Actually why prussia in hetalia still exist in the hetalia universe is that they aperntly share Germany that's why it the comics Germany and prussia they call each other north and west because they are brothers (and somtimes ancient Rome just shows up so its normal )

Lol. In russian part of fandom it's an unspoken headcanon that Prussia is now in charge of Kaliningrad since it's ex capital of Prussia (Königsberg) and not connected to the rest of the country geographycally

Hetalia is one of those things where you have to dumb yourself down for, and just want to watch stupid guys be stupid, and yet its a very large guilty pleasure for me to watch. Also that blue yellow bill thing was a kappa! A Japanese kami that if you trick to bow, the bowl of water will spill out and they can’t move. Also to prevent them from taking and drowning your children, throw a cucumber into ponds and rivers to appease them because that’s they’re favorite foods.

I never had the (dis)pleasure of watching hetalia in high-school. But the one fact I remember about it is that South Korea is in like the first bit of the manga and was supposed to be in the anime but Koreans made a petition to cancel the series due to mis-characterization so he doesn't appear in the anime outside of I think the ending sequence. I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if they'd actually managed to get the whole series canceled.
