I decided to film the crows that visit my balcony. Once I put food out they'll come and go throughout the day. In this video I had a large amount of food that I put out all at once. I set up the camera and filmed them off and on for the whole day. There were large gaps when no crows were here which is why it's in so many clips.
The crows you see here are a mated pair and they like to hang out in the tree that's just off the balcony. Crows will hide food throughout their area so they can always have something to eat on the days when there isn't any food (I don't fee them every day). They also take food back to the nest for their young - but it's the end of the season so they're likely just caching it for later.
In total I have about 6 crows that regularly come looking for food. None of the crows are loud. Crows will caw and call out to each other but they can and will also stay quiet to avoid attracting other crows and creating too much competition for themselves. Crows are also really, really smart so they may have realized that we don't feed them as much or as often when they're being too loud.
