20:42 in the book, Frodo was 33 when he received the ring. Frodo turned 50 years old when he left the Shire to destroy The One Ring. It took Gandalf 17 years to find out that the ring Bilbo left his nephew was indeed Sauron's Ring. That's why Gandalf returns to the shire to tell Frodo he needs to leave ASAP. Sam, calls him mr . Frodo out of respect not just because he's his "boss", but also Frodo is older, if I recall correctly the book.
And also because of the difference in wealth. Sam comes from a poor background, which means that his family always had to work for wealthy hobbits (Baggins, Boffins and more). Frodo on the other hand lives with the wealth that Bilbo left him and does not even have to work. Instead he employs Sam to do the gardening.
I can't even imagine what Frodo went through. Walking across an entire continent with what is essentially the voice of Satan in his head... That's a burden no one should have to bear.
I think Middle Earth is a region with various kingdoms, but not an entire continent. If I had to guess, maybe the size of a western european country like France or Spain I mean, that's still impressive, but not unachievable either.
Yeah. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of lotr, and only recently in the past year or so became a HP fan, but now I like and respect both, but lotr will always have a special place in my heart. I’m only recently reading the books, but everything about them is just… perfect 😂

I know a couple people who went to film school and haven’t seen it, a couple people who have gone to film school, but watched it before they ever went to film school, and I know even more people who have never seen lord of the rings And may have only ever heard of the title. People like me grew up on it because I was a child when the movies came out, but then my family members that are only about 5 to 8 years younger have never watched it either. He may have been too young to Watch it when he was younger, and didn’t really get to watch it until he was an adult

Avoid Rings Of Power - Amazon waited until Christopher Tolkien died early in the production of its DumpsterFire, his "demand" was that Amazon could use the Appendices to make the show, but they couldn't change the lore. As soon as Christopher died, Amazon delayed the show for reshoots, fired Tom Shippey who was the lead Tolkien scholar & friend of Tolkien himself; they wanted Jackson on the team. PeterJackson asked for the scripts then they ghosted him. Then later when asked about it he basically told them good luck.. You can blame this garbage show on Simon Tolkien, its stink doesn't reach Christopher. Firstly: they merge events (from thousands of years of history & build up towards several events but puts them all into one moment as if it’s happening in the same few years without time jumps or anything.) Guyladriel the murderous one dimensional girlboss heroine version of Galadriel never met Miriel(one of Aragorn’s ancestors) because, as an elf, she would have been sacrificed to Morgoth by the King's Men. The hobbits and Gandalf never met in the 2nd Age because Gandalf was in Valinor till the 3rd Age. Miriel wasn’t even born yet. She was born 300 years before or after the rings of power era. Also Elendil would never say “forget the past and toss it aside.” That’s the whole thing about the Faithful Númenoreans!!! Faithfulness to what’s good. To their elf friends. To the Valar, to Eru Îlluvatar. The way Galadriel acts like Fëanor when he isn’t seeing straight such as how she threatened bloodshed in the highest court of Númenor! The way she isn’t tall, the way she fights rookies doesn’t make her look strong. Should have had her spar with Elendil who was greater than Miriel in many ways even as far as lineage goes too! Have her spar with those greater Numenoreans and let the rookies laugh at their masters being vested by an elf woman holding back from actually hurting them! Now that’d be cool. (Remember. Their whole mantra was to write the book Tolkien never wrote”. Also watch them fake super fans. And then watch their social media that had nothing Tolkien on it ever. Like…. And they are also being sued by multiple people and groups and companies actually. The rings were forged last and not first. They were not in his sights or touch nor did he even know about them. And also guyladriel wasn’t a murderous Fëanorean either. But the note of the elven rings. They were made last and without the knowledge of Sauron. His touch never got to them. Made in secret so that whole story is thrown out the window as well. And making them first and having the obvious Sauron figure who wasn’t an elf to just be there when they’re making them and have his eye show up in the forge which wasn’t even the worst of it. The greatest of elven smiths still around which is Celebrimbor doesn’t even know what alloying is. Not to mention all their environmental scandals on top of bad CGI stuff. Full of copy past crowds and plagerisms up the wazoo. It’s also getting sued by several people and groups. I’ll also remind you that they just ran an old sick horse til it died of cardiac arrest and then only had a ten min coffee break to loosely honour this horse. Not to mention Tolkien loved animals in a deep way. They also have been causing environmental damage one of which being King Charles ancient forest to make a set. It’s scandal after scandal. And the fire in studio that took four hours to put out with firemen for yet another example. PS they don’t have the rights to the Silmarillion nor anything much of the second age let alone the first. Only the trilogy books and their appendices…. Remember that they also plagiarized tonnes of films in nontasteful instead of true a homage way… “tempest in me” but when threatening Fëanorean level bloodshed in the court of Numenor was from Cate Blanchett’s Elizabeth role which was done with grace and poise of a veteran actress(which doesn’t even sound like anything those of the great chill house of Finarfin would even act like. I don’t know if anyone else has said it, but the reason Frodo always seems to be in trouble is BECAUSE he’s wearing the ring, not because he’s clumsy or careless. Evil is attracted to him because the ring calls to them.
it was also lowkey because Merry and Pippin were with them causing issues especially Pippin since no one at all informed them of whats been going on, Merry on the other hand at least put two and two together midway into the journey.
@@ellie_jeann Movie-wise this is true. Book Merry and Pippin knew from the jump what the deal was, and purposely planned to journey with Frodo. They were well-prepared and convinced Frodo to let them go. It was just that Pippin was the youngest and pretty immature, and had not yet reached Hobbit adulthood.
You must know a few things regarding sir Christopher. He it was, among the entire cast and crew, who was the only person who ever met Tolkien personally. He also said that he so loved this story that he read the entire series every year of his adult life. He also was a member of Wild Bill Donovan's OSS, the wartime precursor to the CIA, as an agent behind enemy lines.
In five years time when you go back to watch this Morgan, the shire scenes will also be your favorite parts like your friend. They are so wholesome and done perfectly. What a film, what a trilogy, the third one I think won the most oscars ever, or tied for most. Superbly made films.

