@@sarafontanini7051 definetly from pre timeskip or single punch fights, but I do think there are a few other ones that are in for the running with this one
Episode 151 is amazing. Not only do we get one of the most satisfying punches in the series, but also an info dump of epic proportions. Edit: Your reaction to the Blackbeard reveal didn't disappoint. I think the reason his beard is only stubble right now, besides the obvious misdirection, is to convey that he is just getting started making a name for himself.
I came here to comment almost the same thing, but you already did ;). Chapter 151 is a masterclass in how to open the world and lore for your universe to the audience. And in only 10 minutes!!
Blackbeard is no joke. In earlier episode, They said Blackbeard pirates invaded The Drum Kingdom. Wapol abandoned his kingdom and fled in fear. The Drum kingdom got destroyed quickly after that.
Luffy doesn't care if people mock their dreams or if they punch him for his dream, but when someone gets in the way of someone's dreams, THAT is when Luffy gets pissed.
In Japanese, hige means "facial hair". It can mean beard, sideburns, moustache, etc. So when Oda created Shirohige (whitebeard) and Kurohige (blackbeard) they had a form of white and black facial hair. 🙂 Who knows what the future of shiro and kuro hige will be. 🤔 (There is no Japanese word for specific facial hair parts, only hige.)
That punch on Bellamy even up to the newest episodes is still one of the top 3 best punches in the whole series. I love that moment. No devil fruit power, just Luffy absolutely destroying him.
Episode 151 literally introduced us to probably the greatest group of characters in One Piece. Every single big character that was introduced in this episode play a humongous role in the story
I appreciate how punctual you girls are. I sit down around this time and wait for the reaction to drop. I am always so excited since this is my first time actually rewatching the whole show and I am loving the experience 😁
This is my 4 time watching it all the way but I still get so much more discovers expecifically because they notice things that never have noticed before.
I mean they take notes, most just react for the sake of it. Them? They enjoy the story as its progress and its gonna pay off because of the little details.
Bro, when I started watching I remember all of the sword names because I thought Tashigi will be a more important character than she actually ended up becoming. It helps that Wado Ichimonji and Sandai Kitetsu rolls right of the tongue in my language.
Revealing new & powerfully influential characters and setting the stage for the upcoming events. New Warlords, Doflamingo & Kuma The 5 Elders Sengoku Whitebeard, Shanks, Teach, Ace And to think this isn’t even the main focus of this arc! But it’s sowing the seeds for the upcoming storm.
@@mr.person1219 no, the storm that’s taking place while our band of misfits are off on their own merry adventures completely unaware of the world shaking events taking place
151 was when One Piece official became my favorite anime. Not only do we get that epic punch, but also the goat Blackbeard, Whiteboard, Warlords, and the 5 elders are revealed. It was pure 🔥 🔥🔥
The episodes that are like 151 are the best episodes of one piece. Those episodes that you see the big players and u get all the info. 151 episode is basically an episode that if you reach it, you basically never give up on one piece.. it creates so many questions in a good way, so many information... and it gives you the feeling that luffy is such a small fry , the world is so big....i don't know.. 151 is probably one of my fav episodes.
It's one of tge most important episodes in One piece, it changes everything, it's moves One piece one level up to the greatest stories every told, Oda didn't fear to escalate his show
As for the how strong is Blackbeard u were wondering... remember in chopper'a hometown what dalton said?? "5 people destroyed an entire country and the captain called himself Blackbeard"
“That pie man looks so nice and friendly, I hope we meet him again” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 More Warlords, more Marine command, Whitebeard and Shanks Welcome to One Piece world building.
The lore dump/world building in this episode is amazing. It was one of the first times I realized that there is a ton of things happening behind the scenes while our characters are doing pirate things.
this is one of the best parts of One Piece. Its world is so freaking huge and things are always happening, regardless if we as the audience see it or not. Oda knows how to raise the stakes like no other author. Every time he reveals something new about this world it feels so epic and weighty.
He, and his crew, still have the best introduction so far in the series. The little scenes of the apparently skilled psychos around town who all seem to have something about destiny to say, the goofy scene and then speech about dreams showing us Teach and Luffy are opposite sides of the same coin. And then we find out they are a crew, their captain is the one Ace is hunting who also attacked Drum Island, they're trying to take Crocodiles vacant warlord seat, and leaving off with what is clearly them gearing up to go after Luffy for something now that they've learned the price on his head.
