wonderful interview of wayne--great actor and savvy businessman--a friend said he was more natural of an actor than alan--- I only wish that there would have been more episodes based on his character--thank you! wonderful memories of wayne!

MASH was and is a wonderful way to relieve anxiety. Its full of empathy sympathy and caring. People crave seeing that kind of proper Human behavior

He's the spitting image of himself. Really had changed very little. He still had the same smile as when he was on MASH. Such a joyful face.

I love his work!! I wish House Calls was on DVD. I kept hoping they would bring that show back, but then years went by, and then Lynn Redgrave passed away. RIP Wayne and Lynn!

I have been watching episodes of MASH on MeTV. I watch Wayne whenever he's in the scene, and he gave 100% to his character. Also, he had such charisma.

Wayne was a excellent actor. His character Trapper was a great opposite to Alan's Hawkeye. Lots of laughs and a view of a serious piece of history.

Watch him in “Chiefs” mini-series with Charlton Heston, Keith Carradine as Foxy the serial killer and Billy Dee Williams. 5 star script and actors/acting.

What a coincidence. The ad that played just before I watched this had a voice-over by Donald Sutherland, the movie Hawkeye.

Add Mash to the shows that really worked well for the time. The actors/characters were just great for a sitcom. A truly great show. Sad to know that Wayne Rogers passed. Good Night Trapper

He was a very smart and wealthy business man .

What an incredibly nice, professional, reasonable guy. Trapper was my favorite character on the show (in the movie too but for different reasons). Part of that was because he seemed so down-to-earth and that obviously comes from Wayne Rogers himself.

First time remembering Wayne Rogers on TV was on Gunsmoke the early episodes that were black and white and a half hour run time. It was 1959 season 5 and Wayne Rogers young character was falsely accused of murder and Matt exposes the real killer and saves Roger’s character by just a few hours from hanging.

Wayne's absolute best role was in Chiefs a terrific mini-series in the 1980s.

In the Movie Trapper John is the main character and Hawkeye is more of HIS sidekick.

Wayne got things slightly backwards Silverman took ABC out of 3rd spot. He went to NBC afterwards and ran it into the ground that ended being used to rebuild what it became in the 80's. Silverman was at NBC from 78 to 81.

Interesting how at the end he quotes from Iron Guts Kelly (season 3 episode 4) of M*A*S*H. This is the same episode he recalled on the 30th Anniversary reunion special.

I thought that Wayne Rogers/Trapper was short-changed on M*A*S*H. He wasn't given much to do except offer Hawkeye another martini. He was wasted. Mike Farrell made sure that the writers did not do the same thing to B.J.

I asked a friend once, which character on MASH am I? He said Trapper. I thanked him profusely. Trapper has always been my favorite character. Ever since I was a kid. My friend was Colonel Potter, by the way.

Rogers said that once a place a spot was found for mash it took off. That spot was the Saturday night lineup. The brilliant CBS Saturday night; the family, MTM, The Bob newhart show, mash and The Carol Burnett show.

They became a hit with their first TV guide cover. I remember it well and it did spark a conversation about this new show that was rwally funny

I'm curious to know why didn't Wayne Rogers play his character in the "Trapper John MD" spinoff? They got Pernell Roberts, a totally different actor with a different demeanor. Just curious.

It's stunning as I watch this. I never realized before how much Wayne Rogers looks like Jackie Martling from the Howard Stern Show. I almost expect Wayne to bust out in Jackie's laugh!

It's kind've a shame that he didn't realize or maybe even care how much his work on MASH meant to a lot of people. Not understanding how much it meant to viewers when Henry died? It seems like a rather cavalier attitude to have when your career relied on people forming an emotional attachment to your work. I'm glad to see he didn't get hurt by leaving MASH although he almost doesn't seem to grasp that's how people know him. It's not for some movie with Mickey Rooney or some play in Williamstown or even House Calls. He's forever Trapper John.

Wayne Rogers was the best support actor next to Alan Alda.

I'll tell ya what. he was on GUNSMOKE , like several other M*A*S*H regulars. and many,many more guests .but on one episode of MASH, Frank thinks he discovers gold ,and Wayne Rogers says the line, "that's pyrot, not gold" excuse my spelling. on GUNSMOKE, he says the very same line to Ed Begley sr. yes, I have no life.

Wayne and Alan were absolutely perfect for their parts and played them to perfection. I can't begin to tell you, that after 35 or 40 years of watching MASH, I still find it to be very funny and entertaining. RIP to Wayne and all who have passed. And on a side note, Trapper was soo much better than BJ.

These guys talk like MASH cam out of nowhere to become a smash hit. Are they not going to mention the fact that MASH was a wildly successful movie. Wayne Rogers was playing Elliott Gould's role from the movie. I think they were pretty sure this would be a hit TV show.

Nice interview of Wayne Rogers. He was a great actor and the chemistry between he and Alan could not be beat it was amazing. loved the show which there was more MASH. Which there were more shows with Wayne and Alan. The writing was fantastic.

I loved Mr. Rogers on MASH far more than Mike Farrell--Trapper John was a far better character than that "sappy" B.J Hunnicutt that Farrell played

His accent is puzzling me. To my non-American ears, it sounds overtly New York. This came as a surprise because he never sounded that way as Trapper John. But then I looked him up in Wikipedia, and he was born and grew up in Alabama. So now I’m really confused.

