Kilamanjaro is Cheap Joe's house brand and can only be purchased from them. They won't reveal the manufacturer of it -- according to Handprint.com it is "a European company widely known for its affordable, student grade watercolor papers." I've tried it and really like it, too. I just wish they offered it in hot press so I could use it for botanicals.
Thanks Lana. I did some research last night and found that it's a Cheap Joes. Brand but couldn't find anything else either. I am going to use it more but like you, need a hot press for the botanicals. I'm still looking for that dream hot press though.
Fantastic & thank you! Isn't it amazing how changing one variable can have a real effect overall? It may not necessarily be the Kilmanjaro paper -perhaps it's just a rough finish vs cold or hot press. OR perhaps the amount/type of sizing on the papers - obviously more exploring would need be done - try other rough papers with your Schminke if you have any & see if the results are similar to the Kilmanjaro. Personally I love maximum granulation & flow of my paints and have found rough press usually promotes both those attributes to their best on rough press paper. Again, TFS.
This video would be great if we could actually see it with a better quality video/audio recording and also more balanced lighting so the shadows are not such a prominent part of the scene.
