For those of you talking about the "robotic" choreography, this type of music calls for sharper movements. Some places could be better, but not all artistry is grace (which Jordyn actually shows if you know how to look for it) and balletic movement. They did a very good job considering the music. I love it! And she always seems to be smiling, whether she really is or not! That's pretty amazing!

After seeing her at all kind of championships or tournaments both home and international, I think she performed the best in this one, every move so in tune with all those perfect landings and spins. She deserved the gold in all-around in this thing. Gymnastics is all about the present performance, man.

@iheartgymnastics412 i completely agree, what makes this routine so captivating is , combined with her skill, is her interpretation of the music. the moves fit around the music, and for once, its not a droning noise in the background.

Whether you like her routines or not, Jordyn always puts a smile on your face! But I love her floor routine because although there are other countries that emphasize on balletic dance styles, sometimes watching the same kind of choreography gets a little boring. For example, the Russians are great with ballet, but sometimes I feel they could "pump it up" once in a while; which is why Elena Zamolodchikova was my favorite gymnast beacuse she wasn't a typical Russian ballerina.

@Missnewyork28 Jordyn won by 0.33, but still, she won. And of course the artistry is important, but I can't see anyone who was looking for artistry in Shawn Johnson's gymnastics when she won All-Around World title in 2007, then a silver medal at the Olympics. Let's face it, she was far from being artistic and even though Jordyn is not as well, she has a better presentation and less robotic moves than Johnson. And both of them are amazing gymnasts, they just have their own style.
@ChainChomp2
@ChainChomp2 13 лет назад
@s0revl01 At the end of my comment I said that in 2011 most of the best gymnasts showed up, since they take from the top all-arounders instead of inviting random unknown gymnasts that would lose to USA gymnasts, but then USAG had to bend the rules and sub in Wieber and Dalton. Then come the American-mindset judges hardly scoring routines accurately; they even tried to put up Wieber's floor score without the OOB penalty. It was hardly about who performed better, but the judges' preference.
@ChainChomp2
@ChainChomp2 13 лет назад
@s0revl01 I really hate it when that NBC trio (and people on here) keep bringing that competition up. That competition and American judges in general are JOKES. "The most prestigious competition on American soil" because it's the ONLY competition here, and other countries always sent their second-rate athletes while the US always sent its best creating the false image that the US is the best to their own people. In 2011 most of the best gymnasts show up and they're not even judged fairly!

As now (October 12th) the difference is very close during the classification rule AA where Komova RUS 60.157, Wieber US 60.032 Yao Jinnan CH 59.031, Raisman US 58.432
@volleyballgurly15
@volleyballgurly15 13 лет назад
@lisam1987 But you have to take into consideration that Jordyn downgraded for Worlds. For the Olympics it will be a bigger battle. Komova beat Jordyn by less than a point, so the tinest mistake from her can hand the gold right to Jordyn. And if Jordyn can stick a few landings and not make any major mistakes, it should close the gap. Jordyn downgrading is what is making this so easy for Komova. It really is still anybodys game.
@brettonoverton6902
@brettonoverton6902 5 месяцев назад
She was such a hard worker. So many people go on about Komova not winning in 2012 and Gabby isn’t the real champion. I usually just say facts and then remind them that Jordon beat Komova in 2011.
@volleyballgurly15

@KarpfenKarpfen I feel like China is always inconsistent. Komova is strong for Russia, but Dementyeva can get alittle shaky at times. Same with Belo. If they are capiable of getting through cleanly than they have a shot. The US was rock solid during qualifications and finished 3 points ahead of everyone!
@KarpfenKarpfen
@KarpfenKarpfen 13 лет назад
@volleyballgurly15 I agree on Maroney in vault final. But I think Team final is pretty open since USA came through very well while Russia and china lost many points because of major mistakes and falls. If they fix that, it won't be easy for the USA. He kexin alone normally scores 3 points higher, which can make a huge difference.
@KarpfenKarpfen
@KarpfenKarpfen 13 лет назад
@volleyballgurly15 But what i meant was that if China and Russia hit properly USA won't be 3 points in the lead anymore. They were clean and lead now by 3 points. But Russia and China lost over 3 points and with their hit routines TF isn't a sure win for USa. that's all i meant.
@volleyballgurly15
@volleyballgurly15 13 лет назад
@KarpfenKarpfen Correct but Jordyn downgraded alot more! Her bar dismount is what is making a dramatic diffrence because it's so easy! I wish she would at least go with the one she preformed at American Cup in 2011.

