These movies aren't very spooky tbh, unless you consider terrible cgi to be spooky. But they gave us a new meme in Patrick Fabian, the worlds most underrated actor, and lots of other great content. I rewatched the first movie like a year ago and all I can remember is being furious that the movie expected me to believe that the one girl drew that portrait at like six years old

@@travis9260 I could buy that she did it with magic, sure! But if I remember right (it’s been like two years since I saw it I think), the parents find the sketch and make some casual comment that it’s like impressionist or something instead of being like “holy shit can you believe she drew this at six”. Same thing could have been accomplished if they’d just made that scar more distinctive and had the drawing be more believable, but with the scar or some other thing that makes it unmistakably him (or keep the drawing, but have the parents say something about how it’s strange that she drew it in some sort of trance and they kept it because it was so impressive). I’m mostly just nit-picky about that sort of thing because I’m actually an artist, though.

Originally there was supposed to be a third one, with the villain being the mother’s sister, but it never saw the light of day. It doesn’t really matter, we already know how the movie was going to end. They use the power of love to make their evil aunt good again, and then everyone beats up Patrick Fabian.

I actually think the first movie was pretty good for a low budget Disney Channel movie. They took what they had, and they tried their hardest to make something competent, and I think they succeeded. The second one has pretty much the same good qualities, but if you try to listen to everything they’re saying, it’s actually a pretty well put together story.