I love these kind of episodes of world building in OP, it is why the story is so good. The fact that all the OP world moves indipendently from the actions of Luffy and his crew, it's a realistic world.
Teach has one of the best introductions as a villain of all time. Remember when he first met Luffy. Remember how similar yet different they were and how Zoro and Luffy reacted to him even when he was seemingly friendly. It still gives me chills after all those years.
Can't believe Oda just introduce two best well written character, Doflamingo & Kuma, with weird walking side by side Plus the Five Elders, can't wait for their action...
@@yoobeepedmeinthebeep I think the 2 characters go hand in hand showing the difference in characteristics despite going through the same struggles but corazon had sengoku as a father figure to help guide him whereas doffy was hell bent on power despite also having a close relation with his so called family
I didn't remember Luffy taking that fall in the fight with Bellamy, and I went back to confirm that it didn't happen in the manga, that was just anime padding. And what a great reaction. It's so much fun seeing y'all realize who Cherry Pie Guy really is.
@yukimura4574 Roronoa Zoro's name come from the french pirate Francois I'Olonais. Yeah it doesn't look like it, but you get it if you pronounce that name correctly.
An interesting lil' bit of trivia: The Japanese word for beard doesn't translate the same from English. The same word can be used to refer to beard, mustache, and I believe sideburns (don't quote me on that last one). Basically, the word is the same as the English "Facial hair."
I love the episodes that expand the world building! Let's remember that Luffy and the crew aren't the only ones making big waves in the sea and I'm glad we got to see some of the other big players here.
This is one of my favorite episodes in early One Piece! I love how the world suddenly expands with a bunch of new characters, factions and reveals - something that you'll come to look forward to after every major arc or event, because it just keeps happening and every time it feels even better and more epic than the previous one.
It's so cute and also smart when the 2 of you take notes every time the story give you new big information so in the future don't loose the connection between every event that exist and happens in the world of One Piece ☺️
you guys really are the only reactors i'd watch the whole video for. both reactions and discussions. 151 is amazing, i remember having the exact same face you guys did!
Y’all genuinely have the best reactions to One Piece! Always interested and wanting to watch more out of desire, not of wanting to put something out for the audience. Thank you for enjoying this show for y’all selves; it’s what makes this so much fun to watch as the audience :)
I was looking forward to this episode for a while, especially with how keen you two are with details! Didn’t disappoint. So many important faces in this episode. It’s actually insane.
This episode is the one that does not waste anytime at all! After i watched i realized how great the pacing was, as it moved from one great scene to another and before I knew it.. the episode was over! First half was amazing! Luffy vs Bellamy was nothing like i imagined, but still so satisfying to watch! This was Luffy at his best! He can be so intimedating if he wants to, sending chills down your spine! Second half was equally great in its own way, showing us the top of the ones in charge, introducing us to a lot of new characters that will play major roles later on! In the end we learn the identity of the guy Luffy met some episodes ago, who says that "dreams never die". Yeah that was a great twist!
Just remember that the warlords bounty is frozen. It is theyre bounty before being elected as a warlord so the gap is way much bigger than those numbers.
You know what’s funny is that I never take Blackbeard seriously when I see him appear in the story and only when he does his thing I go ‘oh, snap, that’s right, this guy is a monster!’ Must be the design or something
we still waiting to see what Luffy and zoro meant by "They". It's funny how none of them never commented on that ever again. Also.. blackbeard gave a wonderfull speech to luffy, and luffy wasn't phased by it. Luffy is an excellent judge of character.
Regarding the fact that Whitebeard and Blackbeard don’t have beards. The name “Blackbeard”, the one that makes reference to the real life pirate, was translated in Japanese as “Black facial hair.” So when Oda introduced Blackbeard and Whitebeard to One Piece he just gave them facial hair of their respective color, because that’s what their name says in Japanese.
I can't wait to make this journey once again with you two. I know you guys probably won't read this comment, but I have been watching last 100 episodes with you guys. Now that I caught up, I want more episodes, and they are releasing once a week. I can't wait so I will make this journey again and until you two catch up I will not watch a single episode! Counting on you!
