I remember this one show that I think was called “Player Select” and it was basically clips from different Let’s Players like Jacksepticeye and CoryXKenshin with weird editing slapped on to them. I stumbled across it on Disney XD and there where no end credits. Oh, and did I mention that they’re edited to be more “Kid Friendly”?
14:19-14:58 I love how this is the exact scene where Diamondbolt and his friends see the surprising Annoying Orange cast on IMDb, Tom Cruise!? Shane Dawson!? Ray William Johnson!?
@@ShadwRavn Well maybe not everyone saw his annoying orange video, and if you’re referring to the end part, I just wanted to say the points he (Diamondbolt) and his friends said in his video compared to this one.
It's probably worth noting that Netflix, at least for their animated content, often uses the tactic of ordering one batch of episodes for their new shows and then splitting the episodes into two seasons so that they can release the "two" seasons within a close range of each other in the hopes of keeping the shows relevant longer. And considering Oddballs came and went within a year I think it's a safe bet to say it only had one batch ordered.
A random fun fact, I think I accidentally scammed RU-vid out of getting basically years worth of RU-vid Premium for free. Basically, I did a free trial (without any credit cards linked to my phone or account, bare in mind), and then when the trial 'ended' I just...closed the app and reopened it and got it for back. Occasionally, RU-vid will catch on that my thirty day free trial has been going on for 36x the amount and will either get rid of it for a day (most being a week) or giving a "your subscription is about to end!" but nothing ever happened. Similarly, I've gotten minecraft for free on my phone, I don't know how I keep getting away with this
The only youtube red show that was genuinely worth watching to me was Escape the Night by Joey Graceffa (But even then I didn't even start watching it until it was free.) Really hoping it gets a 5th season on some other streaming website, since RU-vid Red is basically dead 💀
I fucking LOVED Part Timers as a kid (I dont remember it being RU-vid Red tho) I loved it and revisiting one or two episodes a year back I think it holds up well enough, kinda want to rewatch it all and see if im wrong. Also Ghost Sex is a wild finale as a kid who barely understood what sex was at the time, you dont see anything in that episode, but its still really clear whats happening
I binged part timers like 5 ish years ago on a trip to tieland and I enjoyed it. That’s not saying much though because I ran into a very clean glass door and got a concussion before hand so.
@@RegularGuy1998 at least the annoying orange was so bad it’s good. Oddballs tried so hard to be hip with with the kids but fails spectacularly, glad it’s cancelled.
@@Ihartwalrusguy I thought Oddballs was a cool show. Also that Orange show... was funny, but didn't had the charm as the original RU-vid shorts from like 2009-2011 (In my opinion, Orange downhill around 2012, even if the series was still funny at times).
What an enjoyable video! I have never really watched any of the shows you talked about, aside from some episodes of the annoying orange show, but I do remember watching Paranormal Action Sqaud on RU-vid Red.
I love how everyone gets angry at James for making Oddballs, like he committed some sort of unforgivable crime. Like, cmon. It doesn’t have horrifically unlikeable characters (except for Echo), it doesn’t have evil moral messages and it doesn’t try to indoctrinate kids into anything political. The biggest crime this show committed for some people is simply… not being funny. That’s it. It’s not that deep.
I also saw a complaint where someone thought James was just selling out and that he has over 10 million subscribers so why does he need to do this. The reason he did it was because he wanted to. He went through 2 years of production just to get this show off the ground. But no he did it solely for the money.
14:29 I feel like I shouldn’t be surprised that Weird Al had a guest role in the Annoying Orange TV series since it’s not too far off from voice roles he’s had before this, but for some reason I’m still in awe
Annoying fact: I watched the Annoying Orange TV show all the time as a kid and genuinely ENJOYED it. I feel like if I watch it again that'll change but who knows?
Also, not quite sure if it counts but I was absolutely obsessed with Stampylonghead’s edutainment show(s) “Wonder Quest” and “I Wonder” They weren’t RU-vid Red shows nor did they air on any streaming service/TV channel but I believe Disney’s Maker Studios was a part of it. (In fact I think the reason there’s no season 3 of WQ is because that partnership ended.) It taught me a bunch of cool science stuff and I have very fond memories of it. Raise your hand if you still use ‘Please Eat More Dessert Announced Stampy’ to remember PEMDAS lololol
The Scott the Woz show is probably the only RU-vidr show that really works really well, because it is literally just repackaged and re-edited Scott the Woz episodes for a G4 timeslot. Its literally just RU-vid videos on a cable television network.
It's also one of those shows that has a much lower budget than a lot of the other RU-vidr shows. And yet I genuinely like most of the episodes, especially the seasonal specials and others where his real life friends - not just other RU-vidrs - join in and help make a video.
We need a Diamondbolt Reality Show where he breaks into the homes of innocents and makes them watch Asylum Movies (Bonus Unfriended viewing if they behave well)
1:34 Except in some countries you don't need RU-vid Red/Premium to download legally, though they made an update recently where you need RU-vid Premium to download those videos in 720p and up
Cross referencing the Annoying Orange show's Wikipedia's cast list with the IMDb one tells you that half of what the former says is real and the other is fake.
In my opinion Matpat did it best because it had something to do with what he was doing on RU-vid and since it was a RU-vid show where he didn’t need to act because it was improv it meant he could be out Matpat
I laughed so unbelievably hard when George said “no you don’t sound like you have gone through the fnaf lore” ok ok hello internet welcome to game theory
I think the only YT Red show I’ve ever watched is the DanTDM one. For years only the first episode was available to non-premium members but in 2020 they made all of them available for free. It was a neat and cute little show with the live-action and 2D animation combo
I miss this era of the internet. Not because it was good, but because it was hilarious hearing how every other RU-vidr decided they could make tv shows or movies now
I also don't think the guy who created the Annoying Orange has much to do with it any more. I think he admitted it was just some dumb wave he rode just for money.
I feel like the only thing i really remember of the RU-vid Red shows was Escape The Night, mainly because it was just- actually decent?? like nowhere near good but it was very fun and it was able to go 3 seasons without becoming a dumpster fire until the last one.
