
Hey Puggapillar. Guess what. I live in the city where this exact bridge scene was filmed. Also, they filmed part 3 here as well, and the rollercoaster they filmed on is at my favorite theme park. This still makes me anxious to this day.
Yoooo!!! Remember me? The guy who posted that i had cancer? Well i sort of BEAT IT!! So now i'm back to watching your content, it's been a while. My life has been hard and boring.. but now it's gonna go back to being entertained by you! I still love your content and now even more :)
Congratulations man! I'm so glad to hear it, and yes I remember you. I have you comment from before screenshotted in a folder. Glad you have you back, once again. You have a few bangers to watch 🤣
This actually happened in 2007: The Interstate 35W Bridge in Minneapolis, filled with rush hour traffic, plunged into the Mississippi River below. Thirteen people died, and 145 others were hurt.
FD 4 was meant to be the last one, but because people hated it SO much, they felt obligated to give the fans a way more proper send off. This is my theory and I’m sticking to it lol
@Hey_Jamie I heard that theory as well. Apparently, the late David R. Ellis directed the film as well as the second movie in the franchise. I guess he likes explosions💥and fires 🔥LOL! Interestingly enough when he directed the car🏎pile-up in the second movie, they had real people aka stunt doubles driving those cars🚗 which gave the scene more realism.🚙By the fourth film it was all CGI LOL!🤔💻🤷🙆♀
When I was a kid I LOVED the final destination movies so when the 5th came out my sister took me to see it and I was like 8😭 and i left the theater SHAKING.
seriously the twist got me SO good the first time i saw it. i was in shock and SOOO happy about that connection 😆😆 i wonder what they’ll do with FD6 next year 🙃
Now that you've finally seen this, I can say that the gymnastics death and the LASIK death are the 2 worst in the entire franchise for me, with the escalator death from 4 being 3rd worst. Holy shit, man, I legit couldn't look at the screen for Candice's death 😅😂
17:48 had to backtrack to here cause I saw that mug on his desk that said "Dennis Exec of the year" and I thought it said "Dennis the Menace" and was wondering if he's the guy who played the neighbor Dennis the Menace is always being a menace to lol
There is one huge question now for this Franchise, WHERE DID IT ALL START, Who were the first group, because Tony Todd's character said he has seen it before..... I-E before Flight 180- and Before the Bridge. So what was the original huge accident that started it all with deaths list.
The novels go over it. Death has been doing this since the start cause death itself is sentient and sadistic. It gets bored with its plan every now and again and gives the visions to the people itself so they can "cheat" and death can kill them in a sort of fun game it plays, nobody ever actually escapes. The oldest offical report from actually people is from the Victorian era
For years ive been trying to understand if the guy following them was death itself 💀 because he basically saw everything in a big loop, he said he saw something like that but then it happend after, its hella confusing
Lol I purposely live in a city that has no hanging bridges like this because of this film! You will never see me drive on a bridge 🤣😂 I can't do heights either
I love how writers sneak things into movies; 12:05 Here in the US, 86= "Eighty-six is slang meaning "to throw out," "to get rid of," or "to refuse service to." It comes from 1930s soda-counter slang meaning that an item was sold out."
When I got my Lasik (laser eye surgery) done, my doctor actually said during my first visit "Don't worry, it is NOTHING like final destination" 😂 Apparently he heard that excuse one too many times 😅 It really wasn't anything like this movie and was sooooo worth it. Took me months to stop reaching for my glasses when I wake up though lol
I feel like so many of the deaths in this one were so stressful. Like the anxiety is way worse with this one especially the gymnastics, eye doc, and masseuse like Jesus the stressssssssss Also your comment about new people finding you, and this is my first episode 😂
Candice’s death is absolutely brutal and imo one of the best deaths out of the franchise because yeah it is over the top but something like this could happen. A lot of gymnasts do sometimes land incorrectly and while some injuries are less severe than others most are life threatening, landing on your head is not good.
They did a pretty good job of disguising the fact that this was taking place in the late 90s, early 2000s. If it WERE after the events of the other movies, everyone would be on their cell phones or laptops looking into these events.
I find it interesting that the one thing all these films did was point out that Tony Todd's character was just guessing as to what he thought would save each group. No one ever mentions this so I thought I would,
I’ve always thought (when I was like… 12-13 by 2014, when I first discovered FD) there’s was for real gonna be a Final Destination 6, either a reboot or a prequel to the prequel, because when Candyman revealed to the characters the death’s plan, he said “I’ve seen this before, a group lf people survives and the death claims them one by one” and that made me think… WHO WERE THAT GROUP, WHAT THEY WENT THROUGH?! I wonder if FD6 or FDReboot will follow some of that or will it be just a whole new universe, btw loved your reactions, I literally saw them all, I genuinely laughed at some of your jokes 💀 new follower :)
I love how once u know the twist when rewatching u see how “normie” the outfits everyone has on. Lol like the clothing is so plain that it can easily mesh into the time period of the first movie.
you actually pointed out one main thing in this film, that hasn't been done since the first film (which proves this was a prequel) that gust of wind or sign of death that the victims notices something weird is gunna happen. it was always a sign or something obvious. good eye!
I crack up every time the background character shouts for someone to call 911 after Candace has been pretzelfied because there’s not really anything 911 can do when someone has been turned into a human pretzel and the other thing that always pops into my head is that much like Humpty Dumpty Candace is one egg that ain’t gonna get put together again.
