In this weeks episode John continues with his epic outdoor kitchen build, and Tara and Crusoe get busy with flower arranging and finally gathering up our dried wild oregano to start using in the kitchen - yum yum! But - there's one of those very normal human things that made Tara feel a bit embarrassed about this episode, at the end of the day we always want to be real and relatable, and we're pretty sure lots of you can relate!

It's great to see Cruose directing John on how to do things and cross checking to make sure it's all done right One thing that could have been done is ( take a look at Proposition 65 ) in CA. I know that might sound like a California thing , but seriously, scroll down to ( wood cutting, sanding etc ). Another thing , common, it's time to build a set of sawhorses , set the tools at ~ 39"/42" above flooring , that's easier on you , while keeping Cruose clear of the switches , specially from those sharp rotating blades All the best

I absolutely love watching Crusoe playing and adventuring on the farm. No expensive toys or gadgets needed just nature and his imagination. Such a healthy and organic way to learn and develop while spending quality time with his mum and dad.

Crusoe may not remember the actual build, but he'll definitely remember the feeling of closeness and inclusion of being with Dad. So many children are missing those moments. Well done you for making sure that your children will have them! Tomatoes take much longer than I thought they would. But when they do...Holy Smokes!!! What a delightful video! Everything is green, growing or blooming. Crusoe is like a sponge, helping and learning all sorts of new things. Tara, my favorite part of this video is footage of the two of you flower arranging, is so special. Crusoe’s arrangement was perfect! Looking forward to seeing what the seating looks like when John is finished. I love the curved lines and how clever is he to buy wood with curves! 🌸

Not only in Greek salad we add the oregano. Make one day grilled meat or chicken and add only salt, pepper, oregano and fresh lemon juice nothing else. Also with these ingredients you can make the Greek souvlaki (gyros). Greetings from Greece.

John should actually be ashamed for wasting water on a lawn when the rest of southern Europe and Iberian Peninsula is suffering extreme heat and drought. Grass recovers very quickly when it receives rain. Keep the precious water for the crops.

@@tonys1636how does John beautiful lawn be so wrong and how does not watering with his water help places that have dry conditions. We had terrible fires very close to my acreage and town and had John stopped using water would not of done anything to help putting our fires out so far away.

Here’s an easy toddler tip to keep Crusoe busy. Give him a bucket of water and a paintbrush And ask him to paint. Could be the wall, bits of wood etc… far less messy than paint.❤

Dear Tara, your wild flowers are so beautiful and Crusoe so amazed about them ! The blue one is also in Germany and called Kornblume ! The queen of Prussia Luise loves this flower mostly. In the colors there is Preussisch blau and so on ! This flowers is in teas and she is in drogs ! Be happy and have good days.!

Hello Tara, John, Crusoe and Sawyer how are y’all doing? Well I’ve missed a lot over the weeks hopefully I’ll catch up soon. Y’all have done so much the farm is glorious, that lawn is so green and veggie garden has done well. The weather in 🇬🇧 is not great seems we’re having all the seasons in each month very disappointing. We were hoping to have a long heated summer after the long winter, however, it’s not good forecast for the coming month. The boys are lovely growing up fast, always a pleasure watching Crusoe helping. His bouquet of wild flowers is beautiful, quite a competition with mummy who also created a stunning bouquet. I am so very much enjoying seeing John progress with the outdoor kitchen. It’s coming together in such an intuitive and organic manner. John, you are incredibly skilled! I can’t help but cringe at Crusoe’s proximity to the power tools but I know you are right there keeping a super close eye. I think my anxiety says more about my power tool fear than any real danger to your beautiful boy. I do feel involving your boys in all you do is crucial to teaching them valuable life skills. I remember fondly helping my parents too, decorating, diy projects, around the kitchen etc and it’s stood me in good stead to be able to tackle projects around my own home. Beautiful flowers Tara, well done!

What fun to watch you all ! If you ever want to save time with dried or fresh herbs, you can pull the stems through the holes in a metal colander. All of the leaves will stay in the colander. Crack on ---- the seating is fantastic!

