Hey Conure! I love the way you explain technical concepts. If you have a to-do list for videos, could you add the new template pool aliases from the latest snapshot to it?
Thanks! I currently don't really have much of a plan for videos lol, I just kinda upload whenever I feel inspired for something (and if I have freetime, which is rare, because school is a lot). I haven't gotten a chance to look at what the new alias system actually does, but if I do get around to it one day and the feature is particularly interesting/useful, I could potentially cover it.
I messed around with a lot of concepts involving having waystones on multiple pages, and there was just no way I could find to do it that wasn't incredibly annoying (especially considering you can't use commands to detect which page a player is looking at). Other waystone packs I've come across use an inventory-based UI approach, which has the following hindrances: - limits the number of waystones that can be placed in any world, rendering naturally-spawned waystones completely non-viable - forces all players to use the same "network", so the logbook method (which feels more immersive to me) is also non-viable - requires constant-chunk-load tricks which I like to avoid - requires MANY more constant-tick commands to track inventory actions. This method was the one I settled upon which was a) not too inconvenient (I thought) and b) incredibly internally efficient, so as to add basically zero additional server lag. Like I said, the whole pack is just 1 command per tick. And there inlies the beauty of so many different waystone implementations existing: everyone gets to pick the one that suits them best. In your case, I might recommend KawaMood's implementation! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wcYG_fns7LU.htmlfeature=shared
