I wrote walz off and was like "vp is inconsiquencial" but then i started hearing his story and his speechs. This dude should be president, best thing Kamala has done so far os pick him.
Literally didn't think there was a vp who would make a difference. Thought they would all be the same shade of Democrat we're used to. I did not expect to genuinely feel more happy and hopeful over a vp pick.
Tim Walz is a very kind and wholesome guy. Him and my dad were coworkers and friends, and he spoke at my dad's funeral last year. I've met him several times, and only have positive things to say.
That's really awesome, I've heard nothing but kind stories about the guy. Rip your dad, but I'm sure he would have been happy his friend spoke at his funeral
As a trans person who's utterly terrified of Project 2025, it's really nice to see the dems actually trying to win, now. It's nice to have some hope that Project 2025 won't happen. Please, please vote for Kamala/Walz.
@@jackjohnson1128 Exactly, this happened in 2016, we thought we were ahead, and then the GOP wiped the slate, and the media did not realize how to handle dealing with someone like Trump. Even now they're making that mistake, as Lawrence O'Donnell so evenly put on display. Even though we have a movement now reminiscent of 2008, we're now dealing with a cult. Look at Obama - Romney debates. So much more respectful than what we have now. So the focus then becomes sowing dissent where we can inside the cult, saving who we can save, but most importantly *GETTING PEOPLE REGISTERED TO VOTE! And getting people to CHECK THEIR STATUS to make sure the GOP hasn't DEREGISTERED them.* *We all have a job to make sure the people that don't care do turn up.* The young voters are the last line of defense for us. We NEED to make young people turn up to the polls and go through the whole ballot to keep these criminals not just out of the White House, but of the states, House and Senate.
It’s great because people are not responsive to rhetoric, they will respond to you just being cool and open. The easiest way I have made people accept socialism is by just showing them that they already do. You can say that it’s just platitudes all you want but there’s a reason why you have to be told how to ignore them. It’s because they are the most effective way to convince people.
After the sheer horror these last few months had been, this is legitimately a breath of fresh air. Feeling hope for the first time in so long. But let's not get complacent. Get out there and vote blue.
@Uhnonimaussounds like you're post duopoly. Welcome. You are correct in your assessment. This is a show to give people the illusion that they have a choice. We dont. Not as long as we support this with our votes and money and minds. Always vote 3rd or inde. No exceptions for fear mongering, no lesser of two evils. Dont condone their crimes with your consent. Harm reduction is a myth. We're currently slaughtering 10s of thousands of children for a foreign govt under Biden/Harris. Ffs, she was CHOSEN for voters, they didnt pick her. This isnt democracy, it's oligarchy. There simply isn't a democracy to save, only the illusion that you have one.
Also donate and canvass or whatever if you can. Never thought I'd advocate for that for democrats, but they certainly are making this godless cynical leftist a little hopeful that the future isn't going to be a nightmare.
@Uhnonimaus Listen to Walz talk to union organizers and review what he has accomplished as governor then get back to me about how corporate he seems. Kamala sure, but people can change.
As a proud Minnesotan, I am extremely excited to see our great governor finally being shared with the rest of the country. I am so much more hopeful for the future than I was two months ago.
Watching the rally in Arizona and I'm so inspired. Mesa AZ Mayor John Guiles, a REPUBLICAN spoke to the crowd, who did NOT boo him. He said the exact truth. If you are a Republican and you're disillusioned with your party giving you a morally, ethically bankrupted minion to vote for a third time, then you don't owe them a damn thing. It is so wonderful to see both parties actually coming together. I don't think DT has any strategic answer for what's happening.
I was so full of fear an anxiety. This makes me feel better. She needs body armor and all the security. Edit i cried when they said they were going to have universal free breakfast an lunch. I had to deal with having no money for lunch lots. It means a lot to have politicians talking about doing something!
@@RecMikeWalz actually does have a background of getting stuff done, I've been cheering on my northern neighbors from down here in Iowa for years, they've been wild. I don't imagine Harris would last long around him acting like a bump on a log.
