Omg those flowers are all sooo gorgeous! I've never been good with watercolor and struggle with it not looking all muddy/messy but I decided to get back into it again, so this video is a heaven sent. Thank you! ❤

Thank you so much! Appreciate it! So glad to know that you are deciding to get back into watercolour again! One tip I would give to avoid the painting to get muddy is to use the same colour with different saturation to achieve gradient using wet on wet technique and wait for it to fully dry and then add the new contrasting colour, like the Daffodils. Hope that helps. Go for it! 😊❤️

I am appreciative of a beginner’s step by step flower tutorial. I want to improve upon my floral painting. I love all of these but my favorite colors are purple and peach, not together. Love peach roses and would love a beginner’s rose that actually looks like a rose not the C roses. These don’t really impress me as roses…just watercolor loose roses. I love realistic. Would love to see this in a style such as these are. I also love a lavender rose that is called “Angelface”. Can’t remember the botanical name. Since I love purple my favorite on this tutorial is the Lavender. ❤ Cosmos would be next in line! Another favorite flower of mine is the Hibiscus.🌺 Any color. Would love to see any of these taught by you. So glad I found you and I can’t wait until daylight to start on these. I have only vision in one eye so my lighting is even more important to me than regular water colorists. Thank you again from NEvTennessee. 💟🌺🌹

Thank you so much! I used the Kuretake Gansai Tambi MC20/12V (12 pan), Princeton round size 4 and 8 brushes and Ashley series 1877 size 1 brush. Here are the colours used for each flower Daffodils: For the petals No.40 Lemon yellow. For the center No.31 Cadmium scarlet, No.40 Lemon yellow and No.32 Red. For the stem No.53 Sap green, No.55 Viridian, No.46 Burnt Sienna and for the darker layer I added a bit of No.20 Black to the mix. Lavender: For the flower No.64 ultra marine and No.36 Rose madder deep. For the stem No.53 Sap green and No.46 Burnt sienna. Cosmos: For the flower No.36 Rose madder deep, for the center darker layer I mixed in a bit of No.20 Black to No.36 Rose madder deep. For the center No.40 Lemon yellow, No.44 Yellow ochre and No.20 Black. For the stem same mix I used for Daffodils. Snow drops: For the flower No.64 Ultra marine, No.40 Lemon yellow. For the stems No.53 Sap green, No.55 Viridian and No.46 Burnt sienna. ☺

i have a question for you. On the pink flowers where you are adding the details. Was it the same color just more saturated or a diff pink altogether? tia
@aliceartpaintings
@aliceartpaintings Месяц назад
It is the same colour just more saturated for most of the details. But if you notice I add a touch of black to that saturated pink colour, only for around the centre, as another layer. Thanks for your question Tia! ☺️
