In defense of Lady Featherington, it's not that she's heartless. Marina appeared in her household without her permission, and she was pregnant, which at the time meant that her reputation was destroyed automatically because she was unmarried. In addition, the entire household's reputation (including Lady F herself, and all three of her daughters) would be destroyed. Upper class women could have no career or income of their own, so they needed to marry well just to have enough money to eat and have a house. No rep = no good marriage. So Marina put all of their futures in danger just by being there, and then refused to fix the problem by getting married to Sir Philip.

The whole build up of Simon and daphnes relationship was that Simon didnt want to have kids so always pulled out🫣 his vow to his father was to let his family title die with him. Anthony didn’t marry Sienna due to their different social statuses. And the focusing on the bee at the end was a teaser for season 2. PLEASE do a first and last episode of season 2 it’s even better than s1 in my opinion!!

Season 1 is so good, season 2 is pure perfection that'll have you on the edge of your seat and the spin off 'Queen Charlotte' is such a beautiful story which make you tear up. Idk if you'll be interested enough to actually react to the whole season/show in the future but it would definitely be fun and worth it

The corset scene is highly inaccurate. Corsets, when made and fitted properly, are actually super comfortable and give a lot of support. Also, tight lacing wasn't a thing until the late 1800s and was only done by the super wealthy. The working class corsets were even more flexible and comfortable.

If you do first and last of Gossip Girl, I think you'd probably get a better reaction doing the first and last episode of each season rather than the first and last of the whole show. Similarly to PLL, by the end the show is basically an entirely different entity so it's more fulfilling and easier on your part to guess what'll happen at the end of a season

Yeah, Britain in the early 1800's was an interesting place. Young ladies of the upper ranks weren't allowed in "society" until they were presented to the Queen. (Well, it could have been the King and Queen, but, yanno...poor ol' George III was suffering from mental illness, and so they couldn't let anyone see him.) And once they were let out into society, of course their whole lives revolved around finding husbands. The "season" basically meant a period in the summer where most if not all of the balls (dances) of the year were held in the big cities, mostly London. It was the time of the year where the mothers would parade their daughters to see and be seen by the rest of society, especially young men looking for wives. It was all very...meat market-ish back then.

My mum and I saw Bridgerton advertised a while ago and thought it would be a nice thing to watch together. As soon as the scene with Anthony against the tree in the first few minutes came on I immediately regretted that decision. We didn't watch past the first episode but I gave it another go a couple months later and enjoyed it. By myself. Without having to watch SEX SCENES with my MOTHER.
