Love it or hate it, it's another car that is nearly ready to be back on the road. Don't worry, the rattiest '57 will be back soon, but we needed to make room for a new project!

I am not a patina fan but anything that annoys "internet experts" gets my vote! At 71, clearly remember when tri-fives were low buck first cars for teenagers. Back then, you did the best you could to keep rust buckets on the road. Never suspected that the damn things would get judged like some European classic. You embody what real hot rodding is about! By the way, my second car got painted with a brush and a roller; two tone Rustoleum on a 1963 VW bus!

Dan and Dani, I'm a car guy and I feel there is no right or wrong way to do a build! No matter what you do there are going to be people who say it's wrong! Paint, no paint, moss, no moss, bare metal clear coated, or missing body putty it's all good in the world of hot rods and especially rat rods! Your plan was to build a ratty 57 and that's just what you're doing, I love it! Build your car for you buddy! Now if you was building a car for someone else that's the only way any one else's opinion would matter at all! I knew an old timer who is passed away now that used that same tear drop hood scoop on a 89 foxbody build. It was a beast of a car 347 stroker, 5 speed, SVO rear end, Strange 8.8 axles, aluminum drive shaft, Ford Racing everything, and it was painted the original dark blue with ghost flames another of our buddies done the body work and paint. It looked great and ran even better! Second time he drove it he pulled it out on the road and jumped in it and when he grabbed second the hood flew up and busted the windshield, put a nice dent in the roof, and cracked the body work around the scoop. So it was back to the buddies house for more body work, a new windshield, and back into the paint booth. Came out flawless again! Now the buddy that done the painting and bodywork is building a 39 Chevy Coupe, it's coming along nicely! They also have a 39 Pontiac Coupe, a 67 Firebird convertible, a 51 Ford pick-up, and are also doing a 68 396 SS Camaro body off restore and it's about ready for paint. They do a good bit of wreck late model rebuilds, have done a nice 55, and many other random builds over the years. Just keep doing what you're doing brother and know no matter how you get to the finish line you're doing it right enough!

Dani, I'm glad you are here to help Dan become as famous as you. In all seriousness, I love cars that can be driven without worry. I've gotten to the point that my favorite paint is grey primer. I've had shiny cars and wasted hours cleaning them. Just remember, primer is finer.

That is a fact, and yes, you have done beautiful pain. Jobs that 57 red convertible was beautiful. I'm beautiful. I tell you so I know that you're talented. And I know that you can do beautiful work. But you do awesome work no matter what you're working on. A rap mobile or a classic try 5. That is beautiful, you can do everything in anything you're very talented, man.

I completely agree with Dan. I like that he's keeping the car "honest". After spending countless hours in the garage on my Nova, I've reached the point where I'm going to finish the interior, re-paint the primer and whatever else it needs, drag race it and drive it on the weekends!

I stand by what I said in my comment that actually made it into the video, he saved this car from becoming a layer of rust in the dirt, whether he keeps it or someone takes it a drives it proudly later or brings it a step or two better, that’s great! My first car was a 1969 4-door Chevelle, I bought it before I had my drivers license from my neighbor. My biggest regret was owning it for 15 years and only ever putting 250 miles on it and having g to sell it. I was so worried about wrecking it or damaging it that I never drove it and enjoyed it.

What I like is you jump in and fix it or figure it out as you go no B.S you show the good and bad. You have alot of energy and work your ass off I'm getting ŕeady to be 63 in April and I worked in body shops all my life my brother told his 2 painter he said my lil brother talking about me stubs 120 hours a week after partying all night and both of yall can't stub 100 hours so don't be mad if he comes back and takes the #1 painter spot. I loved being on commission I made serious money In the 80s and 90s but I don't have that energy anymore try not to get old. It's alot harder to get motivated. Great video dan

You saved a car , if it wasn’t for you that thing was only good for a few parts. You showed what someone could do with a POS and actually make something drivable on the cheap. You did an excellent job and I believe you are inspiring to a lot of people who think they do attempt stuff because they’re afraid it would be good enough. You show them it’s what acceptable for them and you always make it safe to drive. I dig your vibe and there’s plenty of overpriced tri5 out there if your pockets are deep enough. Problem is if you dig into them they may not be as solid as you made this one. Keep it up I’m not even a Chevy guy but still dig your videos. 👍👍
