I suspect that the producer of the big jobbie felt the same relief and sense of freedom that the Diplomat felt when it shat its exhaust guts all over the layby… what goes around comes around… or something.
Excellent video as always, the Diplomat is my favourite car on the channel! The story about the dump someone had left in the toilet cracked me up as well, I don't understand what goes through peoples heads sometimes!
Great video Dougie, the headlining replacement makes a huge difference the interior of the diplomat, it looks much more inviting now. The Morrisons that you called in for petrol, looks like my local store which is about a 3 minute walk from my house!, if I had known you were coming, I would have put the kettle on lol 😂.

Was a surprise to see you go past tolson museum in Huddersfield because that's literally half a mile from where I live. Side note I've booked a whole cottage in invermoriston by Loch Ness and im looking forward to taking the insignia up with the Mrs and kid, should give the DPF a good clean out if nothing else
I had a Diplomat back in the day, lovely spec car 🤓, loving the updates on this car 👍,I have owned many of these Cavaliers over the years, worked at IBC the old Bedford plant. So owning a Vauxhall was the done thing 😂, and they were, are great cars 👍
I’ve had police do that to me too!!! They followed me right behind and drove right up my arse for a while, then pulled alongside and tried to antagonise me I just ignored them, they then slammed on in the middle lane and pulled off suddenly… I thought exactly the same they were trying to manufacture a reason to pull me!!
maybe the blocked exhaust was causing to much back pressure in the engine and it forced the coolant out that way. as you said it fixed itself.great vid again but a few to many drive by shots lol

Brilliant Video Dougie I was creased over in laughter with the big Jobby, trying to make lunch but in fits of laughter. New headlining looks a lot better and the speakers look so much better than the vauxhall ones! Keep up the good work and look forward to the next installment of the Diplomat.

I just about jobbied myself laughing at the massive jobby story. Funnily enough I thought of you coming across the A66 last week when I spotted the new Tim Hortons but not for a minute did I believe it would feature so entertainingly in your video. Totally agree re the old A74. You can hoof it along there good style and I really like the bit from Abington to Millbank up past the Redmoss. Good to see the Cav running well still after its own big jobby

Hi Dougie. That water leak that comes & go's might be the water pump seals gone and the water comes through that tiny hole on the water pump itself. I had the same issue on my mk4 astra in that it did not leak when warmed up, but leaked when stood with a cold engine, and sometimes it did not leak at all when the engine was warm or cold, then all of a sudden it leaks abit again when cold, then starts gushing out after a while when the engine is warm and the water pump seals eventually go completely. I would replace that if it ain't already done.
When you was coming through Huddersfield, you could’ve diverted to the Longley Farm Factory for some banana yoghurts. It is near Holmfirth. Next time I come to Edinburgh with a coach, I’ll bring you some lol.

Just brilliant! And you recovered good parts, the roof lining looks as new. So "downgrading" (from Euro 1 to non-Euro) is legally possible in Scotland ? Like, you will get an MoT afterwards with no comments ? To give it a comparison, that is impossible in Romania.
Hello Dougie, enjoying all the content. I have a Corsa D 1.25 diesel, which has had no Air con gas in it for over 2 years....should I risk just getting it filled by a garage OR get one of those twin can kits off Amazon, that has a pre test can, then the actual Air con gas refill can? I heard that Air con seals may need replacing if it's not used for awhile.
If it’s had none in for two years do not bother doing it yourself. Those cans are only designed for topping up. Take it to a proper place and they will test for leaks included in the price. If it doesn’t fill they don’t charge you for filling it obviously. If you do it yourself you waste more money. Air con needs to be used regular even in the winter as it’s keeps itself lubed

Thats a very cool head unit! What does it say when trying to activate Nav? No GPS signal? maybe it needs a special antenna, or if it says no routes it might need the map CD.

I’m desperate to watch, but more desperate to sleep - vid intros (great) aside, maybe take a punt on a tin of “Owatrol” for all the (external) black plastics - a half litre tin would be more than enough, and would especially take the 5-0’s eyes off the remainder of the car! Have just checked, and the girl in the Booth at the entrance of the “Cinema” said my ticket is still valid, and I can pick up, where I left off, tmr, which is good, seeing as I am currently typing via 1 finger and one quarter of a pair of eyes open! @Once Driven, Forever Smitten gotta be worth a shot maybe? Am not painter I just hoped if paint wasn't uv'd that bad sometimes it can be saved. You got a painter friend you could ask for advice on their opinion whether save able or not shame as its a gem and pretty much original 👌 thanks again for your time 👍

Last time i had the Apple pie at Mcdonalds was like 10 years back they used to give them away for free with the monopoly scratch cards they used to give out lol , the prices are a P Take though in 2023 here near London a Big Mac costs £4quid by itself sorry but im not paying that when i can buy 2 rustlers burgers and put them together as a DIY big mac for £2 lol anyway glad to see the Cavalier is going strong great car that is. 😀
Has the diplomat got that stupid setup with the plastic clamps and o-rings on the matrix? I had the problem on a vectra A cdi years back and it would only leak when the vehicle cooled down due to expanding/contracting of the o-ring.
Why didn’t you end up going woodhead pass which is ideal for Rotherham. Noticed you went 62. I travel it daily and it’s by far one of the worst motorways at the min for roadworks
