WBTB, or the Wake Back to Bed technique, one of the simplest and easiest beginner methods that can show you how to lucid dream. All you need is an alarm clock and some free time, and you'll be able to lucid dream tonight if all goes well. The WBTB technique is simply, and once you've learned how to WBTB you'll be able to practice it every night.

Hey if you’ve tried the usual mantras before, I heard this one that I really like and I feel like it makes more sense to use. I haven’t used it yet but I will, and hope to have more success with it. The mantra is “the next thing I see will be a dream” I’m not sure why I like it so much more, it just makes more sense to me. I guess it’s that “lucid” is an arbitrary word and I’ve only had one lucid dream and it wasn’t that clear, it was blurry, I didn’t have much control. But to me saying “the next thing I see will be a dream” is more obvious. Cuz that’s what I’m trying to do, is recognized that you’re in a dream in the first place. Idk, if anyone is scrolling through these comments, you might like this phrase better. This phrase might actually work better for me just because it makes more sense. I’m not sure yet

Thanks for this tutorial! I had my second lucid dream last night, except sometimes I couldn't see? My eyes were like glued shut and I couldn't open them. I could feel and hear everything tho. HAs this happened to anyone else?

Hello! Ive seen a lot of your videos, and enjoy your content, but im having difficulty having my first lucid dream. I have resorted to using the W.I.L.D. technique because i dont sleep for very long. i have a dream journal that i started, and im starting to use reality checks. do you have any tips for me?

Yes but it’s quite rare and isn’t of much concern. If sleep analysis does happen (which it most likely won’t) then don’t panic. Just repeat in your mind, “I am in control. This is not real.”

Gent Limani when it’s lucid you will remember. Make sure you do reality checks irl (not in dreams) so that when you get into a dream you will just do one out of habit and realise you’re in a dream. I had my first one last night was so realistic

just so y’all know this does work, i did it on accident last week cause i woke up to do something after around 6-7 hours and then got bored and went back to sleep and realized i was dreaming mid dream so i became lucid, it was the coolest thing ever i’m gonna try and recreate it

Personal experience... I had a similar mantra awhile back and I remember in my dream I was trying to lucid dream. I even said my mantra, never clicked though.

The mantra thing works if you wake up at like 4 to 5:30 and you stay perfectly still and say it to yourself occasionally as your about to fall asleep. The purpose i doesn’t even have to be a mantra you cold just realize that you are still conscious as you start to fall aaleep. The mantra isn’t necessary and definitely not effective if you’re just repeating it over and over again.

I had a lucid dream for the first time a few days ago. I set an alarm for 5 hours after I went sleep, so around 7am. I woke up randomly at 6:30 which I found weird. Then I stayed awake and did some reading. I even took a quick shower and the went back to bed. I quickly fell into a deep state of relaxation And I felt as though my visual field was expanding even though I had my eyes shut. I could feel my body falling asleep whilst I my conscious mind was still awake. As I drifted into the dream state I could hear what sounded like fuzzy tv static and some eery echoey sounds. I don’t know how much time had passed but next thing I knew I was on my bedroom floor. I thought I had literally fallen out of bed irl but I was actually dreaming! I wasn’t aware that I was in fact dreaming yet. I looked into the mirror and looked into my eyes. My pupils were big and my eyes were bright and colourful. Then I looked at my computer screen and it said something which I can’t remember but it was enough to make my realise I was dreaming. As soon as I realised I was dreaming I got so excited I almost woke myself up 😂 I actually opened my eyes but quickly went back to sleep. I started flying around, went for a drive, met some friends, hung out with a girl and did so many things I can’t remember right now. It was an amazing experience and I’m going to try and replicate it tonight

That's really cool! Good luck having more. The key is consistency and not giving up. I have been trying for 3 weeks now and i can tell I'm getting closer. I do many reality checks and keep a dream journal.

Get a dog they are great for WBTB they wake you up same time on schedule 6 hours later REM every night then when you go back to sleep you blast off into dream realm no problem super vivid dreams

this method actually works very well for me!! after i've been woken up by my alarm, i just stay up for about 30 minutes then focus on what i want to lucid dream about... i get sleep paralysis a couple minutes after, and lucid dreaming while you're in sleep paralysis is so easy. i just keep on focusing on what i want to dream about and visualizing it, then i'm there!!

Every time I try this, I randomly breath heavy, and my body feels like it's asleep, is this a good sign??? If it is, what do I do, just keep on laying down there and relaxing?

Doesn't sound much different from the one in your other video,quess it's an upgrade though.Either way cool video,one thing that happens to me often when trying there methods is that I wake three times at night (3rd one being after REM) and it's always the same hours and same minutes somehow,biological clock I quess?😅 and while it's good that I automatically wake up(without alarm) after 6 hours of sleep regardless of when I fall asleep.However the other two seem to ruin 9/10 of my attempts,since its almost always hard for me to fall asleep again.

