yeah the issue with watching the first and last episode of bridgerton is that all the action is between, and the beginning and end is spent setting up the plot and tying up lose ends!! either way, so glad dylan reacted to this!! hottest series on netflix this summer
i definitely agree, but also having rewatched bridgerton super recently... i remember thinking they talked WAY too much. wrapping up loose ends is necessary, but the final episodes of the season really do seem like deep conversation after deep conversation. i think season two especially could've benefitted from breaking the conflicts up and addressing certain ones sooner rather than later.
Dylan is so big brain for saying equestrian sounds aquatic because in mythology horses came from the sea, so they absolutely got that word from the water people lol
While it might be accurate that in greek mythology horses are connected to water, the origins of the words 'water' and 'horse' have actually noting to do with each other. Which let to them being quite different in ancient greek. The word 'Equastrian' derives from the latin word for horse 'equus' which is similar to the greek word for this. But the latin word for water 'aqua' is not derived from the greek word but comes from a completly different source that has noting to do with horses or vice versa. Still it is a funny tidbit.
the way that every single thing Dylan points out is explained during the season, down to the small ring box😂 i'm screaming at my screen JUST WATCH ITTT
@@marlowcram7068 it was the ring/box that his father used to propose to his mother. Not only is it special but it was tradition for the eldest brother to use it (if the father had passed on) back in regency times
He missed all the iconic lines from Anthony "Do you think that there is a corner of this earth that you could travel to far away enough to free me from this torment" .... "you are the bane of my existence the object of all my desires. Night and day i dream of you" Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Dylan pushing that Anthony is trying to murder Kate through the whole video and then immediately saying how cute they are together when they finally become a couple is hilarious
NO DYLAN! Eloise not realizing Pen was Lady Whistledown speaks to a piece of her character. She was too absorbed in herself and agenda to notice Pen at all despite them apparently being best friends.
@Toasty_Mr.Marsh_ She would've had she paid attention to anything Pen was saying. Literally ever. Also, Pen literally saved her family from scandal twice, Eloise is just too self-absorbed to think about anything from different standpoints.
EXACTLY!!!!! People always get mad when I point this out and I'm like... I'm sorry but did we not watch the same show?? Even EYE clocked that Eloise was not a good friend back in season 1 before it was even revealed that Pen was Lady Whistledown!!!!
@@HRLastro I was sinking into my couch and covering my face, except for my eyes, with the hoodie I was wearing because it was so cringe. I actually had to take a lap around my house cause I couldn’t handle it. 🤣
When he said "she can always just listen to audiobooks" I thought "no, it's too soon for him to do the ad thing" . I guess he still has the element of surprise
"He wanted a challenge and she challenges him" Oh you dont know the half of it. This whole season is CARRIED by them and their chemistry. Truly the best onscreen couple we have seen in a while , and you should watch the whole season even if you know the end solely for their chemistry its just that good
@@SsLA2313 yeah but like their chemistry carried in the way the season 1’s couple didn’t 💀 They were good too , but not on the level where they make me forget the rest of the cast
No because Dylan who didn't even watch the whole season managed to CLOCK Eloise's ass. She hasn't been a good friend to Penelope for YEARS and that's why she never figured out that Pen was Lady Whistledown the whole time!!!
I know he’s not gonna watch the whole series because we’re all telling him to, but he would fucking love the chemistry and banter between Kate and Anthony!
