Waylon Jennings Grave and Story 

Oh how awesome you had that privilege. He would certainly be a guy that would be interesting to talk to. I know he experienced a lot. You certainly interviewed him when he was still really big! Johnny Cash would be another great one and that county fair sounds like it really gave some great performances. Do they still do that?

@@RhettyforHistory they stopped bringing in the really big names and the interviews. I got to interview Glen Campbell and Charley Pride back stage as well. Both awesome guys!

You certainly brushed shoulders with some greats? Were there ever any you interviewed that were not pleasant to you?

@@RhettyforHistory all the country folks were folksy. Waylon was actually very nice! Sadly my most negative experience interviewing a celebrity was Michael Landon, who was rather short with me and a bit arrogant. It disappointed me as I figured him to be so different.

I would have too. I always loved him in Bonanza and of course my mother loved Little House on the Prairie. Seemed like his roles were pretty positive so that seems like such a shocker. Are celebrities not as willing to do those types of interviews because of social media?

He is certainly one of those artists that appeals to fans of different genres. I'm sure that was big where you went to college though. Thanks for watching my friend!

For years I played Waylon's "Darling, Let's Turn Back the Years" When Ralph Mooney would play that amazing guitar of his, my African Gray parrot would absolutely go bananas.....he loved that sound!

Carol Bearce, Interesting how time affects/changes a person. Back in the 1960's mom use to listen to country music all the time and I could not stand it when I was a lad ( I'm a Boomer). Then in later years I learned just how good the country music singers 1970's and before really were. They had to have talent. One song always stays with me when I think of mom ( 1942 - 2014). Mom was raised in Kentucky and had 16 brothers and sisters. Back in the day mom would always tear up when " Coal Miners Daughter" came on the radio. Years later I found out why as " Coal Miners Daughter" was exactly like mom's childhood growing up, except with more children running around. An outhouse out back, single seater, pump for well water and such. Her father survived a mine collapse in 1945 and passed few months later and few months before his last son was born. @@RhettyforHistory I forget that I have aged until I look in the mirror, then reality comes crashing down on me. I have heard of the Miranda rights, it’s very well known but I thought it was only an American thing. Just had to google it, and it says: as a general rule, there are no Miranda rights in Australia.

Wow! I figured there was something but wasn't sure. It's really a good thing and especially if you are innocent.

@@RhettyforHistory I have never been arrested, so it’s never occurred to me. A criminal does have to right to say nothing as it can be used against them later but if you do not provide your name and address they can get cranky, and they can arrest you for that apparently.

That's been a hot topic of debate here too. I have seen a lot of social media video like that where people are harassing the cops by not giving the name etc.

Waylon has a lot to tell on him but I really tried to get it down to some essential things. He really experienced a lot in his life both good and bad but he sure entertained a lot of us. Thank you for watching Leslie!

He actually has a marker that is about three times larger than the others in the cemetery. This is a memorial garden cemetery so they are all going to be flat and nothing really big or extravagant. He was certainly a great entertainer. Thank you got watching!

He said "Your the bass man. He is still the bass man for Alan Jackson. There were also some kids named McIntire in that class.

@@RhettyforHistory yes, there were times when people were in the wrong place at the wrong time and were arrested for being where drugs were or a burglary had occurred. When we gathered enough evidence that cleared them of such then they were released. Fortunately, I too never got, as we call it, mirandized. Thanks Rhett.

And he Free lanced for many Country music stars.. That he travelled, at times, for Johnny Cash. Roy Clark And numerous other STARS, per a phone call. I miss them all.

As you and I both know the military falls under a different set of rules. So were you a Master at Arms?

@@RhettyforHistory, No. Primary was GMG. Secondary was 9545. I had full powers of arrest ( including officers), armed and police car. MAA would be more of a security guard so to speak.

Yes I was taking law enforcement classes about that same time and they taught may not will.

@@dscobellusa, The chief who taught classroom had his 20 in at the time. He came in one day in a huff and started out by saying he did not agree with what he was about to say but was ordered to instruct us on it. He said due to political correctness we were not allowed to call a police car a black and white as it might offend blacks. We could not call a flip board a flip board because it might offend Filipinos. He went on with more of the PC terms we had to use. During this time he kept shaking his head and saying when our class graduated he was walking over and turning in his retirement papers. He said he felt sorry for those who planned on making the navy a career as it would only get worse. We graduated and that very same day he turned in his retirement papers. What he said about things getting worse, he was right about that.

I have also heard versions stating "can and will."