To answer your question, yes, Frodo knows how to swim. He learned after his parents drowned. Most hobbits are distrustful of water and boats and don't swim.
Sam is actually twelve years younger than Frodo, who was actually fifty when he set out with the ring, a detail the movies leave out because of how young Elijah Wood was when he was cast. In the book seventeen years pass between Frodo getting the ring and him setting out on his quest, but because the actor was so young they had to change the character. He was a lot less wimpy or dramatic in the book.

It was meant to stay as it was. The theatre version was forced abridged versions. The cinemas greedy choice. Or PJ and team wouldn’t get debut. version. It wasn’t meant to be cut up). Peter Jackson’s passion project team was forced to not show their full content as it would cut into what the cinema CEOs literally called the theatrical edition to get more screen time in and more mulla for themselves. It’s a such a nasty business. 80 percent true that money be the root of all evil. It’s the reason the real pumped out the EE as fast as possible in DVD format since they wanted people to see the whole movie invites completion. But he just announced that’s he found 1300 hours worth of footage from a warehouse he finally got access to so we will see more specially made super extended edition cinema extravaganzas that no cinema would pass on the opportunity to ride on his coattails again. The EE wasn’t just for fans. He literally was adapting the books to film as honestly as possible. the DVD documentaries showed that they didn’t want to cut anything. And weaselled around things to create the EE. (EE is extended edition by the way! ❤️). Without the extended for the next two films I always say “Good luck missing the Boromir backstory. Good luck explaining why the cloak turns into a rock. Good luck explaining the elves that had explained their current situation since the first film. It all ties together good luck skipping the gift scene with Galadriel and Celeborn and the extra scenes between Aragorn and Celeborn & Galadriel to Aragorn!” It’s seriously needed for the film worldbuilding and heightening the stakes. Also, I’d rather have faith people have the emotional and intellectual IQ high enoug to understand it or shall we have changed the title to something else same as how JK was forced to change the title in America to sorcerers stone instead of PHILOSPHER as Americans don’t even know what a Philospher is anymore these days which is sad. Relating to that: Tolkien was very sad about people losing connection to their past and heritage etc!