黒髭or kurohige does translate as black beard but here in Japan, Hige is basically any facial hair like a mustache or beard or even a stubble or 5 o’clock shadow.
20:14 im laughing at the "that was so much" from big sis instantly cutting to her with her glasses perched on her head after obviously taking a bunch of notes sdjfkdshfksh I love your reactions so much
I will never get over the fact that Oda wrote "Teach" killing "Thatch" as a nod to the real life Blackbeard, and how modern historians still do not know if his real name was Edward 'Teach' or Edward 'Thatch", I guess we know which one Oda thought it was lol.
Person on the left side (Kiss) is the reason I watch One Piece third time. One Piece was the reason I watched One Piece first 2 times. (Haylo is also good). Thank you.
The storyline where Bellamy suspects Luffy and the others' bounties is cleverly designed. It indeed raises the possibility of fake bounty posters as Bellamy suggests, because high bounties are usually associated with remarkable deeds. However, there's another scenario: the wanted criminal has defeated a very powerful enemy, and the government is trying to cover up this news. Luffy just earned his 100 million bounty by defeating Crocodile, but Oda immediately shows us that Rockstar, a newcomer in the Red-Haired Pirates, already has a 94 million bounty, and Whitebeard doesn’t care at all, indirectly highlighting the strength of both.
It's nice to rewatch this like this. I forgot how important some of these early episodes are. We got SO much information in this episode in a way that didn't feel forced, Oda has always been a master of natural exposition.
yeah that episode and chapter you just watched is probably one of the most lore heavy in the series. We learn so much about the world from this, and the implications of what Luffy has done, and some of the bigger players lurking about. Like this Ep introduces us to a lot of really important characters and concepts. seriously its a masterclass on quick seamless warbuilding, foreshadowing, hype building, and its legendary in the fandom as one of the most consequential/satisfying episodes of all time.
Such a simple but genius idea from oda to present luffy and teach as complete polar opposites with their taste in food, on the first watch it doesn't seem big but when looking back you get the idea and its just so subtle and clever
So 151 is the 'inbetween arcs' episode. They do this in every arc and let you know world stuff happening in response of what happened in the arc. It's my favorite part of one piece. Always be ready for the final episodes after the arc. You will always get a lot of lore dumps.
What's funny is Newton's third law comes into play. At least I think it's that one. When you're going extreme fast and then hit something so solid it instantly brings you from 100mph to 0 that does EVEN MORE damage to you.
It's why a simple looking accident for Dale Earnhardt was actually one of the most deadly accidents you can get into. 180mph to almost zero hitting the wall. It's not the speed that kills you, it's the sudden deceleration.
Well it's second law... Change in momentum with respect to time is what is called as force... It's been famous with a intresting deep line... When you get hit to a wall... Its not your speed that hurts you.. it's the result of getting stopped
So to clear up some confusion on the "beard" thing for Whitebeard and Blackbeard... in Japanese their names are Shirohige and Kurohige (shiro meaning white and kuro meaning black). Hige means facial hair (there's no distinction between mustache, beard, or any other form of facial hair with this word).
You girls are so so sharp, I almost yelled at a theory you had that clicked something for me and I’ve been following this series for many years. Anyway, keep up with the wild theories, it’s been such a joy to relive all of this with you both. 💕
Girls, you don't hv any idea who this whitebeard man is...the ultimate legend... you'll be shocked to know about his history and his fighting abilities...
There isn't a specific word for beard in Japan, it just refers to facial hair in general. He could have a mustache, mutton chops or a goatee, it would still be Shirohige (Whitebeard).
My one qualm with he live action is that they spoiled luffy's grandfather too early in the series... It was such a huge reveal when it happens in the anime/manga. Also, I completely forgot how much of an insane episode 151 is in reference to world lore and introducing characters (first watched it 19 years ago)
Words can’t describe how much I look forward to these. It’s genuinely impressive how attentive yall are and actually take in all the details. That, and: you guys convey the emotions brought on by the show’s storytelling perfectly to the point where I feel like I’m watching it for the first time again at times. Far and away, the best OP reaction channel I’ve ever seen
Y’all’s interest in the story is clear, convincing and unequivocal. Wado Ichimonji was named and identified immediately. That makes watching y’all so satisfying. Thanks for a great reaction!
