_OH MY GOD THE ZOO PALS PLATES._ I remember _obsessing_ over those as a tiny kid. We'd always see them in stores, but we never got them. Probably because we had real plates. Man, I had _dreams_ about them, it was ridiculous. And that stupid music toothbrush... And Pillow Pets! I got a normal sized panda, and a mini. They are terrible pillows. And we got Fushigi, and it was stupid and dumb. I remember Floam, but the real MVP was Moon Sand. I loved that stuff. That Chef Boyardee commerical is a CLASSIC. Less so than the Kiss one, but still. I remember people wearing square pants, but not this commercial. I weirdly miss those Empire commercials. Along with those Viking "877 call now" Opera commercials. Ah, Beggin Bits. Basically dog junk food. Tried a piece once. _huwehhh_ I remember Gerber. That baby icon is wedged into my grey matter. Peebs, you just activated huge amounts of my memory.
@@UrSoulsBelong2No1 I was in middle school, walking in the woods with my mom and dogs, and we wondered what it tastes like. Didn't swallow, immediately spat it out. It's like rubbery plastic someone sprayed with bacon flavor. We stopped giving it to our dogs not too long afterwards.
Only downside is that they sometimes do fakeouts where it's just the intro, followed by a different Hershey Kiss commercial When they don't it's one of the ads I don't skip though (when watching on FireStick YT bc I have Adblock everywhere else lmao)
Can we all appreciate how Peebs calls the product "Chef Boy" like, a hundred times in this video? 11:15 Oh wow, Peebs's videos are edited by Kizuna Ai? That's some real star power right there.
Yeah, I remembered that chef boyardee one, pretty stupid in hindsight, aside from getting the girl in trouble, wouldn't there be security cameras recording the sentient can rolling off?
Here's what you do. You use 10 pieces of bacon to make the bowl cause you don't want any leaks. Then you eat your Reeses puffs (or Oreo Os are acceptable) in your bacon bowl.
I believe Tooth tunes uses bone conduction technology. Basically it vibrates and when you brush your teeth it vibrates through your teeth and you hear the music. Fushigi is just a ball used for contact juggling. Fun fact it's what David Bowie's character did in The Labyrinth.
Me too, why did they think it was a good idea to have goldfish smiling at you while you're eating them? I agree dude, nobody wants a smiling burger. A burger, sure, but not one that smiles back at you! Well, actually I can't eat burgers at all, because I have diabetes, but if I could and a burger started winking at me; I'd just think I were either going crazy, or just start eating vegetables instead, unless the veggies ALSO have the capacity to smile back as well!! Then, I'd just go back to eating a burger instead. Because If I saw a burger or vegetable smiling at me, I'd much rather just go with the one that has the least creepy smile. Which sounds like something out of a SpongeBob episode, honestly, having creepy burgers smiling at you... so you wouldn't eat them anymore. Sounds exactly like a SpongeBob episode... weird.
I think the smiling goldfish are cute. :( Sigh... it's certainly something I'm used to and don't think much about it anyway... I mean, I don't think you can even really make out the shape that well either anyway, it's kind of faded in or something. :p Like, I don't know about other stuff, but maybe if it had like googly eye looking stuff on a pizza or a burger, that would be kind of weird... Goldfish is just a cute, yummy snack though. :?
God, I remember Little Bear.... That was so 90s, if I remember correctly. Also, that HEAD ON commercial is so repetitively famous. Floam was something back then. That Chef Boyardee commercial is something that the mother would wrongly assume the child stole the can. lol Empire Today has that iconic theme.
I remember getting a pillow pet whenever I saw that commercial! I think I’ve had it for about 8 years now and it is no longer as fluffy as the ones in the commercial
I don't think Austin has ever talked about SMT, much less Persona, so whenever Toasty puts Persona music in the background it really catches me off guard.
I counted how many times he said bacon in that scene, and it was so fast that i fumbled a bit. So its a number between 38 and maybe 41, thats about how many times he said bacon
Ah, zoo pals... we would get those every once in a while, since they were for some reason ridiculously over-priced for a paper plate colored to look like an animal, but whenever we did, I would dig through the entire stack until I found all the penguin ones and I would hide those somewhere else so that I could make sure that I had every single penguin and my siblings could never use them. I don't think it bothered my siblings much, none of them ever loved penguins as much as I did, and still do! Ah, the memories!
