Final Destination was originally a pitch for an X files episode. An episode about Death itself being a supernatural force with a design for every living thing. They morphed it into a movie and tho it stands on it's own, apart from the series, the vibe of X files is leaking from it in every frame. The mystery, the way it's filmed, the phasing, the story. I'd say the original FD is not truely a horror movie but rather a supernatural detective thriller. And it came out at a time where slasher movies were starting to overstay their welcome, it gave a fresh breath of air to the genre since technically this is a slasher...without a slasher. The deaths of not just this one but all the sequels remind me heavily of the series 'a 1000 ways to die'. I wouldn't be surprised they got some inspiration from this. But the deaths in that series are ones that really happened while in FD they mostly are fantasy or overexaggerated. I am curious what you'd think of the sequels.

Fun Fact: The guy that plays Alex in this movie also plays Jakes uncle, dad, and the father in Chucky. He was also in the Stan music video by Eminem

Back in 2011 I went with my parents to Japan, unfortunately while we were flying there was a tsunami that hit and a myriad of other issues, so we couldn't land. There were these headphones you could wear to listen to music or the pilot talking to air traffic control, and my step dad was using them. Turns out we, amongst other planes, were stuck in air traffic control and running out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing in Sapporo :) I had a great time in Japan, best vacation ever!

I will always love the first movie because it started the franchise but Final Destination 2 is the one that's messed me up for the rest of my life. Can't wait for you to watch that one! 🤣

final destination 3 was one of my first horror movies ive ever watched as a kid (besides childs play 2) and i always loved that franchise, so excited ur watching this

Final Destination is the most underrated horror movie franchise, also my favorite opening prediction in the franchise is Final Destination 5.

So excited to see you react to the rest of the movies in this EPIC franchise, all 5 movies are gold for me, even the fourth which many people dislike but I personaly enjoyed that one as well as all the others, the cool visual effects and the gore - what's not to like... my favorite are Final destination 3 & 5 but I love them all! 😍

The teacher’s death sequence was where I had to stop watching this movie as a teen, about a decade ago at this point. Give or take a year or 2. Mostly because all the blood and knives nearly triggered a condition I have(had???) that basically caused seizure like symptoms when I was exposed to fear (and blood in horror movies was the number 1 cause of this). I can watch the movie fine now (haven’t had any fainting spells or episodes of seizure symptoms since 2015 or 2016) but I STILL flinch and aveet my gaze out of habit from that scene, it always feels so, extra, compared to the other deaths of this movie, lol.

This is a very interesting concept for a slasher. 5 movies and a 6 is rumored. Trivia: The Flight 180 crash is based on the very real crash of TWA Flight 800, which is apparently the footage being shown in movie as Flight 180's crash. The tragedy was also part of the creation of the DC character Stargirl, as Geoff Johns' sister Courtney was one of the victims and he created Stargirl as a tribute to her. Also: most of the characters have surnames of famous horror movie directors or actors, like Shreck (the actor who played Nosferatu in the original), Lewton (the director of Cat People) and Hitchcock (don't need to explain this one). And Tod (the friend's name) is also German for Death. These movies are ALL about foreshadowing and clues.

Alex originally did die from grabbing the power line. And Clear gave birth to a baby after it was implied they got busy on the beach. Yep, the original ending had clear and Carter live by bringing a new life into the world. The ending didn't sit well with test audiences. Claiming it was too Schlock. So it was reshot.

The director's cut dvd of final destination 3 has a multiple choice on what the characters do so it's almost your fault if they live or die.

Fun fact for you Alex, the mortician’s name in the credits is William Bludworth which makes him seem even more ominous and creepy, and my understanding of him is that he’s a representation of death.

5:24 No joke but in my early 20s I suffered from anxiety and his behavior is definitely relatable. It's a weird experience to be so anxious, but everything does feel ominous. The screenwriter must know that feeling. 😬

Love this movie. It's original and I see nothing dumb with it. It's creative and creepy. Death's design is life. And this is the best movie in the franchise along with Final Destination 3. But this is a fun series and it has creative deaths. Don't get why anyone would have a dislike for the movie or the idea though.

The openings for the first 3 films are terrifying like the plane one made me nervous about planes, the second one made me scared of driving, and the third just ignited my fear of roller coasters even more

This one was such an original horror film when it came out and the sequels step it up each time. Qith the exception of FD4, I love all of them. They are responsible for some pretty irrational fears (thanks to FD2 I freak out anytime there is a log truck on the highway). Hope you will get around to all of them.

If you thought that disaster was rediculous, look up TWA flight 800. Because what happened on that flight is where the idea for flight 180 started.

I remember that there was an alternate ending. I don't know if I'm completley correct but when Alex saves Clear he dies in the car when it ignites. Clear survives and it turnes out that she is pregnant with Alex's child and that this new life is the key to break death's design.

When I was 3 years old, my dad got a dvd from the market with the title that said “Spider-Man 2”. When I put in the dvd player I found an interest in this character, I thought it would last a few years, no, it's still going to this day, and in anticipation of Spiderman No Way Home I thought I would go and rewatch the old Spider-Man movies, This is the first installment of the trilogy, This movie stars Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco. This movie, in my opinion, is one of the best superhero origin stories. This movie also had a massive breakthrough in CGI with realistic graphics for 2002, The story follows the same origin story from The Amazing Fantasy #15 which is the first comic book that Spiderman appeared in. This movie has a really good way of telling the story of Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), a nerdy teenager from queens who lives with his aunt and uncle,he gets bitten by a radioactive spider and can do anything a spider can, at first he uses his powers to get money to impress the girl of his dreams Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) he signs up for a wrestling match and wins, but they won't pay him, suddenly a robbery steals money from the wrestling company and runs past Peter, he could have stopped him but doesn't in anger of not getting paid, its then shown that peters uncle gets shot by a someone, that someone is the robbery that he let get away. Enraged by this he hunts the man down and wants him dead, he accidently knocks him over an edge, killing him on impact. From this moment on he swears to use his powers for good and to help out the city and takes on the name “Spider-Man ''. Peters friend Harry Osborns (James Franco) dad Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe) is a scientist and he owns a company called oscorp, Norman is about to lose his funding if he doesnt have a successful

There is an episode of the original the twilight zone- season 2 called “”twenty two” and it’s exactly like this movie. Same plot, scenery, etc. Guess the movie makers were inspired by that episode

ehehehe... yeh it's 22 years ago, but it's like yesterday for me becuase my twisted childehood always replaying this movie on the tv.

the masks aren't there for the crash so much as they are there to assist breathing if cabin pressure drops and your oxygen goes. This can happen without the plane actually crashing. Something goes wrong, pressure drops, hypoxia becomes a big risk , hence the masks which will let you breath hopefully long enough for the pilot to lower the plane to less than 10k feet so the pressure will be better and people will be able to breath again, then they'll try to find somewhere to land to figure out what went wrong with the plane. They are designed to drop with pressure changes regardless so that's why we see them drop in plane crash scenes

In this horror movie about a group of students who are scheduled to "fly" to Paris. However when one of them received a premonition of the plane going down he freaks out thus everyone to be thrown out of the said plane

I wanna see the alternate cut where the plane crash never happened and they just go to Paris. That’s it.

Theres a valid reason why some of dialogue makes no sense. Thats because scenes were cut from the movie because test audiences did not like them. But they actually make the dialogue make sense. Like there was a cutscene where Claire explains why she got off the plane. But that dialogue was cut out when they removed that scene. So technically you only got part of the dialogue for scenes.