It's even worse than that. :( Jordyn had the 4th highest overall score of all the gymnasts who competed in qualifying. The top 24 get to compete, but only 2 per country since the rule change after Sydney. 20 of the gymnasts competing for the title earned lower scores than her. In what world is that fair? Oh my gosh, that poor girl. She scored over a 60. And she can't compete. No wonder she's heartbroken.

Dream beam routine for Wieber: 1. Jump to center splits A 2. Free walkover + ff + loso DBC .2 CV 3. Switch leap + back pike CC .1 CV 4. Split jump + sissone AA 5. Free cartwheel + side somi tucked DD .2 CV 6. L turn + turn CA .1 CV 7. Johnson 1/2 D 8. Back tuck 1/1 + ff FB .2 CV 9. ff + ff + triple full BBF .2 CV FFDDDDCC 3.4 + 2.5 + 1.0 = 6.9. Huge D score. I doubt she'll pull the triple dismount around so with a ff + ff + 2.5, she'll have a 6.6. Massive score =D

@MrAMEENALNABBOUT I guess it's only obvious to you that it was "paid". Look regardless of anyone's opinions, these girls all deserved to be there, they worked hard their whole lives and are all incredible gymnasts, the best in the world, no one can deny that. Some people just have better days than others, some judges are different, i'm sure that results could have come out differently if the competition had been a different day. Regardless we should praise them all, not hate on them.

@MrAMEENALNABBOUT I suspect that any competition in which your favorite gymnast doesn't win becomes "fixed." I wonder if Victoria realizes what delusional, hateful fans she has online. I doubt she'd approve of you calling Jordyn Wieber ugly. You and that other crazy girl who's claiming that some Russian gymnast claims a judge told her the competition would be fixed are not living in the real world. You're making Victoria look very bad. Don't do that to her.

@k3broken Yeah I have to agree, I mean she is an amazing gymnast, like the way she stuck those landings was un-believable but for some reason i think that under her talents is a mean girl and she just isn't that kind? It's not about what gymnasts look like. It's about who showed up to win that day, who has the most heart and dedication. I'm not saying Komova does have heart or dedication, but she came in the the competition expecting to win. She is conceded and arrogant. As if the silver wasn't enough. Yes gold is the best but she should be happy she medaled. Taking off her medal is a show of being non grateful and being a sore loser. If she can't accept she won silver then she doesn't deserve gold let alone
@ShawnVikaKomova2012

