Thank you for this wonderful informative Video ❤ In my home TDS lvl is 170 around. So as per your suggestion, Uv filter + carbon filter is the best option. Also i hope to have the dead bacteria and virus filtered out and with TDS meter inbuilt. Please advise if this is possible

UV+UF is good to remove bacteria and viruses(Partial but majority of viruses are larger than the pore size of UF filters).. no need to worry about minerals it wont remove any TDS in water.. I haven't seen any TDS built-in models in water purifiers. Anyway if I found anything like that, I will comment you..

This is the only model available in amazon with hot and cold feature amzn.openinapp.link/wf895 .. other models are hot+Normal. please check whether you need hot and cold feature in the RO. simplest way is just consider the UF+UV water purifier. Anyway it is your convenience, This is just my opinion..

Taste wise RO is good.. NF is little salty.. this is upto your choice.. if you like tasty water then you go with RO+TDS adjuster or taste enhancer or mineraliser..

Hi Mam, In my home, I would like to use bore water, Which will be in the Overhead tank, From Overhead tank, water will come to kitchen. So, in the Kitchen only, we would like to keep the water purifier. So, Currently I don't know the TDS level at my home. I am from Devakottai, Ram Nagar location, Tamil Nadu. So, Suggest a good brand with long life, less maintenance and tasty water with necessary added minerals.

I have been looking for purifiers and this was very informative. We use municipal water and the tds is around 238. I am planning to buy the LG UV+UF model mainly because it has a stainless steel tank. Can I go for it?! Because on one side I’m confused as to what if the municipal water changes over time and produces some odour or colour (as of now the municipal water is very clean and odourless but during rain and flood there are chances of contamination and odour) as UV+UF doesn’t remove odour and colour. The salesman suggested to go for RO but I kind of don’t prefer RO for a low tds of 238 as generally in RO there is more water wastage ,more maintenance and mainly less healthy. Kindly help by giving your suggestions.

During flood and rainy seasons the amount of TSS (total suspended solids) only increases, this can be filtered by sediment filter itself. Bad odor will be removed by carbon filters.. so no need to worry about.. In RO with TDS controler, it bypasses some water from UF, without letting the water inside the RO. In that case, how it handles the muddy water? I hope it is clear..?

@@Ramyaskitchen but I don’t pretty much understand the concept of TDS controller. The pore size of RO is 0.0001 microns and that of UF is 0.01 microns. If the purifier is going to bypass the water without the RO then obviously its going to contain the pathogens that are not filtered by RO, which are again cannot be filtered by UF ( since 0.0001 microns can pass through UF). Even if we say it’s gonna bypass only little amount, the pathogens can multiply in the storage tank right?! So comparatively would UV+UF be a better option? Kindly correct me if I’m wrong.

i think u misunderstood my previous reply.. dont hesitate to buy UV+UF. if during the situation like flood and rainy days as you mentioned, the water will be contaminated by large particles, these are called TSS (Total suspended particles), these particles are filtered by the pre-filter in any of your purifier. those are sediments and other impurities. Also every water purifier comes with carbon filter that will take care of your water smell. Regarding your RO doubt, the UF filters filters maximum number of bacteria. after that in will go through UV process then only mix into the RO purified water. UF cannot handle the TDS levels. If any doubt please let me know.

if you have still on confusion, then go without second thought for RO. you will get RO with minerliser, or tds controller. Both are safe. but the only problem is water wastage. NF is also good alternate for you..

The salt content which is present in bore well water or municipality water is calcium and magnesium not sodium chloride which is present in sea water so on day to day basis we are adding Nacl to foods not calcium or magnesium. Don't misjudge by yourself

yes you are right.. it changes.. "The results of physicochemical analysis reveal that the parameters such as EC, TDS, HCO3, Cl, K, PO4, BOD, COD and DO exceed the permissible limit of WHO in most of the sampling stations in summer and rainy seasons. The high value of these parameters can be attributed by anthropogenic activities, effective ion leaching and discharge of effluents from agricultural and domestic wastes in summer and rainy seasons. The groundwater in this region can be used for domestic use only after pre-treatment.
