The honesty is refreshing! Waylon is a very interesting man. His life was full, that’s for sure! Glad he, and Jessi found true love. Like he says, probably saved his life! Enjoyed listening to his storytelling! His life was covered completely! Thanks for sharing❣️

He's always been apart of folks history in an immense way here in North Western New Mexico, among the Navajo. Bigger than any of the greatest that also spent time here, like Johnny Cash and Gary Stewart. Waylon sang up at the Cathedral in Gallup NM (which was an activity center), Red Rock State Park few miles outside of Gallup NM and the Civic Center in Window Rock AZ; which are just a few places outta of many. Crownpoint NM was where Cash came to visit a friend, an artist 🎨, several dozen miles NW from Gallup and its the place Johnny Cash sings about; in one of his songs 🎵 "Navajo." I was born in '79, so all this was happening before l was born, but l grew up listening to Waylon in the 80's and in the 90's, ld play Waylon's songs in them years. I can say l decided to have myself grow up listening to Waylon for the rest of my adolescent years into my adult years; and never stopped. My 20's ld record Waylon's songs off the CDs 💿 l purchased onto cassette tapes, because it ticked me off something awful everytime one of them darn CDs gotten scratched and no matter how dantly careful you handle them things, they still end gettn f'n scratched. I had a dual CD and cassette tape player in my truck in the 2000's. For every CD and Cassette, l'd label it as "Rodeo Jams" ❤. Very true about what Waylon says about the Navajo, alcohol was consumed socially, but as soon as when them authorities came, they'd (men of that time that just wanted to wind down and listen to good ole tunes, and socialize) have to polish it or pour everything out. Waylon says they drank just the same, meaning in comparison to folklore and its what he observed. Which l seen myself growing up observed too, but occasionally, like any other in any other part of the US, there's always that one or few, that over does it, a few. 😁😄😉 Yeah, we all still continue to blare his songs, we still love his songs 🎵 ❤ 💙 , we still love him and many of us Cowboys still have many of his songs in our "Rodeo Play list." Too many titles to list as E.g. (example), you think of any title and its sure to be listed to play; in any Navajo's device. I'm a artist (painter) myself, which l still have yet to paint one for Waylon and lm thinking it'll have to be a storyteller type. One for Cash too and Gary. I can go on and on about Waylon, but it be just as long as his entire autobiography. And then some, if l get a hold of a lot of folks around here just to ask them about Waylon's packed in crowded standing only concerts they attended. Much love to you all and thank you all for taking the time to read my writing ✍ about Waylon. 😁😉❤👋🏼🤝🏼 God Bless and God Bless The United States of America 🇺🇸.

I had the awesome opportunity to see Waylon and Jesse perform in the showroom at Harrahs in Reno in 1989. My mother in law was their cook. They were a really nice family. Also Waylon stopped by to have a talk to my brother in law about his drinking considering he had been through that kind of life style.

Waylon was so good and why on earth would a woman want him to stop singing and playing? Isn’t that one of the things they fell in love with ? The drugs would have hurt too yes but they all should have known he was born to play and sing! Geez. A woman in a mans life is supposed to do what she could to support what he is happy about. My husband was two men. He loved his job as a aero a space design engineer and he loved drag racing. So by day he worked at his job and I was a computer tech operator, by night we built top alcohol engines. . We had a small shop at out house so it was easy to do the work at night. Our house was full of people in the evenings I knew my husband loved racing when I married him so together we worked to do drag racing and take care of our jobs our home and our child. Lol it was a craxy fun time at our house and if we weren’t at a drag race on the weekend we were at home getting ready for the next drag race or for work stuff the next week. We were busy all the tine.

John and Waylon have a funny story about them living together. I heard John tell it. I’m not sure where you can hear it. He told it on a talk show late night it may have been david letterman. I’d like to find it again cause it was funny. Something like a sliding glass door problem. Hope you guys can find it if you want.

i hate to say it but the drugs and alcohol sets the stage for a great story teller, Yes the drugs and alcohol will kill you faster than a piece of lead outta that old 45 but it also give's one a certain sight not many have seen on the highest levels in the strangest way's.This is why today's music is so different the little kiddy's were told not to cross the wrong side of the tracks and hey didn't....and their music reflects it, Soulless meaningless heartless. thank god for the pioneers,For those who cut the trail with their teeth. God bless each and everyone of them.

Enjoyed hearing his life story but I wish he would have cleaned up his mouth. using God in the way he did is neither funny or entertaining. it's a shame he used that language. Too bad Jesse couldn't pray that cussing demon off him. my husband had a filthy mouth but when I became a Christian he stopped cussing in front of me or y friends. I am a Christian and I like Waylon , just why did he have to use that filthy language he has a vocabulary and it's not needful for him to use it.

Sandra Ellis that's how he spoke. It's second nature to him. He has never put on airs for anyone. I dislike that word as well but other than my brother & sister I never tell anyone not to say that word though I do cringe at it. I don't say it unless I get totally angry. At my age that doesn't happen much. Merry Christmas
