You can now buy the exact same brushes that I use in my videos in my Etsy store! www.etsy.com/u...
We've set sail to illustrate all sorts of sea creatures and shells in the watercolour Ocean Series. You will soon see I can't make up my mind which is coral and which is seaweed, but I think they both act as a brilliant starting template to create your own shapes and sizes of underwater plant life.
If you've enjoyed this video and would like to support me further take a look at my Patreon page at bit.ly/3briO5P to see what we've got to offer.
Each painting project involves mastering a particular watercolour technique. The ocean series is all about creating beautiful illustrations with a single colour. The first seaweed/coral shape in Cadmium Orange looks at forming loose shapes, blending colour.. and just how light you should be drawing in pencil to be able to rub it out! The second seaweed/coral shape in Cadmium Red looks at cartoonish outlines and layering to create texture and movement. Enjoy!
Don't forget to like and subscribe as well as visiting my website de Winton Paper co (bit.ly/2ZgRlj8) for watercolour kits, worksheets and my watercolour book 'New Botanical Painting.' You can find plenty more gorgeous watercolour illustrations on my Instagram too.

I have really enjoyed this three part series. They all look very simple and doable while sitting in my armchair, and as a true beginner. I'll comment again once I've actually attempted to do them.

Thank you Harriet, I am learning so much from you, I do feel like a bit of a stalker though! It was really interesting to see how you hold your brush for the fine lines and also how you create quite a complex image from a simple beginning.

This is so awesome✨. My husband has a fishtank and he will love if I can paint this for him. If you have any simple marine fish... Would love that tutorial too 😁

Ty for this video! Have tried twice to do orange “coral” with blending w not great success. Now want to practice this technique & paper I use can take the water but how do I keep the darker concentration of orange from running down to far? You are very talented!