@GymchampZW Wieber will win. Komova won't throw the Amanar. I highly doubt it. And I agree completely. Grishina had a hamstring injury months ago (but it wasn't serious). I'm not sure why we haven't seen anything from her lately... Russia's trying to keep her a secret maybe? It's working too. I see comments on RU-vid and people are saying "Komova and Mustafina will dominate in the AA in 2012!" and it's pretty funny because Grishina probably has a better shot at qualifying for the AA over Musty.
@agators212
@agators212 13 лет назад
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 as for the CoP, i dont know what to do with it because the difficulty has gone beyond what i have expected. the old CoP would differentiate between difficulty (gogean's win over kui 97). sure that was after 96 but that is my biggest fear had the code of points stayed in a 10.0 system. or lysenko DTY 92 yet everyone was still scoring higher with a 1/1 twist. or mo and lilia tie for bars silver in 95...like what? but i do miss compulsories though.
@agators212
@agators212 13 лет назад
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 this isn't a fight, its me venting out frustration. musty's vault still is poor no matter how you see it and should never have gottan 9.2+ E-score. maroney didnt stick hers but its the closest non stick ive seen on that vault in a long while. her slightest hop 9.5+ E-score. you don't seem to find any objection to musty's overscore. it frustrates me because no matter what the CoP will never ever get it right. crossed ankles > bent knees crossed ankles seperation=ponor EW.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@agators212 Maroney didn't stick her Amanar in TF last night. She had a small hop. You should watch it for yourself before you make claims. And I wasn't trying to ever start a fight, but that's what your tone is insinuating you want. Do you know why 1988-1996 was called the golden age by several? Because of the good CoP. Why did Beijing suck? Terrible CoP. Thank God Pavlova and Semenova were there. Gymnastics should go back to that system. Grishina has the prettiest triples with crossed ankles.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@GymchampZW CONTINUED before and it's true. The reason I posted the comment where I said Komova downgraded much more than Wieber was because some people were commenting saying how Wieber downgraded and that's why Komova beat her. That's not true at all. Komova downgraded much more and Wieber was, like we both said, shaky. At least she wasn't as shaky as Dementyeva... If Aleksandrov pulls a Gutsu/Galieva, Anna could probably beat Yao for the bronze.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@GymchampZW I don't deny I am biased towards Komova, but not one of these comments I've left on this video "knit picked" everything WIeber does. And I can say crossed legs are from the golden age. I didn't say they were good. Look up past gymnasts and you'll see that almost all of them crossed their legs. They are a deduction because we are living in a terrible CoP. Yes, they were neck and neck. "Wieber was a little shaky, and Komova was obvioulsy not at full strength" I've said that CONTINUED
@GymchampZW
@GymchampZW 13 лет назад
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 I have spoken to you before, and I do love Komova, in fact I want her to win in London. But it seems as if you are knit picking everything Wieber does. Wieber is an extremely talented gymnast. And honestly, you can't say crossed legs are good, or from the "golden age." They are a deduction for a reason, they take away fromt he artistry. And honestly in TQ, both gymnasts were neck and neck. Wieber was a little shaky, and Komova was obvioulsy not at full strength.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@s0revl01 @agators212 Viktoria landed an Amanar in podium training. And agators213, Mustafina did have bad form on her Amanar, but she had much more amplitude than Wieber. And her landings were much more controlled than Wieber's. Also, Komova doesn't have bad form on her Amanar. If you were a true fan of the sport, you would've watched videos of the golden age (1988-1996) and saw that most people had crossed ankles and slightly bent knees on their twists.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@s0revl01 That's funny of you to say. Komova isn't right now as good as Jordyn. She used to be better (going by scores here). And Komova downgraded more. Hardest beam dismount in the world right now? Yes, but Ohashi's been doing it too. I find it even funnier how you think Wieber's better than Mustafina. Wieber beat Musty when Mustafina wasn't at her best. If Jordyn beats Aliya's 61.032 internationally, then we can say Wieber's better.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@volleyballgurly15 Yes, Jordyn downgraded her Johnson 1/2 on beam and her Fabrichnova off bars. Other that that, nothing else. Don't forget that Komova still hasn't put her double layout on floor in, or her piked Tkachev, or her Amanar, or her split leap 1/1 on beam, or her ff+ff+Patterson off beam, or her ff+loso+Arabian on beam, or her ff+back full on beam. Yes, Wieber had a bad day, but this isn't exactly a battle. It would be if both had their entire difficulty and both hit.
@FoggyRoad81
@FoggyRoad81 13 лет назад
Here is the reality, for those of us who grew up and enjoyed gymanstics back in the day when true arists like Lilia, Shannon, Silivas, Laschenova and Lysenko graced the podium Komova is a breath of fresh air. The Russians are the only gymnasts left who understand the ART in Artistic Gymnastics. Yes they must hit to win, but their work is more beautiful than the Americans. Plain and simple.
@SanCarbo
@SanCarbo 13 лет назад
I love how everyone is comparing these girls- you can't compare weiber and komova bc they are totally different gymnasts. And when it comes down to it I will always root for and American over someone from somewhere else. At this point I don't see anything spectacular with Komova but I am going to keep an open mind and watch her gymnastics without being critical. Who r we to say who is going to win next year at the Olympics or even this week. So much can change in such a short amount of time. GO

