Hey guys! We will be re-posting the unedited Hamilton reaction to our Patreon On December 6, 2020 when we relaunch our Patreon. It will be available to all tiers and will finally have a timer so you can sync your copy on Disney+. We really appreciate all the support we have gotten. Thanks so much!
Fun fact the girl who gets her neck snapped becomes the ‘bullet of Hamilton’ and is basically an ill omen of death and suffering for the rest of the play
Yea, her name was something like “Monè of the afterlife” and is based of a man that smuggled information until he got his neck broke after getting shot.
She’s also Sally being a lamb lmao BUT BUT BUT other characters she plays like when she talks to Phillip Hamilton she’s the one that pretty much leads him to his death she gives him directions to where George was thus initiating the duel
I watched with my cousin who had heard the song once out of context before the play and didn't know... That is pretty much exactly what she thought it was supposed to be.
leslie (the man who plays burr) said that when the light focused on hamilton during dear theodosia, he was praying for his daughter that wasn’t born yet, and I think that’s really sweet
Reactionando another fun fact is while Hamilton’s son was killed in a duel.... Burrs daughter was lost at sea and presumed to be killed by pirates... so they both were “blown away”... also Hamilton had 8 kids... Eliza raised them herself and lived til she was 97, which was like extraordinary for that period in history.
Loved your video. Now, I'ma blow your mind a little bit at 17:45 - "didn't she get her neck snapped?" Yes she did. She's the first character (besides Hamilton's mother and cousin in the opening number) to die in the show. From then on, she becomes the harbinger of death, representing the "bullet" anytime a gunshot is significant.
We are so glad you enjoyed the reaction! This truly is a great musical like you said and being able to enjoy it with other people (thanks to the internet) is just amazing. Thanks again for watching!
why am i loving people reacting or watching hamilton for the first time ? Hahaha maybe bec im like waiting for their reactions to a specific drama or what and go like “ yup. “ “ well, wait for the next scene “ “ I KNOW RIGHT ?! “ and like BE PROUD THAT ANOTHER PERSON IS SEEING THE BRILLIANCE OF HAMILTON THAT IVE BEEN OBSESSING EVERY DAY FOR YEAAAARS HAHAHA
17:46 After getting her kneck snapped, she becomes a symbol of death. Here, she's the bullet that just barely misses Hamilton (you see and hear it whiz over his head). She is present in Act 2 during "Blow us all away" and "The World was wide enough" too.
She also is the one who tells King George about President John Adams ("I Know Him"), and gives Burr the pen to write his first letter to Hamilton too ("Your Obedient Servant").
*Fun Fact:* The choreography used in Satisfied It is the same as Helpless Only seen from Angelica's point of view, if you pay attention in detail, your head will explode from the precision and dedication that the musical has
King George was actually known for going a bit crazy during his reign and that’s why he’s very repetitive and sounds crazy. He was also known for spitting and foaming at the mouth a lot so that’s why the actor does it! ^-^
He was also like 6'5 The craziness is believed to be connected to lead poisoning later in his reign. Strangely enough he was surprisingly well liked in England, referred to as Farmer George by some because of his beliefs that the monarchy should be more humble (relatively) and he maintained a personal garden. Which, thinking back on it, probably literally saved his neck considering how little monarchs were liked that point in history
Laurence’s death is the turning point of hamilton’s character, lets say that they had a more then friendship realationship and his death totally broke hamilton, this will lead to his decisions in act 2 not gonna give spoilers.
A fun fact to make Satisfied even more amazing: everyone in that number had to learn the moves that they did in Helpless backwards due to Satisfied rewinding!
6:47 Fun Fact: That moment, along with many others is a nod to Hamilton and Laurens relationship (there are recorded back and forth letters that make the fact that they’re in love pretty obvious), Lauren’s is usually seen with his arm around Hamilton’s shoulder or a little to close. However, during/after Hamiltion’s wedding he doesn’t do that anymore, he just gives handshakes and stuff.
It’s rumored that Hamilton had just finished writing a letter to Laurens when he found out about his death. Laurens death broke Hamilton to the point where he had many affairs to distract himself from the loss of Laurens.
also, whenever someone is in love with hamilton, the light will shine pink. at the end of stay alive, there's pink light when laurens grabs hamilton so :)
This is by far my favorite Hamilton reaction I have watched so far. The three of you are absolutely delightful and I can’t help wishing I were there enjoying Hamilton with y’all. The best word I can come up with to describe your reaction is giddy. Lee, you had me grinning so much with your enthusiasm. I swear it looked like you enjoyed seeing your friends excited about the show as much as you were enjoying the actual show yourself. That is such a beautiful thing, seeing someone find joy in the joy of others. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest of the show.