In terms of “best friend”… it’s Sam. And this isn’t even an argument in the slightest chance. Ron was beefing with Harry for 1/4 of their time as friends, but Sam followed Frodo to hell and back (almost literally) 😂
Gandalf bumping into Harry to look for Frodo: Gandalf says: I have to be certain it is you. Describe your best friend. Harry answers: A guy with wild red her, who lives in a burrow and what he lacks of intelligence, he makes it up again with loyalty. Would Gandalf fall for that? Or would he notice something is different.
I’m so happy you’re watching these movies! Within the last month, I’ve read all the HP books for the first time and fell down the rabbit hole that is your HP video collection. Just a few days ago, I also watched all of the LOTR movies for the first time and have started the books. The ring doesn’t automatically give everyone who bears it power. It amplifies the qualities you already posses so if someone like Aragorn were to bear the ring, he would would become very powerful. But it would also corrupt his mind, or anyone’s mind who keeps it for too long. That’s the reason why their only choice was to destroy it.
Sam is pretty much Frodos Batman (military term for a personal servant). It's a very close, sacred relationship. Tolkien was very connected to that during his time during WW1.
One of my favorite movie trilogies of all time, so I’m glad that you are finally getting around to watching it! And happy to hear that you plan on doing a part two (And maybe part three?) The trilogy is one of the best movie adaptions of a book series ive ever seen the harry potter movies. Watch these and the hobit movies and youll be glad you did. 10/10

I can’t believe you have seen the lord of the rings!! You have to go through and read the books. Such a great series, and Andy Serkis has done the audiobooks recently which is amazing. I loved seeing your genuine enthusiasm and questioning which was literally getting answered in the next scene.
Read the comments, and it’s not as rare as it sounds to find somebody who hasn’t watched something popular. For instance, I haven’t seen LOTRs, Narnia, Star Wars, or any DC or Marvel film. People need to learn that not everyone on the planet is gonna follow the herd.
He really does need to interact with us. 25 minute video without any 2 or 3 part split up really makes the work that went into this trilogy being filmed all at once tirelessly a little bit un-honoured. All the reactor channels do this especially for LOTR.

Honestly so delighted for you to finally enjoy these films Morgan. I've always balanced my love firmly between the Lord of the rings Film trilogy and Harry Potter. Although hands down Jacksons vision, location scouting and brilliance has always dominated for me. Unlike the HP's, it's refreshing in the fact all three films are directed by the same hand and were literally interwoven in shooting. The scale of what was achieved is unmatched, unparalleled and unbelievable. And the fact its inspired from stories written by a professor of languages and literature who designed a book of genesis and a world with thousands of years of rich tangible history with comparisons to mythology...just steeps it that much more in awe x
20:29 fun fact about the CGI: for the battle scenes, they wrote a program that would create all the background armies fighting each other. But they wrote these soldiers too intelligently so that half of each army *fled* the battlefield! So they had to dumb them down.
Reactors must be animated to some form. Have a nice clean way of editing. Whilst being unique and not talk over it. Pausing if need be. KSO does a wonderful job.