She didn't qualify for the all around. :( Douglas and Raisman did. She had a very high score, but the US is so deep that Aly and Gabby edged her out and there's a 2 athlete per country rule. No Olympic AA title for Jordyn. You never know what's going to happen. Everyone assumed Shawn Johnson would win last time. You never know.
@GymchampZW
@GymchampZW 13 лет назад
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Yeah, the two athletes from each country is stupid:/ Komova and Grishina will most likely be in the AA finals next year, which is a shame because Mustafina and Dementyeva both deserve to compete. Then for the Americans, it will be rough. Wieber for sure; but Raisman, Bross, Ross, and possibly Shawn all deserve to compete as well.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@agators212 I do think Musty's vault was overscored in 2010 and at the Scamerican, but not as bad as you claim. She has much better technique (besides the legs) than most gymnasts on vault. Vault's more than height, distance, and form. Ugh, don't get me started on the 97 BB finals. Lilia's bars silver was because of the whole "she won the AA, let's overscore her in the EF" rule.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@s0revl01 Komova has better execution and her technique is much better. Technique. Wieber's early rotations on floor and vault. Wieber's cheated splits. Wieber's bulky swing on bars. Wieber's lack of height on vault. You saying Jordyn's floor is more enjoyable to watch is an opinion that I think most people would disagree with.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 13 лет назад
@GymchampZW Dementyeva won't fight because she didn't qualify for the AA final. Yao will get bronze. Hands down. Especially after her fantastic performance in the TF. Wieber was fine on bars in the TF but scored about the same in qualifications. It's her flow that's not connecting with the judges. And her late pirouettes and missed handstands that are connecting...
@agators212
@agators212 13 лет назад
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 komova has soft knees and crossed legs throughout the youth olympics. hers isn't nearly as bad and musty and especially nebieva. musty form is horrendous especially since her e-score was 9.0+ in EF. maroney stuck hers in TF last night and she got a 9.5+ E-score. you saying just becuse musty has height she deserved that blatant overscore?

@ShawnVikaKomova2012 From what I heard that one where she stepped backwards and off the mat was the only Amanar she managed to stand up. Honestly I think she's going to do the DTY during the AA and in the Team Finals, it depends on where the team is at the time (unless it's been so bad in training that there's no way she can do it...which I think is even more likely)

@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Weiber's bars got wrecked and Komova didn't compete her amanar (which may be a blessing in diguise considering the amount of recent injuries.) Yao and Dementyeva will definitely fight for a spot on the podium (as long as Dementyeva isn't a head case like in TQ)

@jennifercarolyn She'll definately do the DTY in the AA. As for the TF, I believe they start on vault so I doubt she'll do the Amanar. If they ended on vault, then she might've tried the Amanar. That also applies if Dementyeva's been having a bad day like she did in quals.

This routine is great. Will be interesting to see who gets the AA title. Wieber or Komova! They are both great. I slightly prefer Komova's style, but you've gotta say Wieber has awesome gymnastics too. That double-twisting doube back!! Wow. Bring on the AA on Thursday ! :)

I use to like gymnastics in the 90's, where the was no politics in the sport.... all the artistry in the game has gone down the toilette!!! now the best gymnast in the world looks like a duck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! soooooooo sad!!

@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Oh my bad. I think Wieber will win unless Komova throws an amanar (which I hope she does not, I'd rather her get a silver medal here and not risk an injury.) Btdubs, hows Grishina doing? I haven't seen much of her lately.

She is so heavy compared to the Chinese girls. When Sui Lu or Zeng Siqi do their routines you barely hear a thing. With Wieber a u hear is bam bam bam. I didn't even know the floors can shake this much until now

@volleyballgurly15 No, she's the reason Russia got silver. Without her, they possibly could've been off the podium. Without her beam fall and floor mistake, Russia still would've been silver. She did her job perfectly.

@gymnastagirl141009 Komova's not that great!?! Maybe right now, but last year, Komova was better than anyone in the world. She has the record for the highest AA score in the 2009 CoP. Wieber hasn't beaten it internationally.

@lisam1987 well komova shouldn't attempt the amanar because she hasn't landed it during podium training. plus her form on the amanar is bad. bent knees and crossed legs. not as bad a nebieva or musty but still bad form.
