NOTE: Hey fellow horror fiends, we are rebranding some of our shows in the name of growing our audience on RU-vid; hence even though this video is titled WAXWORK II (1992) Revisited - it is STILL the BLACK SHEEP show! Thank you! PS: Is it beer o' clock yet? ;)
Waxwork 2: Lost In Time is a wild sequel that took the seeds from the first movie and turned them into a hodgepodge of parody and sincerity. Both director Anthony Hickox and lead star Zach Galligan return for a sequel that cranks the wackiness up to eleven. Waxwork 2 explores the ideas of fate, time battles, and love, all while paying homage to every genre under the sun. Join us as we traverse through time and give this flick the love and adoration it deserves!
WATCH THE FILM HERE: amzn.to/3rx2M4r
OWN THE FILM HERE amzn.to/3riFOgX
SERIES SYNOPSIS: THE BLACK SHEEP features different takes on horror films that the masses or/and critics didn't care for but that we found merit in. We defend horror movies that deserve more love!

I like that it picks up right after the first one and actually deals the survivors of the last one having to explain what happened to them (and obviously no-one believing them). You never really see the legal ramifications of surviving something this fantastical and somehow getting away with a story that all your friends being murdered by wax puppets.

I have this theory that this film series may have inspired Cabin in the Woods. They almost feel like "relatives" to one another. Very meta, very self aware, but also enjoying what it pokes fun at.

Thank you for this. I love Waxwork 2. Not to do the lead actress a disservice but I would have loved to have seen Deborah Forman reprise her role. But still, this is an unsung gem.

I too rented this film as a kid. Loved it. Half the fun was the trailers you got before the movie that always helped you find out about other similar films coming out. I saw this WAY before I ever got to see the original, so it was kind of weird to see how that one worked after this one. Picking the stones out of his rib cage and the salt was so hilarious too.

Waxworks 2 is a movie I have always felt conflicted about. I absolutely love the parody stuff with that evil dead 2/Army of Darkness feel, I just wish that it extended into the fantasy third act. It just felt like a whiplash in tone and the whole time I wanted to go back to the black and white scary house segment.

I loved this movie. Recorded it off of HBO or Cinemax and watched it all the time. I still remember the end credits theme, that rap song, Lost in Time. "Lost in time like a bug in a jar, no matter where you go, there you are." The lyrics just recount the events of the movie and outright say the title. Priceless. They really don't make them like this anymore and it's a damn shame.

First time I watched this I had eaten a 10 strip of LSD. I was freaking out because as we switched through cable stations this same actor kept popping up in all these different movies. We would watch him in a ghost movie for a couple minutes switch through channels and would find that actor in a sword and sorcery movie. Was freaking us out so much we went outside and decided to stop watching TV lol. Years later when I saw the movie in a sober state I couldn't stop laughing at how our tripped out brains perceived was happening lol

There were plans for Waxwork III: Through the Gates of Time. Sarah joins Mark in the past and they team up with Merlin to defeat a witch and return home. Probably a good thing it didn't happen since them leaving Kartagra would negate Mark's time warrior arc.

I absolutely adore this movie. I have so many fond memories when I watched in Cable TV in my grandparents' house back in the 90's. The new age music in the fantasy setting was truly beautiful and well, this movie I prefer over the first one which is fantastic as well (I love Michelle Johnson).

One thing that has always bothered me about the sequel is how the threat of the waxwork was diminished. In the first movie, Sir Wilfred warned that if even one wax creature got out "the world will be contaminated within a few days." The zombie hand escaped, killed Sarah's father and he didn't rise again. Nor was Sarah effected when she was showered in its blood. Regardless, the familiar but new direction the movies goes in, similar to Evil Dead switching from horror to fantasy/horror, was good.

I miss them too. Being a kid in the 80s and being able to check out all of the movie cases and posters (and later, Nintendo games) was a pretty exciting experience. It got me into horror movies especially, and movies in general. I don't get the same excitement flipping through a streaming service menu and looking at movie descriptions. Then again I tend to look fondly toward the simpler times where there wasn't a computer in everyone's pocket and people used to talk on a phone instead of game on one. Don't get me wrong, technology has brought us some good things, but I would rather be without a majority of it.

I LOVE the Waxwork movies! Yeah, the actress change was a big jarring, but what can you do? Deb was gone and that was that. But both movies are a ton of fun! Hickox is just an awesome director and it's a shame that he stopped when he did. Or maybe a blessing? His output in the late 80's and early 90's is just wonderful stuff. I always tell people....Hellraiser III isn't a good Hellraiser movie, but it's a great Hickcox movie! Same with Warlock 2. Sundown is an unsung vampire flick that is hard to find, but was another one of those vampire flicks that brought about our modern ideas of them. But his treasures, to me, are the Waxwork films. I remember seeing the first one at the video store and being creeped out by the cover and a little nervous about watching and unrated film. And it was pure awesome! Creepy, but fun. And the second one goes full on for that Evil Dead 2 vibe, which isn't hurt by Bruce being in it. I love how it just embraces all those tropes and plays them up for laughs! Whenever I get friends to watch them, it's never a disappointment. I don't think I've ever met anyone that hated them. And to most crowds, the second actually plays better in this day and age. I personally love them both. Wouldn't mind seeing a third one....Not too late....

I met Zach Gilligan at a scifi, horror con several years ago (he was a pretty chill dude btw), and told him that I love this dulogy. He told me that wasn't to surprising considering that he met just as many Waxwork fans as Gremlins fans. He was actually surprised when I said that Waxwork II was my favorite entry.
