The police need to use what limited powers they have. Since April they have the power to stop and search protesters and to do that obviously involves moving them off the road, maybe taking them away somewhere quiet in a van? As soon as they hold hands they are also committing an offence of "locking on" to another person.

The police can't do anything. Parliament has given then authority to do this protests. The illegal protest are stopped.

Her argument is she needed it to get around but totally support no oil. If she cycled, have a E car/bike, underground or walked I would understand. The fact is we should transition of oil but at pace where replacements are viable, economic, and popular. People sitting in the roads but wearing oil products are just hypocritical pains.

Well I can't speak for the whole country but earlier this week pretty much all of norfolks police force was harassing motorists on the outskirts of norwich.

They busy arresting people for teaching their dogs to do a seig heil online, or otherwise expressing free speech at home peacefully.

Perhaps it’s because the politicians don’t want them to act , they need to create a reactionary public to support further erosion of people’s rights and these fools are helping them . Why else would there be so few police in a major London road ? Groups like these always have one or two police in them as well as we’ve learnt from several disclosures and court cases where they’ve been sued . I can’t think of any other explanation

I wonder if all the drivers think anything of the amount of harm the daily traffic jams blocking roads cause if emergency services are delayed, or the harm the air pollution causes. If less people drove then the roads would be quieter and easier for emergency services to navigate 🤔