I could almost smell that oregano, how fantastic to have so much natural produce growing around you, and the flowers look lovely, personally I prefer a bunch of natural field flowers than something overly symmetrical and arranged :) Love the curved seating on the new deck area, you are so creative John, it's going to look amazing. The beginning footage was beautiful of the mist and mountains and the green grass. Curiouser and curiouser about the bench seating. My daughter spent a lot of time in her backpack while I was cleaning house, cooking , doing yard work, besides the normal walking about. Great way for them to be part but not underfoot. Not just sons and fathers, John. Daughters and fathers, too, or actually any combination of parents and children! That's how I acquired most of my crafting skills: By watching my dad while fooling around as a toddler and helping him as I was growing up. It's the natural way to learn, for the most part forgotten in our era of overestimated academic titles, of which I also have a couple on display on my walls. I can safely predict that Crusoe will grow up possessing skills he never even remembers how he learnt! Oh, by the way, it's "mia horiatiki" not "ena horiatiki".😁

Does anybody know “peep and the big wide world”? That flower 19:25 was the same shade of blue as Quack! Which is to say it was purple 😂😂😂😂😂😂 If you know you know!!! That show is soooooo good. One of my absolute favorite. I could not stop watching whenever I put it on for my kiddo.

The big white flowers are wild carrot. Smell their leaves. The black dot in the center of the flower shows you that you really have wild carrot and not a toxic twin. You can use their young leaves for salads.

As soon as the tomatoes start to turn you can pick them, and place them somewhere warm away from direct sunlight. They ripen with warmth rather than sunlight :) Then your plant can put more energy into the others :D

I love wild flowers, especially the mixed colour corn flowers that u have, I put some in pots this year, and they are beautiful . And I totally agree with you that they make amazing cut flowers. I have all different sizes of vases all over the house and outside on the patio. 😊 I also use unusual shape and colour empty alcohol bottles 😊 around the patio with flowers or candles in them. 😊. Can't wait to see the kitchen finished 😊

Dads and daughters too. My dad had me on jobsites including roofs as young as 2 years old and I remember it as some of the best times I ever had, and I learned a lot.

Oh I didn't even notice bless you lol, but I just wanted to say the blue flowers are Corn flower I'm sure you know, but as it dies away keep it and let it dry off a bit then the bit under looks almost like a Pineapple split that and keep the seeds, you will have loads to scatter next spring. and the big white one Queen Ann's lace is edible too look it up. Your boys will end up being Jake of all trades by the time they are teenagers, lol, Biggest hugs Dede xxxxx

Such a fantastic feeling when you can pick your own harvest. Love it!! Crusoe is a joy to watch, an inspiration & such a great flower arranger too. Who would have guessed? Can't see what Tara was worried about, I can't for the life of me see anything in her teeth, perhaps it's my poor eyesight but who cares anyway ;-)

When I see John building that outdoor kitchen without a plan or drawing, I can only imagine what the Treehouse for the boys is gonna look like. It will for sure be magical. Having a big amount of herbs and spices from your own garden is wonderful. See you wednesday, have a lovely week.

Love the flowers and fun crunching the herbs with Caruso. Your landscapes and shots are all wonderful. Lush lawn, wild flowers, views over hills, bright feathered chicks, smiling faces, lovely vases, variety of trees, rocks…… I know we would mostly see only your best moments, but you really are living my dream life. You are the most pleasant and good natured people andyou all deserve this, and your small corner of paradise. You are a delight to visit each week.

Crusoe your flower arrangement was beautiful and that you loved the oregano plant so much is so sweet. Tara yours is full of colour and there is no special way of putting flowers together, to me what makes you happy is the most simplest recipe of flower arranging. John your build is coming on very nicely and may I add that lawn that you stomped into the ground literally with your two feet, looks absolutely beautiful and green, very jealous.. I didn't see anything that Tara did that wasn't lovely!! You're both making such happy memories with the kids! Tara, you should try zinnias, they love the warmth and are so easy to grow and the more that you cut them, the more flowers that come! The cornflowers will do that too! I love your vase of flowers, those are the kind of arrangements that I like!

Tulle netting is great to put over the tomatoes to keep the sun beating down so hard and keeps the birds from pecking your fruit. It’s a good idea to have on the farm.

Your opening with mist rolling over the farm looks so refreshing. John's Mediterranean grass lawn is still green! No easy feat this being the summer of record heat( for some) Glad you're able to sit on patio & arrange flowers & crush Oregano. That's the way summers should be. Hopefully, the brutal heat breaks for others - soon! Looks like Sawyer is adapting to being on Tara's back & so cute as mother & son collect vegetables. And, Crusoe looks so proud of his arrangement - cute the way he ends up a bit over protective of his accomplishment!

Those blue flowers are Cornflowers and grow wild in the Murchison region of Western Australia when we have good winter rains.

As for you my dear Tara, I think you sell yourself a bit short with your flower arrangements. You're giving your home that hominess that so often lacks, nowadays. I find perfection overated, and your skills are spot on.

Lovely deck John and I love how patient you are with Crusoe. That oregano lookex yummy Tara!!! When Crusoe dug in the bowl with his hand I thought for sure he would throw it everywhere😁😁 Sawyer is such a happy baby and so cute. Both boys are precious💙💖😍
