I noticed that I tend to default to mark making when I’m trying to come back from a creative break (or block). To get back into creating after a month-long break, that was the first thing I turned to. Here are the other few entries that followed.

Love this video, Susan! I would welcome watching the other colours in your Artful August series. And thank you for the inspiration on Neutral Tint--it's been a big mystery and last summer, I bought a tube but haven't opened it. I also love your handmade watercolour journal, Susan. I'm thinking you made it. I'm not very handy but wondering if you had any resources on making this lovely simple, elegant one? Great to see you back!

Hi Susan! Thank you for the warm welcome back! Yes, Neutral Tint seems to be a bit "mysterious" maybe because of it's name! I found once I actually swatched it, it's a really truly neutral version of a grey (less blue than Payne's Grey) and it is fun to mix with colors to see how it creates a muted version/desaturated version of it! And yes, it's a handmade journal! I honestly can't remember if I made it or a friend made it, though I suspect it was a friend of mine - so I don't even know what kind of paper is in here! This is a saddle stiched journal - and this video is a good one to reference: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aWHkY5jOoqM.html ! It's not too hard, so I think you can definitely do it too!