no i got what he ment there are times when writers can hit that righ feeling, it's not about acting or quality. of course it's a good show but they could make it much more fun and more pleasing to watch some parts i more feel bad about Gossip girl show. it had so much potential but writers didn't do it right
The fact Dylan kept going on about how cool it would be if Penelope had to choose between Colin and her family when that already happened in season one and he missed it 😂
My parents are obsessive horseback riders and I am here to inform you that jumping on horseback, and more importantly doing it smoothly, while keeping your seat, is VERY impressive. It's actually a lot of work to stay on a horse as it leaps into the air 😅
The fact that Dylan didn't watch the Disaster Wedding after being excited about Anthony creating a mess by courting the sister is killing me. I know he would have been on the edge of his seat during ep 6 😭💀
LITERALLY, like the one-on-one conversations are only in the last episodes tying up all the loose ends we encountered during the season. he missed so much action
Dylan talking about how equestrian feels like a water word kinda scratches my brain in a good way because Poseidon was god of the sea AND horses. also like, you have seahorses and hippopotamus means "river horse" so there are a couple connections
I cant believe we won't get Dylan's reaction to the "AND IT IS NOT FAR ENOUGH! Do you think that there is a corner of this Earth that you could travel to far away enough to free ME FROM THIS TORMENT" and etc. Especially YATBOME, ATOOAMD!
I’ve never seen, in my entire life, anyone able to introduce an ad with such a natural, elegant, almost magical grace. I don’t care how much they pay you, it isn’t enough
When they say the only way you can decline a dance is if you are already “reserved”, they don’t mean engaged, they mean you have already promised that dance to someone else. They used to have little dance cards with all the music for the night, and when you asked for a dance you would just pencil each other in under a dance. So if someone had already asked for the First Waltz, it would be SO rude to then dance the First Waltz with someone else. If your dance card is already full then it’s a sign of your popularity/desirability. I totally agree we should bring these balls back!
It's especially funny because Dylan talks about this book he's been writing since forever, but he's not actually made any progress on it, which is why he gives that look at the end xD He means himself when he says "great writers"
I knew Dylan was going to fall under Anthony's charm by the end (even though he's seen only two episodes)! Anthony and Kate have truly amazing chemistry
@@esmeecampbell7396 It's not just about looks, it's about who matches well with who. Edwina is not a good match for Anthony, whatsoever. As Dylan says, Anthony wants a challenge, and Kate is challenging. Edwina is not. She is a sweet people-pleaser. She needs a different sort of man.
@@Sharie_mabari that just isn't true in reality though, the challenge gets tiresome. In reality the stable lord of the manor would usually go for the dependable girl. Of course sometimes they kept the challenge as a mistress... It's just part of what makes it feel like modern people cosplaying as the old fashioned days rather than an actual real lived in world.
@@esmeecampbell7396 I disagree but I think it’s really more a matter of taste. Kate is a lot more womanly and mature and has really piercing features that I’m attracted to but I’m sure someone who was into more soft and girly women would like Edwina more
That's exactly what I was thinking every time he mentioned it - Penelope does use her paper to save Colin in Season 1! In Season 2 they're doing the inverse with Colin saving Pen and her family from scandal.
after watching the 3rd season, I need the old producer back. Like it's not bad but just the old producer still keeps the Bridgerton world bright and colorful
Just imagine how much dylan would love Kate and Antony if he watched the whole season based on his ultimate admission that theyre cute together at the end 😂
you're so right about Mrs. Featherington, she is a convenient hero. But that is the whole point of her character. She isn't meant to be morally just, she's a mother and throughout both season we see her put her daughters above everyone else. Her number one goal in life is to ensure the safety of her daughters and she'll do whatever she deems right to do so
Yessss thank you no one else gets it. She's so focused on their status in society because she is deathly afraid of her daughters ending up in a marriage like hers where she has to continuously fight for the family. She loves her daughters and that's mostly shown through her actions and underlying fears for their futures
i thought about this but realised he’d miss a LOTTT of context 😭😭 he’d leave ep1 with george sending charlotte away & then seeing them reunited in the last ep? if he does it, i hope he at least watches ep 1+2 & then 6 🤞🏾
Queen Charlotte is my favourite Bridgerton series but it's more serious/dark than Bridgerton and I feel like he would miss so much only doing first & last
I think one of my favorite things is how unaware of regency terms Dyllan is. They called it 'good breeding' back then. Bred is absolutely something to the times. 10,000 was actually ridiculously wealthy. Depending on how inflation is calculated, that 10,000 is worth anywhere between like roughly 1 mil to as high as like 16 mil. 10,000 means they are millionaires in today's terms. It's actually insane.