It isn't really an upgrade. The one I talk about in the other video is exactly this, the combination of WBTB and MILD methods. I've made separate tutorials for WBTB and MILD too though because a lot of people are searching trying to find guides for those :) - I personally only ever bother with the combination of the two (which is the same technique from the previous video) I also have the same thing you mentioned happen to me. I actually stopped using an alarm over a year ago because my body just started waking me up after 6 hours without me trying. So now when I wake up I just start saying the mantra and go back to sleep :)

Make plans before you practice whichever technique you decide to use. I had this problem for a long time - I'd get in a lucid dream and it'd just overwhelm me, I wouldn't remember how to stabilise it, I wouldn't know what to do (and so would rush into trying to do everything at once), etc. So now while I'm going back to sleep doing my method I'll think in my head what I plan to do in the lucid dream, and it'll start with say: - Being calm and relaxed. Then stabilising using the hand rubbing method. Then doing some basic stuff, then going on to do whatever it is I want to do after that.

When I do MILD, I actually found out that the stiff mantra thing doesn’t work for me. What I do is I do this rambling thing I do by habit when I’m really nervous about doing something right It’ll go something like: “Ok ok, I need to do this, this needs to happen, and I need to do this because if I don’t do this then this will happen and I don’t want this to happen, so I need to do this, this needs to happen and then I’ll do this and then I need to do this” And for lucid dreaming it might look more like: “Ok I need to have a lucid dream *tonight* it’s gonna happen, I just need to do it, this is gonna happen, it’s gonna be awesome” See these things work better I feel when you just say what feels right to say in that moment. Maybe this will help some people maybe it won’t but that’s how I do it

Zombie Titanz good! The point here is that you wake up youreself before the longer REM periods and set the intention again-wake a little..I never do wbtb with wild tehnique and have almoust every time a lucid dream after doing wbtb and go back to sleep with the intention! The longer I stay awake the better-sometimes its just hard to go back to sleep if I wate to long cos of the noise out site in thie hour etc..so if youre a light sleeper just dring a glass of a watter,set an intention and go realx(in meditative way) to sleep..combaning this with regulary dream hournal and realety checks will do the trick☺..lot of success!

Wtf I sleep at 12am , and wake up 6am . i try to stay away from the bed for like 50 mnit and i went back to bed and go to sleep . 20 mnt of sleep and i got vivid lucid dream , damn it's not the first time but it's really work , but the dream last for 10 mnit only , gonna try this daily Hope me luck 😆

So I have tried wtbtb 3 nights so far and I will try tonight the first night I had a lucid dream but for like 3 seconds then I woke up. Other two nights I remember having a dream when I wake up after 6 hours and another dream when I wake up in the morning. I can't become lucid in them. But both those nights I did wake up between going to bed and the 6 hour alarm. Last night I woke up and my overhead fan was gone and there was a balloon and I knew I was in a dream but I looked back at the balloon and there was a fan! I need help I Realy wanna lucid dream!

You can onlu turn off your alarm but turning it off normally.. just wake up whilst in REM and then go back to sleep once you have gotten up for 5 min to 30 min..

I'd avoid looking at computer screens while in the Wake part of WBTB. The colour temperature of the typical computer or smartphone screen will wake your brain up and prohibit sleep.

I took a nap before work and I ended up lucid dreaming and I was in a truck with my old bestfriend and her sister that I haven’t talked to in a year and I told them I’m gonna be late to work can you drop me off ? And I realized wait why am I with them right now and that I was lucid dreaming I got so excited and started saying I’m dreaming ! And they got silent and they kinda just disappeared and I blacked out and woke up

The first time I tried this all I said throughout the day was “am I dreaming” and I was lucid that night idk 😐 Edit: also I had to remember what I dreamed about the last night. Almost like a mental dream journal. (Not nearly as effective as a physical dream journal)

When repeating the mantra after waking up, do I have to be laying in bed and saying it my head, or do I have to be out of bed, repeat the phrase, and then go to bed? Does it matter?

I say it in my head while still laying in bed. I don't know how it would affect it if you got out of bed to say it - I presume it would still work, but in bed in my head has always been the way I've done it. :)

You are supposed to wake up before rem so when you go back to sleep you fall into rem sleep with a really good reminder about lucid dreaming

No but you might have it. You’ll get it for sure if you lay still in bed because your body will fall asleep and your mind will wander off in the dream world

That’s tuff I used to have nightmares but at age 16 I just stopped having them and in the past 12 months I only had like 3 “nightmares” they weren’t really scary I mean it looked scary but I didn’t feel the sensation of fear for some reason maybe I’m growing up

St a alarm for 6hoirs after I fell asleep but I didnt take into account he time it would take me to fall asleep and the alarm woke me up and I did the matra and the other steps then I fell asleep and I had a dream that I was trying to lucid dream so I think I woke up to early

Stay up for 24 hours on a day that you can afford to be very drowsy, then when the time comes, you will hopefully be able to fall asleep at will. This works for me, but it might not work for you so take it as you will.