I kinda forgot how mean Hawkeye (and Trap) could be to Radar now and then. Making fun of the guy's height was okay, and kinda funny sometimes. but in this opening scene they just flat-out call him ugly. Maybe you have to be a woman to see it, but I never really understood why Hawkeye was portrayed as the stud of the camp anyway. I guess he's charming (albeit quite often in a fake way, mostly must to get laid) but does he really qualify as gorgeous or something? Maybe as the best of the rest... Luckily the Radar-Hawkeye dynamic grew beyond Radar being seen as a lackey to make fun of whenever someone needed to boost their self-esteem.

Wayne Rogers was a terrific actor and his comedy will live on. That being said the interviewer is terrible here. The research for this interview is woefully lacking. How do you not know what this man did before Mash. Obviously a hack job in order to just produce content and revenue. An excellent opportunity was wasted here. Its so evident that even Mr Rogers playfully forgets the work that he has done. Do you think this is accidental? No he knows exactly the work he did. What he is doing in a very sly comical way feigning forgetfulness is deliberately trashing this interview. It continues through all 5 parts of this slock. Its brilliant, he's brilliant. The interviewer is not. Believe it not the only thing this interview does is greatly increase my appreciation of the art of Wayne Rogers. No wonder he was a wildly successful businessman.

I never liked his character on mash. For some reason I never found him funny. Nice person though.

I don't buy this 'absurdity of war' glibness: The enemy may be absurd, but is none the less deadly, and must be met with defeating force.

Alan is...well dont hurt his ego...its easily bruised... watched him turn kind nasty with a guy for taking a friendly jab at something he said for being inaccurate scientifically...spent the rest of the event trying to pick fights with the guy..the guy was thankfully like me and, enjoyed it and just found it funny he was so offended by being corrected in a friendly but snarky way... one of the other cast who was there said "hes gonna be impossible for days" LOL... not a bad person but..big ego... never got that impression from the majority of the rest of the cast, gary...well i know several people who have known him for years...when drunk he will admit he became full of himself and was a jerk alot of times to his coworkers, and regretted leaving, and was quite upset "radar" wasnt picked up...hes not a bad person, but when sober cannot admit this stuff...cant blame him... looking at how you acted when young, after you have matured and can see things from a more mentally mature pov.. anybody who dosnt have "oh gods, thats embarrassing" shit in their past... is a liar.. or psychopath... one of the few shows where, im told by a friends father, who was crew on the show for its whole run, and has pictures and stories, that, even with the ego issues and attitude issues, there wasnt anybody on cast long term that they didnt respect and like, at least part of the time, and, he says, gary became nearly intolerable for a while, thinking he was the real star not alan.... but, even then, the way he acted wasnt anything new, when he left it genuinely was both a shock, and a relief for some of the crew....sometimes he was nice and personable but, he would also turn and snap randomly or just be in a snappy angry mood for days on end... just unhappy that he wasnt getting the respect and billing he felt he deserved....also im guessing some personal shit was going on outside work making it worse..(if you got shit friends, you can endup with a shit attitude...) i think i could get on with them all, but would also drive gary and alan nuts with my sarcastic troll humor.... (my friends get it..most guys get it, tomboys always get it...heh..) anyway.... genuine respect for the cast and crew who brought us one of the longest running shows ever...that rarely felt stale...

I would like to see this interview done much closer to his departure from MASH, clearly his memories had faded significantly by the time this was done. Beginning the interview with swearing added nothing here and probably should've been edited out, not to mention the technical side of this is as poor as it gets. If you are lucky enough to be granted a sit down interview with an "A" list star it should be done with good equipment and an experienced crew, zooming in and out made this look like a practice session for a crew in training and audio pops here and there are just terrible.

A similar value system? Rogers was a republican and Alda is a democrat for crying out loud.

I REALLY hate it when people use the name of Jesus like it is "filler", or "trash" you just toss around in a conversation when you don't know what else to say. I mean, think about it: Jesus is KNOWN historically to have existed on this earth, to have " gone around doing good" according to the Jewish historian Josephus, who lived at the time, and then, according to Josephus, was "killed by our religious leaders" --- just as described in the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John; and just as was prophesied would happen to the Messiah in Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22. So he died for the sins of the whole world, God's sacrificial Lamb for all time offered on the cross --- and what do we do but spit out his Name so disrespectfully??? This is CRAZY!!! You don't hear in Hindu society people cussing and saying "Oh ____" (one of their thousands of gods; you don't hear believers in Confucian societies using Confuscius' name as a curse word; you certainly don't hear Islamic people using "Allah" as a curse word, do you? I believe it is spiritually motivated: the Devil and his demons HATE Jesus, the Son of God. They are always trying to denigrate him and bring even just his name down to the gutter. They don't care about the other gods (that's 'little 'g' ) in this world. Think about it. That's why Jesus' name comes out of the mouth of most people as a curse word, a careless word so easily of those who do not know, respect and love the Lord, Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you don't realize who Jesus really is, pick up a Bible and ask God to reveal Himself to you. If you are sincere and humble, he WILL hear you. "And you shall seek me, and you shall find me, when you shall search for me with ALL your heart." Jeremiah 29:13
