bad leak under kitchen sink piping .nut was missing someone tryed plumbers putty to seal piping,, did not work so well .. replaced both basket strainers under sink .
Holy cow, what a jury rig job someone did putting all of that plumbers putty that was on there. I like that type of basket strainer that you used the ones with the collar. Good repair.
That putty and tape jobbie takes the cake for the most half-assed "plumbing" job I've ever seen. I guess there was not enough putty left for the basket strainer. Dude must have been high.
I agree with Steve on the dogs biting you when you turn your back to walk away. My theory is that they realize it's now or never if I'm going to bite him, so they go for it. Nice work cleaning up someone else's mess. Steve is working again....

this is a good video just to show everyone out there who pays people to do jobs and they never check their work. I just replaced my basket strainer but I needed to cut it out with a sawzall
Guy must been a real shoe maker to patch up the pipes like that with putty actually reminds me when I bought my house my sink pipes was jerry rigged with an accordian pipe silver seaze smeared all over the pipes I tore everything apart & bought all correct pipes made it all new again though it shows that there are shoe makers out there don't have a clue what they are doing...
I mean I've heard of duct tape, popsicle sticks and bubble gum ... but God damn duct tape and putty that's pretty impressive ... never ends always cleaning up someone elses' mess ... us plumbers/hvac guys polish turds all day long
He was a contractor out of Canada and he had a tv show where he went behind other contractors who did bed work and he made it right ....or fixed it correctly.
Good Job Steve!! Damn you were LUCKY there was no Gorilla Glue~! LOL I once had to follow some idiot who used fiberglass and resin, and he wrapped the entire drain and facing portion of the sink. I felt like I was at a wrecking yard trashing a corvette! Gloves and mask ~ definite Next Level and maybe the one after that!
Plumbers putty? A real hack would have used duct tape! Where was his DIY pride? Lol. Good fix Steve. It just proves that some people shouldn't mess with plumbing! You should start a wall of shame. This could be your first entry of the new year!
i seen somone try to fix dish washer drain line that had a hole in it . so he put that expandfome around it to fix it . next level repair not. good job steven.
Can't believe the putty! You said you don't like plastic for waste piping. What would be the best material to use in this case? I'd like to change mine from plastic.
+kroozman10 if you see in my other videos i use thick glued plastic all the way up to the basket strainers it will never leak that way all these compression fitting will leak when the hot water hits them over time the waste elbows i am talking about
Every sink I do when they're home. Yada yada yada, their life story, yada yada yada, idiotic questions. Why would you ask to use the bathroom sink? WTH does the bathroom have to do with the damn kitchen. I pray they'll be busy and just let me work. That putty is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen. How long did he think that would last, a week?

From experience, Doctors, Lawyers, Dentists and the majority of really rich people are the cheapest, penny-pinching, unbelievably money-grubbing people I have ever worked for in my short 35 + years of service. Remember this when you go into a doctor's office and he looks at you for 15 minutes and charges $200.00.