Here is what they would have missed- Frodo/Sam's first meeting with the elves, providing context for Valinor and the elves journey there, as referenced throughout the films and seen at the end of the Return of the King(connects to the passing of the elves in the beginning of their leaving the shire when Frodo and Sam are near the Old Forest by the Shire which leads them to eventually bumping into Merry And Pippin! (An epic scene with Gandalf in Rivendell was also removed as well.) 2. Aragorn singing the Lay of Luthien, providing a parallel between the events of the Beren and Luthien and Aragorn's relationship with Arwen of which every reactor channel I’ve seen makes the connection and it pulls them into a deeper understanding of their relationship every single time. 3. Aragorn kneeling at his mother's grave, giving him some additional backstory for the viewer. 4. Gandalf explaining to Frodo about the corruptive power of the Ring, and how it will strain the Fellowship from the inside, foreshadowing Boromir's downfall. 5. Sam singing a lament for Gandalf, providing more emotional weight to Gandalf's death, referencing the start of the movie and strengthening the connection between him and the Hobbits ( also highlights Tolkien's love of song and poetry in the books). 6. Galadriel giving the gifts to the Fellowship, providing context for their appearance in later films, as well as drawing a parallel between Gimli's gift and the events of the Silmarillion (Fëanor & Galadriel). That’s just the beginning. Including several removed scenes between Aragorn & Galadriel and Aragorn with her husband Celeborn! 7• also the opening explaining Hobbits & their culture to the viewers, so they have a better understanding of these peoples we will be following which also was the direct full chapter called Concerning Hobbits.
I've seen both LOTR and Harry Potter (including all your content) so many timees but I never made the connection how similar they were until watching this and seeing you connect the dots. I will FOREVER consider Merry and Pippen as Fred & George from now on

@@danielpotapczuk2155Faramir is definitely a Ravenclaw. He loves lore and music, and though he’ll fight for Gondor if he must, he doesn’t care for fighting as much as his older brother. Faramir even showed compassion for Gollum, but much of his character was changed heavily for the movies.
@@TheMan05555 I agree that he could be a Ravenclaw, too. But I still think that he fits better into Hufflepuff. He is not interested to fight for glory, he is interested to fight for the right thing. That is very much like a Hufflepuff. On top of that Faramir is very much down to earth and he is always loyal to Gondor and Ithilien, especially when Aragorn is king. And he has a great sense of being just. I think he fulfills nearly every trait a Hufflepuff can have.

Another fun fact: when boromir dies there is a choir in the back and they sing a song in Elvish. The lyrics translate into "I do not lovr a sword for its sharpnes nor an arrow for its swiftness not the wortior for its glory. I love only what they defend." And for bonus points this is said in the book by Faramir boromir's little brother.
When Boromir dies the trio literally converses with the winds via song and there are great covers of it. Clamavi de Profundis as we as Karlienne. There is a quartet of guys who take the part of each character of the three hunters which is super beautiful. Aragorn sang: Through Rohan over fen and field where the long grass grows The West Wind comes walking, and about the walls it goes. ‘What news from the West, O wandering wind, do you bring to me tonight? *fun fact:* because of all the prosthetics, the actor who played the uruk hai leader (Lurtz) at the end couldn't see very well, and so he threw a REAL knife REALLY at Viggo Mortensen, and Viggo really deflected it. Viggo could have died right there. *fun fact 2:* When walking into the lake, Sam's actor stepped on some glass and cut his foot open, and it was so bad he had to be air lifted into a hospital.

Twisted and cursed elvish and Adúnaic but prime black speech is twisted Elvish. “Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.” These words were disturbing to any Elves who heard them as well as made them gravely ill if it doesn’t kill you or make you go deranged first, as any words of that "Black Speech". When Gandalf recited them at the Council of Elrond, the sky darkened and the Elves trembled and covered their ears. This was the first time words of that language had been spoken in Rivendell. Roughly translated, these words mean: “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.” At some point following the gifting of the rings, a verse was written and kept as part of the Elven-lore as a way to make sure everyone remains vigilant since he could always find other ways to interact with the world and deceive someone into toppling the entire world, what's left of it.
Christopher Lee also met Tolkien many times and tha author one day said if an adaptation or stage play was to be made that was decent that he’d want Chris to play as Gandalf or Saruman. ❤

Ok. After the movies you HAVE to read the books starting with The Hobbit. I avoided the books for decades and once I finslly read them 2 years ago I wanted to go back in time abd kick myself for not reading them sooner.