I was so anxious I couldn't get back to sleep. Didn't sleep rest of the night haha and the same thing happened next time I tried it. All i needed for lucid dreaming was dream journals and reality checks

bro i had a lucid dream where i was in a park and i walked up to this kid and i said you wanna see something cool and then i felt this rush of energy in my dream body and then i shapeshifted into a WOLF i was on all fours and then the dream ended i had so many dreams like that and they stopped. i used to have wicked lucid dreams for about a year and then they stopped,. and then i manage to do astral projection i felt a lot of Vibrations and Electric currents running down my body and they kept getting intense so i started to hear everything around me and then i got telepathy through the Vibrations on my brain i started feeling zapping in my brain and it hurts my bones when i astral shapeshift its pretty scary but cool at the same time but its fuckin scary bro no hate this tutorial worked for me the wake back to bed method works i just lay on my back side if ever wanna have a lucid dream i had advanced dreams to and futuristic dreams and futuristic travels. its very intense so i started smoking ciggerettes cause it calmed my mind i wasn't able to take all the information i had to take away all VICES like drinking smoking weed and ciggerettes for about 4 years and then i started up again after i mean just ciggerettes but u have to basically stay away from MEAT and eat more healthier less meat and less technology and less radiation on the mind cause it stops the dreams and astral projection mode if u stick to your VICES then u wont have any Lucid Dreams So Wake back to bed method Laying on your back in the dead mans position then say what u wanna do in your dream Less Technology cause of radiation. Less Meat and more healthier foods and last STAY AWAY FROM VICES like cigs weed drinking and drugs u gotta remove all that to have lucid dreaming and astral projection but i pretty much covered everything on my end and also u can shift physically through astral projection but u have to connect your Astral body with your physical body u have to activate your MERAKBA and u have to also have a dream about your merkaba too and it will then be activated if u see your merkaba in a way

Phoenix's World Sorry for the 9 month late response but basically WBTB Method: The one explained here, works best combined with MILD, Mnemonic induced lucid dreams. You fall back asleep with both these methods. WILD, as the clue is in the name, Wake induced lucid dreams. You are aware and awake, and never actually fall asleep during this time. Yes, you may encounter sleep paralysis. But from what I’ve gathered it’s one of the best methods to use. This bugged me that nobody gave a detailed response lmao but there you go

Don't worry, it's a low chance. But sleep paralysis it's good! You cam get directly in a lucid dream from sleep paralysis. Search WILD lucid dreaming for more info.

you know I try to do this most nights with wild but I always wake up like an hour before the alarm goes off (and I swear to god only when I set an alarm) and get overcome with the overwhelming sensation of I "I don't want to be woken up in an hour" and i literally stay conscious until the second i hit off, on that alarm button

Mxvrd nah just used the method where you tell yourself your going to lucid dream. What I did was tell myself over and over again in my head what I’m going to do I’m dream and that’s it.

About the mild when I say a phrase “I will lucid dream” then I get a regular dream no lucid dream at all

You must be doing it wrong. You must be focus, and to visualize the dream to order to lucid dream. See the reason why you're not having a lucid dream is probably because you are not doing reality checks so often. Also doing mild won't have a greater effect on triggering a lucid dream, sometimes it can. But if you're trying to do the Mild technique (Mneomic induced Lucid dream) Try say your mantra in your head, repeat it till you get dozy.

No you will not get sleep paralysis unless you do the WILD technique in which you try to get into sleep paralysis. Also even if you do get sleep paralysis then it's exactly what you want. If you do get it focus only on being lucid in your next dream and this will prevent you from having any scary experiences. But you can use sleep paralysis to become lucid as explained in the use of the WILD technique. Dont worry about it. You will not have any scary experiences in sleep paralysis as long as you only focus on lucidity for your next dream.

This method is really easy and I can do it almost every night but the dreams don’t feel very vivid or real. Whenever I realize I’m dreaming in a dream it feels very real but this method is very dull.

Im doing this differently and set my alarm for every hour and falling to sleep to the light sound of some music only to wake up to the same song because I also made the song my alarm I will update this in a week and tell if I made any progress and if you wanna know I plan on going to sleep around 8:30 and my first alarm starts at 11:31 pm plus doing reality checks 3 times a day before I go to bed