Yep, 10k was a life-changing amount of money. Speaking in Jane Austen terms, Darcy earned 10k a year. Bingley “only” earned 5k and he was already considered exceedingly wealthy.
@excessivelyfangirlingbookw3339 yeah. It's actually insane how much money. But you look at those estates and just have to think...yeah that checks out 🤣
@@violetnorwen8491true except it's from Latin equus for horse. But equus and the Greek híppos (horse) come from the same word so maybe there's smth there
16:07 this type of scene is usually used not to reveal anything but to create foreshadowing that this might be a problem in the future, to make u anxious and start to be able to predict the season
My ex was so confused when I tried to show them P&P (the BBC version). I had to explain things to them the entire time and they just settled on "well if I don't get it, it must suck" 💀
24:15-24:32, 27:42-27:56 The way Dylan explained the Penelope saving Colin from a Featherington betrayal plot FROM SEASON 1 without realizing it is KILLING ME!! LITERAL FIST IN MY MOUTH! SCREAMING! RAAAAAAAHHHHH
I'm sure someone said this already, but the ring was the one his father gave to his mother. So, very precious and sentimental. :) As far as Eloise not discovering the truth, she didn't spend the entire second season seeking it out. She'd pretty much moved onto other topics for most of the season. Yes, you would have enjoyed seeing Kate & Anthony's relationship grow. Everyone, all together now... "You are the bane of my existence; and,..." Also, new season dumps tomorrow (Thursday), I believe. At least the first four episodes and it's Colin and Penelope's story.
dylan slowly learning abt the bridgerton effect. when it’s a specific brother or sisters time to fall in love, they get a lil “glow up”. They simply start styling the actors in colors that work w/ their skin tone, hair and make up is changed. For this upcoming season, it’ll be not just a bridgerton getting a different look, it’ll be the person they fall for as well, cause we’ve seen both of them throughout both seasons.
23:41 „look at that thing in his hands, that’s not impressive he’s holding it with the tips of his fingers“ Dylan not making a suggestive joke was the biggest misdirect of the video
It's funny he calls Anthony "elf boy" because the actor of Anthony voices an elf character in Final Fantasy XIV EDIT: Whoops I forgot he does Graha Tia who is not an elf...close friend of the elf though
The marbles! 😂 I love that you brought those back! The whole horse/equestrian ramble was fantastic (it does sound aquatic, I did not know it related to horse riding). Oh, and the way your voice pitched so high during the whole him not knowing that girl was her sister (sorry I don’t know anyone’s names, I don’t watch the show). Oh, and you running with the joke of the guy ‘chasing’ the woman was so funny. I love how it escalated to attempted murder on his part/possible serial killer! You crack me up, this was so fun! 😆
Dylan please you need to know that he was marrying the sister. They were at the altar, the sister figured out that they loved each other AT THE ALTAR. dylaannnn
yeah, you should watch the in between now. SO much missed. Also - Lady Featherington DOES love her girls. Its just in a very particular way. She's clever, but not "smart", so she is trying to guide her girls in the only way she can and knows.
I would argue that the whole scene with Lady Featherington wasn’t meant to make her look sympathetic necessarily. If anything, she’s always been obsessed with her family’s status in society and ensuring her daughters’ find wealthy matches. If word were to get out that she was part of the con with Jack then her family’s reputation would take a much harder hit than it already has with them having almost no money following the death of her husband. However, with all that being said she does truly love her daughters. I just think it was more about protecting their image so as to not ruin their marital prospects. As a woman in those times, if you could not find a husband to care for you, you didn’t have many other options to live off of.