@@JP_Names being governor of a state is quite different from being VP, which is mostly a do nothing job waiting for someone else to die. They have little to no influence and he supports Israel, so he will be just as complicit as Harris has been during this slaughter. Voting for either party legitimizes this failed state and its oligarchs. And some VP pick isnt clouding my dedication to bettering working people everywhere. I wont support genocide, idc who's it is, red or blue.
@@jayhollows5729or...you dont understand American politics like you think you do. Smoke and mirrors, double speak, lying--these are the hallmarks. Mark this so we can revisit in a couple years and compare notes. One thing is certain, regardless of which monster wins, working class people lose. The VP literally is a do nothing position where you're waiting for someone else to die. This is the duping of the base to camouflage Harris' support for genocide.
In 2016, I thought both candidates were shit, so I didn't vote. I will admit and own up to that. 2020, I voted for the first time, not because I was energized by the campaign, but because America could not survive 4 more years of Trump. This year? I am actually excited to make my voice heard. I can't wait to see an exceptional candidate and VP (not knocking what Biden has gotten done) take the White House. I move to PA in 2 weeks. First thing I'm doing is changing my voter registration to be eligible.
@@AlexSilver9 How did you manage to get WORSE over the past 8 years? I voted for Clinton in 2016 because my baseline was you obviously shouldn't support the billionaire. I supported Bernie in the primaries but ultimately voted Joe Biden because we should vote blue no matter who to save democracy. And after witnessing Genocide Joe do everything they warned us Trump would do and in addition enabling a genocide, I told myself never again. We need to strive for better.
@@AlexSilver9eggs are $6 a dozen and we had an 18% increase in homelessness last year while many corporations posted another record profit year. East Palestine, OH still hasn't been addressed and Biden, with the help of Bernie and AOC, thwarted a worker strike in favor of the same owners. And we're arming and funding a genocide and a war of attrition. That's worse by any standard.
@@RecMike So Christian conservative fascism is clearly the better option? Grow the fuck up dude. You're expecting something that won't happen and want to inhibit progress.
I finished college, twice. Became a teacher with a Master's degree...and 50k in debt. Universal free college was available in Barbados when I went there - you just needed good grades. But back home, the richest country in the world, the cashiers at the Bursar's office wanted that paper before you could even step in the door.
I really want to go to grad school, but I won't do it in the US. I escaped undergrad without debt, but tuition has only gotten more expensive since I left.
@tsharabrown3719 yes, this is the reality right now. But there's a movement, a paradigm shift, occurring. Wait, and watch. Seize your moment when it comes.
40:55 - No, Jake, that's not a confused marine, "hooah" is an army thing. People always associate it with the marines, for some reason, but it's always been an army thing. The marine thing is "semper fi."
Feel that? That's what hope feels like. It's so refreshing. For once I feel optimistic about this country's future. There's still work to be done (VOTE), but there's light at the end of the tunnel. Finally.
@@bluesolace9459 Mark this comment for November, then take your own advice. You cant even use words in correct contexts, I should know better than to think you're smart enough to see through duopoly bullshit.

This has inspired me completely. I've gotten into crochet and I really want to make coconuts and sell them on Etsy to help the campaign in any way I can.
The trump campaign needs to definitely fire JD Cushion Pusher and let don Jr be his dad's VP's choice so they can drag whatever is left of the GOP off of a drug fueled cliff.
Walz is way more charismatic and a better Trojan horse for socialist values than Bernie was. Bernie’s frown vs Tim’s sweet smile. Bernie’s thick Brooklyn accent vs Tis broad midwestern cadence.
I really hope this doesn't suck out all the enthusiasm for the 2028 general strike! I really hope all the "leftists" don't "go back to brunch" after the election!
Seeing you go back and forth with this talon guy reminds me of myself circa 2011. I was a simp for Ron Paul and for unfettered free markets. I almost lost myself down the ancap blackhole too. So glad to be out of that. Harris Walz 2024
Personally I would have preferred Beshear but Walz just seems to be a smarter choice the more and more you learn about him. Democrats are wholeheartedly embracing the, "Those fuckers are WEIRD," narrative and Tim Walz as the dude who just seems like America's Nice Dad is probably the smartest possible choice they could have made Also his position as a CSM is super important. CSMs have a basically mythical reputation in the Army - you get the outliers who love to yell "GET OFF MY GRASS" but by and large they are regarded as the people who actually get shit done for the real grunts.