Watching you guys react makes me feel like I’m seeing the show for the first time again! Best reaction video I’m seen by far! Can’t wait for part 2!!! Fun fact: it’s heavily speculated that Hamilton and John Laurens were romantically involved (you can find Hamilton’s letters on online and their thirsty af). And after Laurens passed away, Hamilton never had another male friend who was as close to him. And Jonathan Groff purposefully drank a bunch of water before singing so King George would look like he was drooling and foaming at the mouth!
@@reactionando If you want another fun fact, people (including Hamilton's male coworkers) would comment on his intelligent, azure eyes. He was also a ginger, and quite a looker. Also, after Phillip's death, two things happened; his sister Angelica Hamilton went insane, and Eliza and Alexander named their next son after him.
When you recognized Jesse from Glee was EPIC. I'm kinda glad you didn't know the songs. Your reactions were that more authentic. And Philip didn't die twice. Oooo...you meant the actor, MY BAD. The entire cast, crew, ensemble, pitcrew SLAYED N KILT IT!!! 🏆
You guys look like you had just as much fun and excitement as I did watching it lol. What a wonderful thing for us who didn't get to watch it in theatres. It's almost 3 hrs long and I don't mind watching it over and over again!
I've been binge watching reaction videos since it came out on Disney+ and you guys are my favorites so far! Love your energy and your smiles are beautiful. Such genuine excitement, it was so infectious. Oh well, time to rewatch! ❤️
In that bit he's actually playing Hamilton's son Phillip who died to protect Alexander's reputation. However, I always wished he had raced over to the opposite side of the stage as Laurens to join the Schuyler sisters in singing the "Me, I loved him" bit 😆
@@sophiewong888 I DIDN’T THINK ANYONE WOULD CARE but another fact he was always the lead in any play at their art school but it’s probably gonna be hard for my mom and him to talk cause they have not spoken together in a while 😅
We absolutely love musicals and being able to share that is just awesome! Thank you so much for enjoying our reaction! Part 2 should be out this Saturday.
Idk why you were in my recommendations, but I'm glad you were. You guys have such a great energy and you guys seem to bounce off each other so well, I'm definitely subbing!
Lin Manuel Miranda is a prodigy! This play is history in the making and I'm feeling grateful for being a part of it! Loved your reaction! Good vibes always, from NYC!
There's also an audio version of act one all the characters are sung by muppets. It's just audio, so I'm not sure of everyone, but Kermit voices Alexander and Beakerdoes Burr. Fantastic and well worth a listen, really sorry I don't have the link but it's easily findable. Great reaction.
It is so damn hard to pick a favorite moment or song from this musical, I like the second act but I feel like Hamilton's first act is likely its strongest, so many incredible songs, solos for specific characters. Wait for it for Burr is stunning, Helpless followed by Satisfied is a contender for my favorite moment in the entire play, My Shot, Hamilton's true intro is amazing as the last hundred times I have heard it. Guns and Ships, and generally the entire war era of songs, from Washington and Hamilton's incredible moments to Lafayette dropping the fastest rap in Broadway history, its all so incredible.
Hey guys! Our reaction is finally here! We really hope you enjoyed watching it as much as we did. Remember the full reaction is already up on our Patreon available to ALL tiers. The link is in the description box! Thanks again for watching. Act: II will be out on Saturday.
I watched it on my birthday, the Fourth of July 🇺🇸. I enjoyed watching your reactions. My cheeks are hurting, lol! I will watch part 2 when my phone charges. I can’t wait to see your reactions to part 2! 😳
Glad you enjoyed the video! Watching it with other people makes it so much more fun which is why this video is so special to us. Sharing the experience of watching Hamilton and making people like you happy make us happy! Thanks again for watching.
I love that the girl on the right clearly doesn't know what's going on because shes so off beat when shes nodding/dancing along to the music but shes just vibing
The only thing that gets me more hyped than Hamilton is watching other people get hyped watching Hamilton! Same thing for all the other emotions actually. Watching them cry makes me cry, even though I’ve already cried at those scenes.
I LOOOOVE the enthusiasm!! It reminds me of when I first fell in love with the musical and it gives me so much joy seeing that love spread! And your edits are SO ON POINT 🤣👌🏽👌🏽
you're all amazing! i'm glad you enjoyed, and your reaction itself was also very much enjoyable haha. it's so fun seeing all of you get so excited, the energy is just so contagious!
looooovee y’alls reaction! it was so delightful and genuine. leslie odom jr who did such a good job as aaron burr, while he’s the “villain”, he’s my favorite character. burr’s complicated, and who hasn’t felt angrily frustrated when you get stepped on constantly and your dream gets taken away from you so quickly?
Hi I just found this channel and you guys seem so nice and happy I loved this this was so fun to watch thank you 😊❤️❤️😊 I was literally smiling the whole time because of your guys reaction and of course Hamilton I love Hamilton so much
