LOVETHEMAN, LOVETHESONG. Named my son sfter him in 78. "I would walk through Hell on Sunday to see my Rose in Paradise". R.I.P. WAYLON. Thanks for post........
A nigh perfect Country record.... Two step, quality lyrics, beautiful chord progression and melody, dynamics, a savage hook and a real singer/songwriter ... That Harmonica is the nuts on this version.... Everley Brothers and Emmy Lou on back up... Come on!! .... Dream Team....
This reminds me of my friend that passed away several months ago im a car accident he loved waylon jennings.tjis one is for you christopher jennings bragg i love you my friend.
@onechordshortofasong I completely agree. even though Ive known about her since i was a kid, for some reason it never dawned on me how incredibly beautiful she was.
This is a fantastic recording. Thanks. I love Waylon & Billy Joe Shaver. They were the heart of Real Texas Outlaw Country. And Billy's still out there doing it.
Got to see him in person back around 2000 when he played in my home town of Farmington Missouri at our country days. He was a man of many words. They had him play at the fair grounds outside the city limits because you couldn't drink beer in town while watching him.He told the city council that either let people drink beer at his show or he wasn't playing...so he played a mile away at the stock car track. My wife and I had a front row seat and our cooler and it was worth every minute. He told everyone he was sorry about the seating but if someone wanted to drink (him too) than by God they played for it.What a show.
I miss Waylon so much. Now all I can do is watch him on RU-vid and bring those memories back night after night. Make your mark up there too Hoss! Hokey Sloan
This is very nice. I don't care what people said about you but I believe what I seen there. This is great to see your content. It can go worldwide. You can do it.if you have courage.just do it.👍
This show "Chet Atkins, Certified Guitar Player" was just on my local PBS station last night. I was was hoping I could find this clip of Waylon. Great man....cool song. Also Emmy Lou Harris and the Everly Brothers on backup vocals.
In most cases Waylon's live performances are faster than his recordings for some reason and I like them better that way (faster). I can't even listen to the recorded version of "Are you ready for the country" anymore...