Oh man, I remember most of these. I remember the Goldfish commercials actually had a story. Like, it started out with the generic Goldfish character venturing outside of his Goldfish bag, and then discovering the giant Goldfish city that was under some kids' bed where he made friends with all the other varieties of Goldfish. Every month or so, they would have a new commercial continuing the saga. Such deep lore, the Goldfish universe had.
Peebs: Nah I don't feel like getting a divorce over a spongebob burger king commercial. Editor/Toasty: Fine I'll do it myself. toasty your an absolute madlad.
9:11 thank god I didn't see that commercial at all as a kid pretty much for the best. Now I cannot unsee this which really is a problem in a hilarious way.
You wanna know the funny thing about HeadOn? It was supposed to be a headache relief product, but since it completely absolutely did not work and had no research backing it up, they couldn't make that claim, so they just... opted to repeat their slogan over and over, I guess! Gotta move that product somehow!
Yoooooo the goldfish one. I remember how that turned into a whole story. The pretzel one (Gilbert I think) gets lost or taken away from under the bed, so all the other flavors go searching for him
I remember that the pillow pets were $20 apiece for the regular sized ones. Pretty expensive for a rectangular stuffed animal with a strap. My favorite was the dolphin. :)
I remember the Hershey, Gerber life, that empire one (it always played at the tv at my grandmas), and that zoo pals one me and my cousins always ate off of those and I still have my pillow pet from many years ago
I had one of those Pillow Pets as a kid. It was, as most as-seen-on-TV products are, not nearly as exciting as it looked like in the commercial. Nowadays it gets used as my alternative travel pillow when I can't find anything else.
I remember the zoo pals plates, the tune tooth brush thing, obviously I remember pillow pets. Obviously I know of the head on commercial, though I am unsure if I original saw it. I definitely saw the boo-she-gae, fake ball thing commercial, I definitely remember the floam, I remember the Reece’s puffs commercial, I am not sure about the chef Boyardee commercial, I remember the remember the Hershey kiss commercial, I remember the “RESPECT THE POUCH, RESPECT IT COMMERCIALS”, I remember the goldfish commercials, I remember the empire commercials. I LOVE BrutalMoose. I remember the double cost Gerber grow up plan commercial.
1:30 ish - ok, realktalk: the literal Chia "pet" is kinda dump, but growing Chia is kinda legit... you can use it as filler with your other home garden stuff
I had all four types of pillow pet dog, I had the big dog, the big dog nightlight, little dog, and little dog night light. And they were really soft. Especially the baby ones
I remember tooth toons. it was bone conductive sound, so you could only hear it when it was in contact with your teeth, to help encourage kids to brush for long enough
I miss them so much. And I don't think it's just nostalgia -- I've got siblings 15 years younger than me, and they're always more interested in 2000's stuff than modern stuff cos it's more interesting. Everything these days is a scammy phone app.
I BEGGED for a Fushigi when I was a kid. Got one for Christmas. I was severely disappointed. It was really hard to do and it scratched when I dropped it ruining the illusion
When I was a kid, my mom ALWAYS bought me ZooPals whenever she could find them. I'm always happy to see other people see the commercial that I grew up with.
Ah man! I was a 2000s kid, and I remember two thirds of these commercials. I remember when everyone in my family wanted a pillow pet after seeing that commerical. Mine is still in a box right next to my bed! (I got the turtle)
I had an actual out of body experience when the X4 Sky Lagoon theme played. That's probably the most nostalgic sound in the world for me, personally, and I almost couldn't believe I was hearing it. I don't think I've EVER heard it outside of looking it up myself.
I rarely comment on a youtube video, but damn Toasty, your Brutal Moose *plop* made my day. I know he's a part of NBU, but still... it was a great cherry on top of your damn near perfect editing skills. I don't think the Peebs channel would be anything without you man. Keep killing it! You're the best editor on youtube
I'm a 2000's kid who grew up in the other side of the world so i didn't grew up with these commercials but it's so nice to see your reaction to some of these, Peebs. Some of these are whack XD
15:00 Holy shit, the opening stage theme from Megaman X4. I haven't heard that shit since I was a kid. That transported me into the past so damn hard and I absolutely was not prepared.
