Prez Truman said the country still needed A Captain America so The Spirit Of 76 took on the identity while some other kid became the new Bucky. It was this Cap who was a member of The All Winners Squad, a team originally created by Bill Finger and Martin Goodman drawn by multiple artists / ALL WINNERS. SQUAD (Golden Age); WHAT IF? #4 (A Key for Invaders fans) C. Captain America 2 was killed, who was then replaced by The Patriot who took on the identity. This explains who was The Cap who hosted the Cap mystery comics from the late 40s to early 50s./ CAPTAIN AMERICA's MYSTERY COMICS; WHAT IF? 4 D. Little known FACT: a year before DC, In 1955 Martin Goodman tried to resurrect his super-hero books with new HUMAN TORCH, SUB-MARINER (the longest lasting) and yes, CAPTAIN AMERICA books! Unlike the previous two CAs, Captain America 4 was given his abilities by the Super Soldier Serum, but unlike Steve Rogers, he wasn't bathed in "Vita Rays" which stabilized the serum and prevented madness.
