We hope so. This mill has been great and has done all we asked of it, but time to change.

We have no complaints with the Norwood sawmill because it has done a really great great job. We’re also excited about the new one and looking forward to getting it put together and operational.

We think it’s going to be a great addition to our place

The cost is way too expensive for the hydraulic equipment for us to be able to pay for since I’m retired. I load the logs with the tractor so that’s not a problem. Only turning the logs is a problem, but I’m thinking about using a winch for that.

We decided against the diesel engine because it was 5k extra. So we have a 25 hp Koehler that is standard on it

And, hopefully it will be as good as the Briggs was on the Norwood

@@OutpostReview Richard do some research on the 25Hp Kohler engine, in the lawncare forums they complain about the blowing head gaskets and they are short life engines. This is for the vertical and horizontal shaft, and they talk about how they are oil burners that foul the plugs. In one forum they talked about Kohler says it is a 2000 hour engine, and 3000 if it is well maintained, but the reality was according to several people they did not even get 1000 hours. They also all complained the engine being under powered for a 25 hp engine. Kohler in 2020 got slapped with a 20 million dollar fine for violating the Clean air act , in a settlement in California with the EPA. On the 24HP Yanmar Diesel that Wood Mizer uses it is a solid 4000 to 5000 hour engine for the air cooled . In one lawn care forum they recommended replacing the 25 hp Kohler with the 24HP Yanmar Diesel on the horizontal shaft engines. Every Kohler engine I ever had I had nothing but problems. The old Kohler was good, but since 2007 Kohler has partnered with YinXiang, and the Kohler-YinXiang Ltd in China and they have assembly plants in Wisconsin, Mississippi, and Mexico. Assembling Chinese made parts. I found this out on 3 lawn care forums, their comment was the engines are Chinese made under an american name. This was the reason I said go with the 24 HP diesel engine, as Yanmar does have a very solid engine.

@@OutpostReview I will take a Briggs and Stratton over a Kohler any day. The Service shop where I had my lawn mower and Tiller serviced refused to work on Kohler engines made after 2007. The reason parts was hard to get.
