Finally got the head fixed and out to the wheat field we go! Combining like it's the 1960's again, and loving every minute of it!! Ole "Glenda" stepped up and went right to work!! Not a minutes trouble after getting started, and yielded way better than expected! Now to bale some straw next!! Can't wait to get the ole gal in the corn this fall!!

@@Pennies_on_the_dollar we would have scratched our skin off for sure! 😳 It’s the only time I wear long sleeves, a neck scarf and long pants in the summer no matter the heat. It can be 90- 95F here during harvest. We have to stop a lot to blow the fan out at that point to keep from over heating. The 860 has air but not the truck. 🥵😝

You really couldn't ask for better results with the boards on the header.this was an awesome video congratulations my friend!!! Your corn looks good considering no rain. When it's pointing to the sky like that we call it praying for rain 😆 it's pretty normal for corn do deal with periods of drought it's root system is deep enough to find moisture to survive for alot longer than you'd think without rain. To me it looks like you'll have a good crop this fall. And the wheat looks to have yielded pretty darn good. If that's a 250 bu wagon you did right around 40 or 50 bpa???

Thank you Tim, it was an epic day for sure!! Couldn't ask for better results considering the tools I whipped together 🤣 I sute hope so, that corn had made me so happy ..but it's wilting away it seems so far 😳 I have my fingers crossed, the bottom land seems to be hanging on pretty good! It really surprised me on the bpa, yes sir you are almost right on the money! I couldn't believe it!! Thank you so much Tim for always being here, I really appreciate that!! Hope things are well my friend !! 😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻🌾🌾🌾

@@Pennies_on_the_dollar number one rule of being a happy farmer is not stressing the drug we can't control. There's enough other things to stress over than that lol like our old equipment. It's alot easier said than done though I know 🤦‍♂️. But that being said you were stressing about your wheat this last winter and this spring too and look how good that turned out 😆. I've heard of people getting 70 to 90 bpa but I've never seen it. Done some custom that was 25 at best and full of weeds yours looked enjoyable to pick even 😄 every thing is going good here we've been fortunate with rain but that did cause a cultivation issue. Some how we've kept up to the weeds pretty good so far.

@@TimothyFluegel Tim some very very valuable and wise Information!! You are truly amazing, and I do appreciate the calm collective approach. Because you are ABSOLUTELY correct on things we can't control!! Well thank you sir, it and been a blessing for sure!! I was thinking tht bpa was pretty nice compared to what I have heard before. And man was I in heaven!! Thank you again, and hopefully you can and are keeping up with cultivation as well as possible! Mine got away from me, but it's not near as bad as if we had gotten lots of rain. Those 38" rows are tuff to keep clean🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you again my friend!

Very cool! Now you get a cover crop out there that can build that soil up and produce some nitrogen for next year's corn
@Pennies_on_the_dollar
@Pennies_on_the_dollar 13 дней назад
I have been debating about some of that, not computer sure yet but may run one more year of wheat before putting it into the rotation. So many irons in the fire 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Thank you very much Mr Jon for great advice and always being y, I really appreciate that!! 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🌾🌾🌽🌽🌱🌱

If going to a small grain is an option next year then I would not put winter Rye in the mix unless you make winter Rye your small grain next year. They have some hybrid winter rise that make tremendous yield Otherwise we don't want things in the cover crop that can contaminate the cash crop

You never leave your combined at the Headland of a wheat field so when everybody sees the dark green strips they don't know what combine did it. LOL Old Farm joke Pulled into a farmyard that had three brand new John Deere's and the wheat that was growing under that window of straw made most lawns blush. I think it was a better stand after the combine then before the combine

I thought SERIOUSLY about double crop beans, but I think my plate is full, still need to get the corn head adapted to Glenda, well the drive anyway 🤦🏻‍♂️ I think I am going to make one more wheat crop here this fall before putting it into regular rotation.
