I have tremendous respect for Soderman, but it was really refreshing to see HFR's usual tactic fail. "Let's just keep putting Kyle in until we win." No disrespect to the other HFR guys, but that's been a pretty consistent pattern. And who can blame them? Soderman is normally a nuclear option...reliable and decisive. But I truly love the team aspect of WCT, and his presence nullifies the team aspect. I wish he could be in a solo tournament like the backyard flight club. It would be fascinating to see him compete solo against Deveaux, Wang, Thompson, Bergeron, etc.
Its a bit of a vicious circle of course, since this is not a sport they can practice too well outside of the tournement itself. So HF keep putting Kyle in, causing him to gain experience and becoming better, while the other players get less experience and improve less. Omar is still a pretty good player but I feel like some of the other team members need more time on the quad before they can really get up to the level of the other teams, which they won't get if HF keeps sending in Kyle.
I don’t think sending Kyle in all the time is the problem. The problem is, sorry if this seems a bit harsh, that the other players simply aren’t good enough to compete against the best teams. Omar Zaki is pretty good and he’s been getting better and better, but that’s pretty much it. Of course they keep sending Kyle in, he’s the only one who has a chance of evading Ruji, Davis etc.
HF also have to realise that since Soderman had such an awesome performance evading previously, the opponents are going to do their homework and prepare for him
@@dominitrov I definitely feel like that was the case with apex eth in wct USA 2. They had several players that seemed to have trained specifically to be Kyle hunters.
OH MY GOD, Davis, he EVADED Kyle, he CHASED Kyle, he has become one of the biggest threats in the tournament. And this match shows how much HF relies on Kyle.
Tbh kyle moves looks way more sloppy rhan his usual self we know I guess he is not warm enough or maybe theres just too much expectation in his shoulder
@@pvtleaf Miguel unfortunately wasn’t able to make the trip to London to compete with us but he will be back at the World Chase TAG 6 USA competition next month 🙌🏻
@@j4genius961 yeah, showing that much frustration as the best player(and captain) on the team could be very Demoralizing to the rest of the squad. But it was probably the first match of the day for HF, so I don’t doubt they’ll bounce back in the next match
I think Kyle was trying too hard to evade after he was unable to chase Davis,,and that's why he wasn't able to get any evasion cuz we all know he has great speed but the reason he got so many chases before was more because of his strategy.... Great game by GNF although my favourite player Seth looks a little bit slower now..
Yeah, unfortunately since 2019 have had a number of ankle and knee injuries. This tournament is likely to be my last one but thank you for the support ❤️ feel free to follow me on Instagram (@sethjumps) if you still want to see what I'm up to
It is a little bit sad knowing that you will retire from WCT. You are one of my fav player in WCT. Your Partnership with David The Iceman is the best in this tournament. Your Indonesian Fan.
I mean he looked exactly like he did the last couple of years to me. Slower then WCT4 yes for sure. I’m pretty sure he’s had some bad injuries since then. He’s still an elite WCT athlete tho. Hope to see him back to his best version soon.
Man, Kyle really lost the mental battle in this one, now I need to see the other matches to figure out what got in his head. Also, great to see how much Dale has grown, but this was a tough match to watch. Envy did really well, but both teams seemed a bit rougher than normal and there was a lot of bad tension. Hope everyone is doing well
Oh everyone is all good 🙌🏻 Just the World Championships definitely created a lot of pressure and a lot of desire to perform our best and take home the W 😂
It's how it has always been. Hollywood has some solid athletes but it's still mostly Kyle doing the heavy lifting. And Davis for sure is incredibly strong in his own right but all the members that went today are among the best from the US tournaments. Jarrod and Sean were the best from Antidote and No Cap. Seth has always been an amazing chaser and Julius showed a really intelligent level of chasing to keep the high ground against Kyle. Very few people actually manage to track down Kyle.
Hot take: I would love it if Soderman joined GNF. Sure it would be kind of a snakey move. But GNF would become the only team that in my opinion has a chance of beating Apex Eth. Right now I don’t see anyone beating them and a superteam might be the only solution.
He definitely surprised me when he got Davis on the same tag twice. I was disappointed that he didn't seem to pay attention to his chaser against Sean Law, he really seemed like he had a chance but he just kept trying to run around the whole arena in circles then Sean cut him off at the corner when Omar could've backtracked.
@@AngryLink You’re totally right! I kept beating myself up after getting tagged by Sean 😆 Definitely learned my lesson and don’t plan on letting it happen again 🙌🏻👊🏻
GNF GNF GNF 🟦🟦🟦🟦 Ok but as a huge GNF fan it’s crazy to see how stacked their team is this year. Davis, Seth, Jarrod, and Sean is a crazy setup. They finally got soderman back for USA-4
Envy GNF did great this match. And taking Sean Law onto your team was definitely something I didn’t expect but absolutely loved! Sean Law is incredible!
Kyle Soderman is so salty in that first chase against his rival, Davis Vasconcellos. BTW, some of the of the members of ENVY GNF looked way different since the last time I saw them on RU-vid.