There have been a few times that political parties have simply died, faded out of existence, in American politics. I want this moment to be the moment when historians point to and say "This is the point when the Republican Party died. They went too far right, too far openly Nazi and embraced Trump, but then Trump's maga movement died and the Party couldn't find another candidate to generate as much enthusiasm as Trump."
@@armando5846 Yes, because Ronald Reagan would have supported gay people, trans people, abortion, universal healthcare, unions, free college, and made school breakfasts and lunches free. I remember the 80s, that time period when Reagan made healthcare a human right. That was quite the time. We're living with the benefits of that now.
@@jackskellingtonsorasomeone thinks politicians trying to get your vote always tell you the truth instead of just what you want to hear, and as we know they ALWAYS follow through when they have the power. That's why obama codified Roe like he promised, and student debt is a thing of the past and we have universal healthcare. Dont let their words fool you. They dont care about you. And as Joe told his donors "nothing will fundamentally change" as long as we keep voting for these guys.
Harris and Walz have legit great chemistry. And yes, I think that's important - both to make them appealing to vote for, but also for them to work together if they get elected. In contract, I really never felt that Biden was on the same team as Harris. And Trump never gelled with Pence, nor does he seem to particularly like Vance.
Competition drives innovation not capitalism and because we don't enforce anti-trust laws we have monopolies running a muck we live in an oligarchy because of it.
Seeing Tim geinuenly be emotional and act like a real human being is so refreshing. And combined with the policy stuff he's pushed for I'm tentatively libbing for the rest of the election. Got some hope for the first time in a while.
two things walz is so fucking cool, and harris is REALLY good at glazing him up. super refreshing to hear a presidential candidate talking someone up other than themselves.

When I don't talk about being a Christian it's because people think of JD Vance and not Tim Walz when we talk about it. Tim Walz is the kind of Christian I aspire to be.
Daaaaaang. Walz shoulda brought an umbrella - mah man was throwing shade. Is there enough lidocaine in the world to ease the sting of the burns he brought to the stage?
I wondered if this was going to get you on board. I am very excited too. It's nice to be able to vote for something rather than against someone for the first time in a long time. @@jayhollows5729 unless harris dies in office, his record as governor will amount to a pile of beans. VP is a do nothing position. He still supports war and genocide, just like biden and harris, so fk him and the Democrats.
They need to continue to subtly use his honorific titles like coach. I'm a Midwestern white guy who played sports. Any man that I still call coach as an adult is a man I hold in high regard. Keep using these titles that are earned, and they will pull some of the bro crowd
It feels bigger now because of what we’re up against! We didn’t have the MAGAts or democracy at risk. It was history for history’s sake. This is history for all of our sakes!
it took her a while, but Kamala finally found her "charisma" I remember when everyone was all like oh she's horrible get her out of the screen keep her in the back etc The dems finally got what they wanted, a big baddie to fight against and a token to speak for them, vote blue until the red option is out of here
Making Command Sergeant Major is a big deal in the Army. It means his service record was beyond exemplary. My own late uncle Stan made that very rank with the 82nd Airborne and served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam (he only took early retirement because they were going to send him back to Vietnam) The man gets my vote out of respect for my late uncle alone.
I just wanted to say sometime after your Supreme Court videos - your videos stopped being recommended to me. I have to actively search for your videos to get them to show up for me even though I have your notifications to all. It's just been really weird.
Watched the rally video live. I feel the same way as Jake; I haven't been this amped about politics since my college days watching Obama speak in the final run up to 2008

So let me rephrase: she fought tooth and nail and subverted the justice system to keep nonviolent people illegally detained (as the conditions, where there were "avoidable deaths and injuries" every 5 days, were ruled to violate the 8th Amendment rights of the prisoners) for the express purpose of low cost labor for CA corporations and the fire crews, AND withheld exonerating evidence for a man on death row. This campaign actually has hope and joy. You see it in Harris and Walz, in their spouses. In the people they're around. As much as I appreciated Biden, and I was going to vote for him, it felt very forced. This feels genuine. And its so different from the anger and vindictive feeling trump rallies give off.
