Wow, you must have spent hours on the painting, and the result is more than beautiful, it transports a certain uneasy mood, like that might be a dangerous place. Now I have a question for you: As a beginner I'm always told to leave the white spaces, which you don't do at all here except for the trees via rubber, and it seems clear to me that one couldn't create a painting similar to yours without the help of the extra white colour -since the foreground is intricate whitish details on red and the intensity of the painting comes from the density (and saturation) of the coloured space. So what's your stance on "leaving the white" in watercolour paintings, do you do that at all, did someone tell you to do it when you were beginning, how was the experience for you? Very interested in your thoughts.

I appreciate you comment. I'm a self taught artist and so my current skills are entirely acquired on the basis of my own experience. I also figured that painting must always be a pleasant activity for me and should be complex in no way. My way to leave the white space is of course to use the art masking fluid. Since I used to paint with the oil paints I like light color over the dark effect. To that end I simply use white gouache which is white opaque water color. All of the branches in this particular painting have been done with the use of gouache. That's the whole secret. If You will have any more questions don't hesitate ;) Best Regards :*

Akwarele i farba biała , kto to uznaje ?
@DominikaKwiatkowska
@DominikaKwiatkowska 6 лет назад
Pozdrawiam serdecznie :)
