Nelson, this is absolutely wonderful, seeing you start the actual farming part of your journey on the farm. It's been a while coming, but your determination and hard work have paid off. The New Holland haybine seemed to work well and I can't wait to see what the baler does. Too bad you didn't get teeth on the rake/tedder yet, but you will. This is a milestone and I hope you are celebrating and I can't wait to see the baling taking place and what you do next. Contratulations my friend, and keep working toward that dream.
Mr Charlie that means so much sir!! You played a huge part in the behind the scenes help as well, and hopefully will continue as the hurdles present themselves!! Yes sir it has been a long time coming, but the Lord has guided me and hopefully things will continue to go well!! Can't complain one bit on the haybine, it did great!! Yes sir if the baler will perform half that well, I may be set!! I know, I was hesitant on doing this with the rake down, but figured if nothing else, I can bale it and if it's bad, just use it for erosion control!! Finally found the teeth for the rake, long story ( upcoming video) so hopefully I can get it fixed ASAP!! Might can get a cutting out of the front field this year to keep!! Amazing day for the family history, mom and I talked afterwards and most likely mid 70's since grandpa himself pulled hay form this land!! I often wonder too Nelson, what my grandpa and my Dad would think if they could see everything that I have done around here and am doing still. My grandfather was a self taught man. Taught himself carpentry, masonry, welding, and even engine and transmission rebuilds. My Dad was very particular with maintenance and it seems nothing could be too good. I think my wife feels that I am a chip off the old block.

Great video! I love the footage of the mowed fields and the scene with your commentary with the old home place in the background! Farming first, but if you get into the cattle business, you know your grandfather raised black angus cows for years! Daddy would sell off a few of the cows every year for profit! He always kept 10-15 cows to graze the fields! I remember when he closed out the herd, as he got up in years then selling all the cows! 😔

A thought on the trees you are taking down. Have you considered trying to get a sawmill to look at them. You might be able to get some lumber or posts out of it for the barns and coverings you need to fix or repair. I did that with my house and it saved us some funds. Just an idea.
Most of these are junk soft woods unfortunately. Boy I would love to mill some of these HUGE cedars milled up!! But they are so beautiful!! May consider some though!! Thank you sir!!!

Though I do not consider myself an authority on Hay There are quite a few channels that do.....Mower/ conditioners although they crimp the crop which speeds drying .... they create windrows.... grass on top of grass... the top dries but that underneath does not......which once baled will cause the bales to either spoil or worse case catch fire.... if you have no means of fluffing or turning you might try running it back thru the haybine.......one windrow at a time as cut.........This is not meant to lessen your joy..... I more than most want you to excell

I may give the haybob a try to just.move it around some, the teeth are worm drastically though. Good Job!! In the future, on the hay fields, DO NOT spray the hay fields with Grazon, it will ruin any manure you get ftom feeding your animals the hay. The grazon wont let vegetables make in the garden.

All I can say is get used to your setting on tongue and it offset remember slow at first speed will come later I wish you lots of luck I usely to run mine on second pin setting so it foesd feel like mower is running kitty