It's called passion. Of course he wanted to perform better because he can. Still, even the best athletes can be outplayed which is what makes WCT so exciting!
It may be beneficial to have some additional time at the end of the video with some replays of key moments or a brief moment or two with each team. My reason would be that it is easy to look at the time remaining in the video and see: “Team A is behind by 2 but team B still has a chance” *Looks at remaining time in video* “We’ll never mind, no chance of a comeback if there’s only 40s left in the video”
Davis got faster and he was already tricky, Kyle on the other hand always relied on speed and simple path and hasn't improved in strategy i think that's why he lost. But this time envy gnf has improved a lot.
From the start hollywood boys were not that great without kyle. The difference maker is knowing where to put the pieces aka strategy. Kyle will always be kyle. But for now he has too much to worry about to freely focus on evading or chasing. Kyle's simple paths are his chasers worst enemy
It is so sad seeing Hollywood Freerunners being knocked out of the first round even though Kyle has been carrying the team for so long, fair play to GNF for getting revenge for Hollywood knocking them out in the last 2 USA tournaments
Looks as if Davis got superpowers with his hair now :D Well played GNF! A decisive victory over -Soderman- Holywood Freerunners is not an easy feat yet they delivered!
Fr lmaoo Kyle has carried HFR to 2 finals appearances in the 2 USA tournaments they had so far. They need to get better players or else they’ll never win
@@kingbanzzz238 no doubt about it without better team it’s questionable will they even make USA WCT finals again let alone win it…but Kyle needs to get his head straight…in all honesty this wasn’t that good of performance by him, but he did set pretty high standard
@@OmarZaki well said! And not to take away how well y’all were doing. I’m looking forward to seeing how HF keeps improving and hopefully see Wes back on the quad as well.
Sad to see some players whose playing speed, like seth, kyle, jake, their bodies are getting heavier, and with new players in HF it seems difficult to move to the next round
02:45 it should be stressed repeatedly that a tag must be visibly clear to count. honestly, a light swipe on the shoe or clothing won't always be felt by the evader. with this, perhaps more investment in high res / high fps cameras. looking forward to the increased popularity of this sport! I could hardly believe I would soon have watched every video on this channel ! lolz ! no regrets though... this is an awesome sport! 05:29 lolz !!! that merry-go-round looked silly and fun at the same time.
love it as always but why does the voice for the e-vadr clothes sound like they not tryna wake up their parents in the next room xD Need some power behind those lines especially with the ad being between our expressive commentators
Surprised to see Kaden on the sidelines for Hollywood. He might be one of, if not the best, Ninja warriors already, but i never really saw him as a stand out when it comes to parkour.
Have you not seen his earlier chases!? Haha. That’s what he’s known for! Dude is a monster! Seth and Davis are the heart of GNF, they’ve been together since the beginning of their WCT career I believe. Since The Boys I think.
GET KYLE SODERMAN HELP!!! I am so tired of seeing who I believe to be the best in the world being dragged down by his teammates. I’m sorry but they are simply not on the level of these other top teams. I think if they don’t get some other SERIOUS athletes to surround Soderman for the next tournament he should leave and I would hate to see that, but his talent is wasted on this team. Great to see Luty getting better. I feel like Migliorato put on some weight and is moving much slower. It felt like the technique was still there but his body couldn’t keep up. Hope to see him back to his prime form.
Good stuff from GNF. You can tell they've bettered themselves. But also. You can't overlook Hollywood. You can tell Omar has gotten faster. Dale as well. Isn't a one man team anymore. They needed this L to find their stride.
Davis : Still a beast, found his way to get Kyle. Seem to show slight weakness/misjudgement in evading, especially in the tilted cube. Still MVP for the match. Would've liked him to either do better in juking/faking in the tilted cube area or avoid the playing around the tilted cube. Kyle: Still a scary athlete but didn't perform as well as last year. Shown holes here and there. Seth Ruji: Would've liked to see him more. Good performance in chasing, did not perform in that one evasion.
HF may have to work on strategy, obviously it’s easy to judge from the armchair but they were just chasing circles and relying on speed. Look at how Apex controls center of the quad and you see the difference.
Dale using shin pads to slide faster could open the door for athletes to look into equipment that can give them an edge, akin to how swimmers used to have expensive full bodysuits that ended up being banned. Maybe squash that before it happens?
I thought the slides were awesome. Even though Dale was only in one chase and he conceded an evasion, I thought it was the most exciting and dynamic play we've seen from him.
@@CubFlanagan I agree. But at the same time, it could tip others towards researching any kind of gear that can help give them and edge. And since the sport is still in its infancy, things can be shaped in order to avoid controversy and have the sport be pure skill/training, not who can afford the better gear.
@@FiveN9ne or allow everyone to use a standardised shin guard. Although you can't force athletes to wear them as they aren't vital for their safety specifically for this sport where you can break your neck in a second if you step wrong.
Okay, Hollywood free runners has turned into an American ninja warrior chase tag team 🤣🤣🤣 And I can totally get on board with it! I mean, you got Kyle Soderman, Caleb Bergstrom, and obviously the two time reigning champion Kaden Lebsack!
